<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
On obtient ainsi une modification sans étages du rapport des vitesses entre l'arbre d'entraînement et l'arbre entraîné, avec une construction extrêmement simple du dispositif d'entraî- nement, sans qu'il soit nécessaire d'utiliser des organes de commande particulièrement compliqués.;

Mechanical-hydraulic coupling device, more particularly for motor vehicles,
The present invention relates to a mechanical-hydraulic coupling device, more particularly for motor vehicles, comprising a hydrodynamic coupling consisting of a pump wheel and a turbine wheel.
It is known in motor vehicles for the automatic coupling of the drive shaft and the driven shaft, and for changing the transmission ratio between these shafts when increasing the number of revolutions of the shaft. drive shaft, to use a hydraulic coupling which cooperates with a differential gear, In its known embodiments, the gear
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Differential is arranged behind the coupling, respectively on the driven side of the coupling, and must be controlled using special actuators. As the control member of the differential gear, an automatic device is generally used which is provided, for example, with brake bands, which control the starting and stopping of parts constituting the differential gear. .
These known drag devices are relatively complicated in construction and, therefore, expensive and prone to inconvenience.
The object of the invention is to provide a mechanical-hydraulic coupling which does not require any particular control member, and whose construction is particularly simple. This coupling must, moreover, be provided such that it can be used for motor vehicles with relatively low power engines, by virtue of an appropriate choice of the transmission ratio, respectively of the toothed wheels of the transmission.
For this purpose, according to an essential feature of the invention, there is provided a planetary gear which is arranged on the drive side of the coupling and whose transmission cage is fixedly connected to the wheel. pump.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the hydraulic coupling is disposed behind the planetary gear, the two elements mutually controlling each other, in the manner which will be described below.
According to a preferred embodiment of the device according to the invention, this result is obtained by the fact that the drive shaft of the coupling, connected to the turbine wheel, carries a pot-shaped wheel. ,
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
arranged in the planetary gear and which is provided with an internal toothing with which the planet wheels are engaged. The planetary transmission cage is advantageously provided, on its side opposite the turbine wheel and the pot-shaped wheel, with journals serving to support the planet wheels.
For the support of said pot-shaped wheel, itself acting in the manner of a support element, it is furthermore provided, according to another advantageous feature of the invention, to mount in a rotary manner. the shaft driven in the drive shaft of the planetary gear.
An embodiment of the invention and its operation are described in detail below, with reference to the appended drawing, the single figure of which is a view in longitudinal section of the coupling.
The mechanical-hydraulic coupling shown in the drawing consists essentially of a planetary gear I, of a type known per se, and a hydrodynamic coupling.
II, also already known per se.
On the end of the drive shaft 1 belonging to the planetary gear 1 is mounted a planetary wheel 2, with which several planetary wheels are engaged, two of which, the planetary wheels 3 and 4, are engaged. shown in the drawing. Said planet wheels 3 and 4 are rotatably mounted on journals 5 and 6, which are constituent parts of a planetary transmission cage 7, in the form of a pot. Said cage? is rotatably mounted in bearings 8 on the drive shaft 1.
The sun gear 2 is provided, at one end, with a chamber 9, in which the driven shaft 10 is mounted.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
rotatably by means of bearings 11, On the driven shaft 10 is mounted the turbine wheel 12 of the hydrodynamic coupling II.
The turbine wheel 12 is provided, on its two sides, with vanes 13; it also includes) 14 oil collecting chambers,
With the turbine wheel 12, fixedly mounted on the driven shaft 10, cooperates a pump wheel 17, also provided with vanes 13 ', which is rotatably mounted, in bearings 18, on the driven shaft 10. Said pump wheel 17 constitutes a fixed element of the planetary gear cage 7.
It is however possible to provide separate parts 7 and 17 and to connect them together, for example, by means of the screw, where the driven shaft 10 is, moreover, mounted in the region of the planetary gear I , a pot-shaped wheel 19, which is provided with an internal toothing 20.
Satellites 5 and 4 are engaged with said pot farm wheel 19.
The operation of the planetary gear is as follows:
If the drive shaft 1, for example in a motor vehicle, is driven, during the stopping of the vehicle, by a motor (not shown), the planet wheels; and 4 are driven in rotation and rotate on the inner side of the pot-shaped wheel 19. Said planet wheels 3 and 4 then drive, via the journals 5 and 6, the planetary transmission cage 7, so that the pump wheel 17 is also driven in a relatively slow rotary motion.
The coupling of the shaft 10, by driving the turbine wheel 12, takes place only with a higher number of revolutions.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
If, for example, for the first gear of the vehicle, a transmission ratio of 4: 1 is available between the drive shaft 1 and the driven shaft 10, the transmission ratio between the planetary wheel is chosen as 2 and the transmission cage 7.a ratio of 4; 1. When tree 1 performs four. turns, the pump wheel 17 performs one.
The coupling II can be provided such that an approximate running synchronism, respectively a coupling state, does not occur between the pump wheel 17 and the turbine wheel. 12, that when the pump wheel performs, for example, 1000 revolutions per minute. In this case, the drive shaft 1, respectively the motor, would perform 4000 revolutions. If the pump wheel 17 performs approximately 400 revolutions, there is already a long drive of the turbine wheel 12. The aim of Deci is to obtain as smooth a clutch as possible.
At the moment when the turbine wheel 12 is driven, the pot-shaped wheel 19 is necessarily driven, also., With the driven shaft 10, the entry into rotation of the pot-shaped wheel 19, however, decreases the ratio of transmission between the drive shaft 1 and the planetary transmission cage 7, respectively the pump wheel 17. This modification of the transmission ratio takes place without stages, for example by going from 1; 4 to 1: 3.9, then to 1: 3.8, etc ...
It follows that when the planet wheel 17 performs, for example, 1000 revolutions per minute, the coupling engages, i.e. the turbine wheel 12 also performs 1000 revolutions and that there is a synchronized ratio in the planetary gear I, so that the 1-wire drive shaft
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
and the driven shaft 10 rotate at the same speed, while the planet wheels 3 and 4 no longer rotate around their axis, but are stopped.
There is thus obtained a step-free modification of the speed ratio between the drive shaft and the driven shaft, with an extremely simple construction of the drive device, without the need for the use of actuators. particularly complicated .;
