Abstract
Steel for reinforcement of concrete comprises in wt.% C, 0.1-0.22, Mn 0.60-1.4, Si 0.15-0.30, V 0.02-0.20, Al 0-0.030, Nb, 0-0.030, N 0.015-0.030, balance iron and usual impurities. The steel has a high elastic limit and is resistance weldable between point electrodes. The alloy is low cost compared with mildly alloyed killed and semi-killed mild steels used in prior art, and can be hand rolled and welded without severe loss of strength as occured in some prior art steels.
