Description

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  "Lightweight construction element, in particular for walls".

   It is known to exploit the poor thermal conductivity of plastics for light and heat-insulating building elements. To the extent of current knowledge, however, the sound insulation properties of these lightweight building elements are not sufficient. Until now, satisfactory sound insulation has only been achieved by employing heavy construction elements.

   The object of the present invention is to provide a

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 lightweight construction element which, in addition to good thermal insulating properties, also exerts an acoustic insulating effect sufficiently satisfying the requirements laid down for living partitions and walls separating work rooms or foreign residential premises.

   According to the present invention, this object is achieved with a light construction element characterized in that it comprises an intermediate layer of elastic synthetic material foam, in particular of polyvinyl chloride foam, coated on its two flat faces with 'a hard foam based on phenolic resin, this intermediate layer also comprising, on one of its faces a support layer applied to the hard foam and consisting of wood, gypsum, eternit, ceramic, a sheet metal , of lead, of a synthetic material or the like and, on the other side, an identical support layer applied to the hard foam or a protective layer of synthetic resin optionally provided on the outside with a silicone coating.

   An essential advantage of the deconstruction element according to the invention, which can be used, in particular, as a partition wall or removable wall, as a decorative element, as a facade or ceiling element for homes, premises or commercial houses, hotels, airfields, etc., lies in the fact that it can be easily manufactured on a conveyor belt or by means of transportable devices allowing the use of essentially local materials.

   The invention is illustrated and described in more detail by means of an exemplary embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawing.
