ELEMENT TEMPORISATEUR.
(Invention: M. Henry DURANT)

TIMER ELEMENT.
(Invention: M. Henry DURANT)
The present intention relates to a timing element, acting for example on an electric relay. There are already timer elements comprising a piston, sliding in a cyline @ ous the effect of a determined return force., Exerted for example. by @ a spring, the movement of the piston being braked by a @ fluid forced through ur: cataract.
When such a timer element is to operate with a

hydraulic fluid such as fluid, for example: '\ 3 -30 C and + 70 C the viscosity of the fluid varies within very wide limits so that the value of the maximum delay of the timer element can reach thirty times the value of the minimum time delay and more, depending on the liquid used.
The object of the invention is to keep the value of the time delay within very narrow limits. To achieve this result, the invention is characterized in that the cataract through which the fluid is forced is constituted by the mechanical clearance between the piston and the cylinder, that the cylinder is made of a material with a low coefficient of thermal expansion, that the piston is made of a material with a very high coefficient of thermal expansion and that the difference between the two said coefficients of thermal expansion compensates for the effect of the variation in the viscosity of the fluid used on the timing of the timer element .
The invention is described below with respect to an example of an embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawing.
The only figure in the drawing represents a cross-section
