<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
Pour obtenir une synchronisation plus précise des vitesses de déplacement des traverses, on a prévu dans la machine deux couples d'éléments complémentaires 18' (figu- re 2) formant un losange avec les premiers couples d'élé- ments 18. Dans ce cas. les deux articulations opposées de chaque losange sont fixées aux traverses 1 et 2, tandis que les deux autres articulations sont disposées d'une manière telle qu'elles puissent glisser dans les guides 20- Néan- moins, lorsque la machine est équipée d'un seul bloc me- teur actionnant l'une des traverses;

"Machine for working! 113 materials by deformation" .-
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The present invention relates to machines for working materials by deformation.
This invention is characterized by the high speeds of its working members and is successfully used for cutting ingots in continuous metal casting plants, but it can also be used for chip briquetting, forging. and stamping parts.
Machines are now known for working materials by deformation, in which the crosspieces with the 'tools, which move one in front of the other, are kinematically connected to each other at least by a couple. articulated elements.
Since the set of articulated elements connecting the two crossbars and synchronizing their movement, comprises elements whose length is unequal and the smallest element has a fixed articulation, the loads generated in the articulations are so great that they result in the rapid destruction of the joints.
The control device of these machines opposes the rapid movement speeds of the working bodies and, moreover, the weight and size of these machines are excessive, which does not allow them to be used as cutting devices in casting facilities
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
continues net.
The machines of the "Dinapac * and others" type, characterized by high displacement speeds of the working elements do not have a precise synchronization of the displacement speeds of the working elements, which reduces the output. The difference. the speeds of movement of the working members result in a considerable weight and bulkiness of these members.
The object of this invention is to eliminate the disadvantages mentioned above.
We therefore propose to create a machine for working materials by deformation, which would combine a low weight and a small footprint with the synchronous and rapid movement of the sleepers one in front of the other, and in which the impact energy would be used to the maximum for useful work.
This goal is achieved in a machine for work

The sleepers 1 and 2 are kinematically connected to each other by two pairs of elements 18, in order to synchronize the speeds of two sleepers moving 3 'in front of the other under the effect of two motor subassemblies. 4 and 5. It should be noted that the lengths of the elements 18 of each pair are identical and that these elements are interconnected by the articulation 19.
Each pair of elements is articulated to cross members 1 and 2.
The articulation 19 connecting each pair slides in the guide 20, perpendicular to the direction of movement of the sleepers 1 and 2.
The guide 20 and the engine subassemblies 4 and 5 are fixed to a frame 21.
Each pair of elements 18 is located so that they) are mutually parallel on either side of the ingot to be cut 22 (shown in dotted lines in FIG. 2).
In addition to the speed synchronization of sleepers 1 and 2, the pair of elements 18 (figure 1) also immobilizes these sleepers in the starting position, that is to say keeps the sleepers 1 and 2 apart. from the other as soon as the gas is compressed in the reservoir 9. For this purpose, the total length of the coupla of element 18 is equal to the maximum distance between the crosspieces 1 and 2 in steps; ..
In order to come out of articulation 19, connecting the pair of elements 18, from the neutral position appearing when the sleepers are immobilized in the starting position, the machine is equipped with two fixed pushers 2 and 24 actuating the articulation 19 in turn in sena oppa sés. It should be noted that '24 push buttons are installed
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
respectively on the crosspieces 1 and 2, while the pusher 23 is installed on the guide 20. It is possible to install on the guide 20 the pushers 24, as well as the pusher 23.
The pushers 24 return the elements of the couplera through the neutral position, to the immobilization position of the cross members (such a position is shown in FIG. 1), while the pusher 23 returns the cross bars 1 and 2. from the immobilized position and causes the pair of elements to pass through the neutral position, thus starting the working travel of the sleepers.
To obtain more precise synchronization of the travel speeds of the sleepers, two pairs of complementary elements 18 '(FIG. 2) are provided in the machine forming a rhombus with the first pairs of elements 18. In this case . the two opposite articulations of each rhombus are fixed to the crosspieces 1 and 2, while the two other articulations are arranged in such a way that they can slide in the guides 20. However, when the machine is equipped with a single metering unit actuating one of the sleepers;
, the diamond formed by the elements 18 and 18 ', in addition to the most precise synchronization of the speed of movement of the sleepers, also moves the second traversed in front of the first.
Since the proposed machine is intended for cutting a moving ingot, it must be mobile. For this purpose, the machine is suspended by the frame 21 from the two hydraulic cylinders 25, supplied with liquid by the connections 26 and 27.

At the point where the speed of the machine ast equal to the speed of the linget, the pushers 24 come into action, release the elements 18 pushed back towards the stops and cause their articulation 19 to pass through the dead paint position.
Then, under the inaction of the compressed gas, there is acceleration of the sleepers 1 and 2 in the direction of the ingot to be cut and accumulation in the sleepers of kinetic energy which is subsequently used for cutting the ingot. During the movement of the sleepers 1 and 2, the articulation 19 moves along the guide 20 and occupies the position indicated in dotted lines in FIG. 1.

At the end of cutting, the crossbars abut their entire front surface against the ingot, and come to a complete stop, while maintaining the guaranteed play between the knives.
The return of the sleepers 1 and 2 then takes place as well as the disengagement of the knives 3 from the ingot and the accumulation of potential energy for the subassemblies 4 and 5, as described above. Then, the engine liquid is delivered to the hydraulic cylinders 24, passing through them 26, and the achine returns to its starting position.
