Abstract

Corrosion resistance particularly in corrosive media e.g. chlorinated water is given to weldments in stainless steel, e.g. AISI 430 by the deposition of two organic coating layers on the steel. Preferably the first layer is an epoxy resin and the second layer is a compound based on polyvinylidene fluoride. Either the whole weldment may be coated or only the zones affected by the thermal cycle.
