<EMI ID=1.1>
<EMI ID=2.1>
<EMI ID=4.1>

<EMI ID=8.1>
<EMI ID=10.1>
<EMI ID=11.1>
<EMI ID=13.1>

<EMI ID=17.1>
<EMI ID=18.1>

"Covered freight wagon with parts of side walls movable in the longitudinal direction of the wagon"
The present invention relates to a covered freight wagon, with a fixed or pivoting roof and with side wall parts movable in the longitudinal direction of the wagon for opening and closing, in portions, a loading opening arranged. along each longitudinal side of the wagon.
In covered freight wagons of the type indicated above, it is known to form the side walls by means of fixed parts and parts which can be moved longitudinally, the parts of the side walls which can be moved longitudinally being arranged in the state of closing externally in front of the fixed side wall parts which can be moved longitudinally in the plane in which they are arranged. This arrangement has the drawback that when the side walls are closed, the internal width of the loading enclosure to be filled differs from the maximum allowable gauge of the wagon by an amount which is at least twice the double wall thickness.
It is also known to increase the internal width of the loading enclosure by ensuring that all the side wall parts are in the closed state arranged in a plane and that the side wall parts can be moved longitudinally. are arranged so that they can be rotated. With this known arrangement, the internal width of the loading enclosure is no longer reduced to more than double the simple wall thickness.
All known covered goods wagons with side wall parts which can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the wagon, with sliding doors and (or) with sliding and pivoting doors, have a considerable drawback inherent in them, which is that regardless of the combination of longitudinally movable and pivotable side wall parts, there is only ever a fraction of the loading opening that can be released for loading and unloading, this fraction being smaller than the total length of the longitudinally displaced side wall portions.
This drawback is due, in known freight wagons, on the one hand, to the fact that there exist, between a frame and a roof beam, parts of side walls or columns of side walls, vertical, which are mounted regularly in a fixed position and, on the other hand, in the same shape of the side wall parts which partly overlap to ensure sufficient sealing. The total length of the different parts of the side walls which overlap is in fact always greater than the internal length of the loading chamber between the end walls. Also did not
<EMI ID = 1.1>
<EMI ID = 2.1>
"dead loading and unloading zones" which prevent direct access to the loading chamber and which are in particular always very inconvenient for the unloading of bulky goods of great length.
Furthermore, the known devices necessary for the pivoting and for the longitudinal displacement of the side walls are complicated and require for their installation a very large space, in width, which cannot be? obtained that at the expense of the interior width of the space
<EMI ID = 3.1> a charging enclosure having as large an interior width as possible. According to another object, it is to create a loading opening through which the loading enclosure is accessible over its entire interior length.
The invention therefore aims to create
<EMI ID = 4.1>
rails which can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the wagon, the loading chamber of which has a maximum internal width, which has not yet been reached.
a loading opening, extending from one end wall of the wagon to the other end wall of the wagon and from the loading floor to the roof beam without any interruption, coming from structural elements, fixed, the loading opening being able to be released for loading and for unloading in selectable fractions. It is also necessary that the total length of the fractions, of the loading opening which can be released, is much greater than the interior length of the loading enclosure. Finally, all the side wall parts which can be moved longitudinally must be in the closed state, arranged in a plane,
Another object of the invention is to design the devices for rolling and guiding the portions of side walls which can be displaced longitudinally in such a way that this displacement can be obtained easily with the aid of a small number of maneuvers. In addition, measures must be taken to prevent the side wall parts which can be moved longitudinally from becoming unhooked when opening or closing.
Finally, according to a secondary aim of the invention, the loading opening to be created must be closed on all sides in a sealed manner with respect to the portions of the side walls which can be displaced longitudinally.
Furthermore, the object of the invention is to eliminate the drawbacks associated with the current state of the art.
Starting from a covered freight wagon, known with a fixed or pivoting roof and with parts of side walls which can be moved longitudinally for opening and closing a loading opening arranged along each longitudinal side of the wagon , the problem posed is solved by the invention as follows,
The freight wagon has on each longitudinal face an uninterrupted interior loading opening corresponding to the interior length of the enclosure
loading between the end walls and at the interior height of the loading enclosure between a floor of this enclosure and a roof beam interconnecting the end walls; each side wall consists of at least one sliding door and at least one sliding and pivoting door; the sliding and pivoting door is longer than the sliding door and the sliding and pivoting door at each end of the wagon can be partially moved beyond the end walls.
The freight car designed according to the invention has the considerable advantage that a loading enclosure having a maximum width is accessible from both:
sides through loading openings each of which can be released, without any separation interposed between the end walls, the floor and the beam.
roof, by fractions, for loading and for unloading ment in such a way that any part of the loading chamber is directly accessible, without any
no obstacle.
Regarding the division of the side walls into sliding doors and into sliding and pivoting doors, there are different possibilities, In one
preferred embodiment, the arrangement adopted is
such that each side wall consists of two sliding doors and one sliding and pivoting door and that
the width of the sliding and pivoting door is more
larger than a third of the distance between the end walls moth. In the closed state, the sliding doors can be adjacent to the end walls and the sliding and pivoting door can be arranged in the middle. In another form
preferred embodiment, the arrangement adopted is such that each side wall consists of 'two sliding doors
and two sliding and pivoting doors, and that the total width of the sliding and pivoting doors is greater than half the distance between the end walls. In addition, the sliding doors can be arranged in the middle, and the sliding and pivoting doors can be adjacent to the end walls. The number of sliding doors and sliding and pivoting doors to be provided for the division of the side wall depends on the particular case of use. ,
Rolling devices and guide devices, designed according to the invention, for sliding doors and for sliding and pivoting doors also contribute in particular to solving the problem posed which is to keep the internal width of the lane as large as possible. charging enclosure. For this purpose, it is advisable to place below the floor "along each longitudinal side, a longitudinal rail, extending from one end wall to the other, having a straight section at 0 open upwards and comprising two running tracks arranged one above the other, while at the upper part of the wagon there is provided as part of the roof beam an open guide downwards, extending from one end wall to the other in two separate guide planes

of the rail in an articulated and elastic manner and they are guided at their upper part in the guide, facing inward, of the roof beam of suitable shape, The middle sliding and pivoting doors can by <EMI ID = 6.1>
from each of their ends, on the lower track of the rail by means of at least two track rollers supported at a certain distance from one of them.
<EMI ID = 7.1>
<EMI ID = 8.1>
certain distance 3, 'from each other in the front guide of the. roof beam, suitably shaped,
The track rollers of sliding doors and sliding and pivoting doors are supported in
<EMI ID = 9.1> large so that these housings can be threaded in the gap remaining free between the upper raceway and the underside of the floor or in the gap remaining free above the lower raceway in the running rail itself. In this way, neither the sliding doors nor the sliding and pivoting doors can jump out of their guides.
In the practical embodiment, it has turned out to be judicious to support the rolling rollers of the sliding doors in pairs by means of a roller holder.
<EMI ID = 10.1>
carry this roller holder elastically by means of hinges with interposition of oscillating metal plates and against a console assembled with the sliding door. This mounting of the rollers for the sliding doors has the advantage that the latter can tilt outward to a small extent in their hinged mounting and when unlocking move away from the surfaces of
<EMI ID = 11.1>
loading and therefore be easily moved into. longitudinal direction. Another advantage of this assembly resides in that the track rollers can always adapt elastically, with bearing pressures identical to any irregularities in the running rail.
In the case of sliding and pivoting doors also, the rolling rollers are advantageously fixed in pairs, one behind the other in the direction of the rolling bearing on a roller holder and this roller holder can
<EMI ID = 12.1> possible to make -pivot the sliding and pivoting doors out of their closing plane to bring them in their plane of longitudinal displacement and to move them in front of the sliding doors, each sliding and pivoting door is supported in the at least two vertical pivot axes at the upper and lower ends which are supported by pivoting levers through which these doors are supported at their lower part on the roller carriers and at their upper part are guided, 'in guide rails, by means of rolling pivots.
The pivot axes are arranged at a certain distance from the lateral limitation of the sliding and pivoting doors so that the latter can be moved beyond the end walls before the roller carriers abut; against the end of the running track.
To absorb the axial shear moment exerted by the sliding and pivoting doors on the track rollers when these doors have fully pivoted, the rollers carriers are fixed according to their pivot radius, at a more or less acute angle with respect to the vertical, on a support sleeve arranged on the tilting pivot.
Thanks to this inclined mounting of the track rollers, wear in the supports and according to the contact peripheries,
when moving the sliding and swinging door, in its pivoting state, is reduced to a minimum, which spares the transverse guide rollers which
would be needed otherwise.
So that it is possible to seal off the loading opening with the side wall consisting of sliding doors and sliding and pivoting doors, provision is made, according to proposal I and proposal II, against sliding doors and swivel, locking devices. With these devices
<EMI ID = 13.1>
tical supported against the sliding and pivoting door, with locking hooks fixed at its upper end and at its lower end, and with locking strikers fixed respectively in the roof beam at the height of the locking hooks and below the floor and With locking rods behind which the locking hooks hang, it is possible to fix the side wall parts against the floor, the roof beam and the end walls.
The sliding and pivoting doors are in contact with the vertical upright of a sliding door frame by means of a pressure bar placed obliquely and when locking, they press the sliding doors towards the end walls and the parts. edges of the sliding doors engage in pocket-shaped profiles attached to the end walls. In order to weatherproof the junction areas between the sliding doors and the sliding and pivoting doors, the sliding doors have a hook-shaped labyrinth rod which is engaged behind the pressure rods of the sliding and pivoting doors.
With a view to reducing the construction width of the freight wagon according to the invention, the roof beam is designed to serve at the same time as a guide rail and it has two guides, respectively for the sliding doors and for the sliding doors. and swivel. The roof beam and the guide rail can be
<EMI ID = 14.1>
single piece of construction, consisting only of two folded sheets, the longitudinal edges of which are offset with respect to each other in such a way that they form the open guides towards the bottom. On its upper face, the hollow beam serving at the same time as a roof beam and as a guide rail may have a shape such that it constitutes a
<EMI ID = 15.1>
either simple or for a lifting swing roof.
Starting from the known covered freight wagon with fixed or hinged roof and side wall parts which can be moved in the longitudinal direction for opening or closing of the loading opening arranged according to each longitudinal side of the wagon, the problem is solved by the invention of the. following way.
The freight car has on each longitudinal face an interior opening of. loading corresponding to the interior length of the loading enclosure between its end walls and to the interior height of the loading enclosure between a floor of this enclosure and a roof beam interconnecting the end walls; each side wall consists of at least two sliding and pivoting doors of different lengths the sliding and pivoting doors can pivot

laid so that they can be moved longitudinally
<EMI ID = 17.1>
the longer one can be moved, at both ends of the wagon, past the end walls.
<EMI ID = 18.1>
Floor residing in that all movable side wall parts, namely the pivoting sliding doors according to the invention, can be pivoted out of the closing plane and be lifted by. the commodity itself. Another remarkable advantage of this embodiment is that the releasable fractions of the loading opening are even longer because the sliding and pivoting doors, also located adjacent to the end walls can be. displaced longitudinally, at least in part, beyond the ends of the wagon.
As regards the division of the side walls into sliding and pivoting doors, there are again different possibilities. In a preferred embodiment, the arrangement adopted is such that each
<EMI ID = 19.1>
hinged and that the length of the sliding door and
<EMI ID = 20.1>
tance between the end walls. The sliding and pivoting doors are in this oas advantageously arranged so as to be able to be displaced longitudinally in the internal pivot plane and the median sliding and pivoting door is arranged so as to be able to be displaced longitudinally in the external pivot plane. Since the pivoting levers of the sliding and pivoting doors on the side of the end walls are shorter than the pivoting levers of the middle sliding and pivoting doors for this purpose, the inclination of the
Track rollers for sliding and pivoting doors, side end walls, may be smaller than for sliding and pivoting center doors.
Sliding and pivoting doors, end wall sides movable in part beyond the ends of the wagon may, in the closed state, be attached to the end wall corner posts at the
by means of a clamping device. Such a clamping device can advantageously be formed. by means of a pressure bar, hinged so as to be able to pivot about a vertical axis at each end wall corner post and by means of an attached locking lever
on the pressure bar and can rotate around a horizontal axis. The locking lever can then be placed in its closed position in a locking hook attached to the sliding and pivoting door.
Other characteristics and advantages of the present invention will emerge from the description which follows, given with reference to the appended drawings and giving, by way of explanation, but in no way limiting, several production trusses in accordance with the invention.

In FIG. 4, there is shown schematically how the sliding doors 6a, 6b and the sliding and pivoting door 7 can, in this embodiment of the freight car , be.displaced with respect to each other in order to free one after the other of the parts Z of the opening of the charging enclosure. Due to the fact that the Z parts partially overlap, the loading enclosure can be made accessible in fractions at any point of its internal length, following the pace of the movement of the doors. This is possible because the sliding and pivoting door 7 is longer, according to the invention, than

In another embodiment, the sliding and hinged door 7 is longer than the sliding door 6, the Z parts released from the opening of the loading enclosure partly overlap, so that even in this embodiment comprising only two side wall parts 6, 7, the opening of the loading enclosure can be released over its entire length depending on the rate of movement of the doors. In Figure 5, there is shown the diagram of the movement for a side wall consisting of two sliding doors 6 and two sliding and pivoting doors 7, the sliding doors 6 being in the closed state in the middle and the two doors sliding and pivoting 7 being each disposed at the end of the side wall.
Since, in this case again, the total length of the two sliding and pivoting doors 7 is a little greater than the total length of the two sliding doors 6, the parts Z being able to be released, depending on the rhythm of the movement of the opening of the charging enclosure overlap considerably, so that there is always a little more than half the total length of the opening of the charging enclosure which is open. This embodiment of the freight car according to the invention is particularly suitable for very bulky goods.
