" BROCHE CREUSE POUR L'INDUSTRIE TEXTILE"
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
.
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

"HOLLOW SPINDLE FOR THE TEXTILE INDUSTRY"
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The hollow spindles used in spinning generally have a hollow axis rotating in the foot of the spindle, this rotating shaft necessarily mounted in a cantilever inevitably generates vibrations that are difficult to dampen.
The present invention aims to overcome these drawbacks. To this end, it relates to a hollow spindle for the textile industry characterized in that its axis consists of two coaxial tubular elements, one fixed central 9 sealed in the spindle foot, and the other external rotating, to its lower part, in a thrust bearing housed in the spindle base, and equipped with vibration damping means' and, at its upper part on a bearing carried by the fixed central element of the axis, while an intermediate bearing carried by an upper tubular extension @

Since it is firmly anchored in the spindle foot, the fixed element of the spindle axis is not the seat of any vibration.
With a view to damping the vibrations of the rotating element of the spindle axis, the thrust bearing housing is mounted in a ring of spherical profile, oscillating on a spherical cup integral with the spindle base and, moreover, it is housed inside the upper tubular extension of the spindle foot with the interposition of a spiral spring embedded in an oil bath.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
According to another characteristic of the invention, in order to reduce the causes of vibrations, the thrust bearing is placed substantially in the axis of the drive belt, that is to say in the vicinity of the median plane of the pulley integral with the rotating body of the spindle.
According to a variant of the invention, the lower end of the bearing-thrust housing is conformed to the profile of a spherical zone ', bearing directly on the spherical cup secured to the spindle base.
For the same purpose, the intermediate bearing of the rotating element of the spindle axis is located substantially at the center of gravity of the load of the rotating body of the spindle.
In any event, the invention will be well understood, with the aid of (the following description, with reference to the appended schematic drawing showing, by way of non-limiting examples, two embodiments of this hollow spindle: - Figures 1 and 2 are vertical axial sectional views showing two embodiments of this hollow pin.
In both examples, the spindle axis consists of two coaxial tubular elements, one fixed 2 and the other rotating 3.
The interior element 2 is sealed by its base, in the spindle foot 4 which it passes right through.
The element 1 rests by its lower part on a thrust bearing 5-6. At its upper end, this element µ rotates on a bearing 2 consisting of a self-lubricating bearing or a ball or needle bearing; mounted on the fixed element 2 ,,
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The rotating element is, moreover, supported substantially in its middle, by an intermediate bearing 8, constituted by a roller or needle bearing. This upper intermediate bearing 8 is carried by a tubular extension / attached to the spindle base 4.
The rotating body of the spindle consists of a tubular sleeve 11 linked, by its upper end, to the rotating element of the axis, above the intermediate bearing 8. The drive pulley 12 of the spindle is formed at the lower end of the aforementioned tubular sleeve 11.
In order to reduce the oscillations of the rotating element 1 of the spindle axis, the level of the pulley 12 is such that the axis of the drive belt, not shown in the drawing, is substantially at the same level. lower landing level 6.
In addition, this lower bearing.6 is advantageously equipped with damping means', To this end, in the example illustrated in FIG. 1, the casing 13 of the bearing 6 rests on a cup 15, integral with the troche foot 4 , by means of a ring 14 fitted onto it and the underside of which, like the corrugation of the bowl 15, has a profile in the form of a spherical zone. In addition, this casing 13 carries, on the outside, a spiral spring 16 which bears on the inner face of the tubular extension 9 of the spindle foot 4. Finally, the stop 5, bearing 6, casing 13 spring 16 and cup 14 assembly. is drowned in an oil bath.:,.

<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
According to another characteristic of the invention, and still with the aim of reducing the oscillations of the rotating element 2 of the axis of the spindle, the intermediate bearing 8 is located substantially at the level of the center of gravity of the load carried by the rotating body 11.
This arrangement ensures perfect load distribution, and allows vibration-free operation at high speeds and for very large loads.
In addition, the fixed central element 2 of the axis of the spindle being firmly anchored in the spindle base 4, it is not subject to any vibration which could have a harmful influence on the wire as it leaves the spindle. . Finally, any risk of soiling the wire is eliminated.
In the variant illustrated in FIG. 2, the spherical zone by lacquer:. The housing 17 of the thrust bearing 6 rests on the cup 15 ost produced directly at the lower end 17a of said casing 17.
In this way, the mounting of this washer on the casing is eliminated. than the machining that it makes necessary.
It can also be noted that in this variant, the thrust bearing 5a is arranged inside the housing 17, above the lower bearing 6.
The operation; of this spindle is obviously the same as in the example described in the main patent.
As goes without saying, the invention is not limited to the sole embodiment of this spindle which has been described above, by way of nonlimiting example; it embraces, on the contrary, all the variants thereof. achievement, It (
