Figure 1 une vue en élévation d'un appareil de sécurité conforme à l'invention ;
Figure 3 une vue en plan dudit appareil.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

A valve safety device according to the invention is characterized in that it consists of a cup-shaped valve body, closed by a cover and divided into two chambers, one of which is connected to the valve. usual regulator and the other of which is connected to the supply line of the household appliance, the two chambers being separated from each other by a wall provided with orifices and serving as a valve seat for a valve carried by a plunger and capable of to move in the inlet chamber, a movement which is pre-adjusted for a given flow rate, a push button being provided in the cover to act on the plunger and return the valve from the closed position to the open position.
According to the invention, the orifices of the valve seat are dimensioned such that the flow rate is less than the output rate.
Also according to the invention, the wall separating the two chambers is movable and its movement is subjected in the outlet chamber to the antagonistic action of a spring calibrated at the normal pressure * of the bottle.
Other characteristics of the invention are further described below on the basis of the appended drawing, by way of example only, where it is seen in
Figure 1 an elevational view of a safety device according to the invention;
Figure 2 a sectional view according to Figure 1, and
Figure 3 a plan view of said apparatus.
The safety device according to the invention and shown in the drawing comprises a valve body 1 in the form of a bowl, closed at its upper part by a cover 2 by means of a seal washer 3.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Said valve body 1 has two superimposed lateral openings, one 4 at the lower part provided with a thread for fixing a hook 5 to be connected to the usual pressure reducer of a liquid gas cylinder, the other 6 at the upper part also provided with a net for fixing a stud 7 to be hooked up to the supply pipe of the household appliance, such as a stove. The two connections at the start of the device are arranged on the same level to avoid an overhang.
The two openings 4 and 6 in the valve body are separated by a wall 8 provided with perforations 9, which divides said body in its height into two chambers, an inlet chamber 1 'and an outlet chamber 1 ". 8 is profiled at its lower part at 8 ', on the outside of the perforations 9. To serve as a valve seat, said perforations 9 have a dimension such that the flow rate is less than the output rate of the apparatus.
The bottom wall of the bowl or valve body 1 has in the center a projecting part 10 provided in the axis of the bowl with a threaded perforation 11, opening on the one hand outwards and on the other hand towards the interior of chamber 1 '. Said perforation is closed on the outside by a bolt 12. A screw 13 can be moved inside the perforation 11, the screwing slot of which is directed towards the bolt 12 and which presents over a large part of its length. length beyond the slot a perforation 14. In this perforation 14 is capable of moving a plunger 15, the upper end 15 'of which is guided in an orifice provided in the center of the wall 8.
On the plunger 15 is mounted a circular plate 16 and a counter-plate 17 and, between these two elements, a
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
rubber membrane or the like 18 forming the valve.
The dimensions thereof are suitable on the one hand to fit correctly on the valve seat 8 'and on the other hand to leave between the walls of the chamber 1' and the periphery of the valve a passage for the gas. The valve is not oollée on the plate 16 so as to be able to bend and adjust to its seat.
In the chamber 1 'is also disposed a disc 19 resting on the side wall at 20 and held in place by an olip 21. This disc is placed above the projection 10 and the opening 4 and is provided with a central orifice 19 'with a diameter slightly greater than the diameter of said projection.
The partition wall 8 rests on a cutout 22 of the side wall of the bowl by means of a seal washer 23, the chamber 1 "therefore having a diameter slightly larger than that of the chamber 1 '.
This wall is movable, but held in place by the action of a coil spring 24 housed in the chamber 1 ".
The end 15 'of the plunger 15 extends beyond the wall 8 into the chamber 1 ", where it comes into contact, in the closed position of the valve, with a push button 25 projecting out of the cover 2. Said button pusher is held in its raised position by an elastic membrane 26 carried by the underside of the cover, which also has an annular crown 2 'projecting internally for guiding the spring 24. The push button is guided during its movement. down by a ring 27 and a spring 28.
As the connector 5 is to be connected to the stud provided at the outlet of the regulator of the bottle (not shown), said connector is provided with an additional part
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
constituted by a tube 29 carrying on a part of its external surface a via thread intended to be engaged with the internal via thread of the shoulder nut 5 'of said raooord, the other part being profiled in the shape of a gold with three countersunk screws * 29 ', which ensure an integral fixing with the stud of the regulator.
Said tubing has at the inlet an internal diameter corresponding to the external diameter of the nipple, while the remaining part has a larger internal diameter in which is inserted a rubber sleeve 30, the internal diameter of which corresponds at most to the external diameter. of the nipple.
The operation of such a safety device is very simple: first the connector 5 is connected with its tubing 29 on the stud of the regulator, the tightening of said tubing causing, thanks to the sleeve 30, which is crushed and thus sees its internal diameter decreasing, the tight fixing of said stud, the stud 7 of the device is then connected to the rubber supply pipe of the liner, for example.
The gas entering the safety device through the opening 4 is forced by means of the disc 19 to fill the annular chamber made around the projection 10, then passes through the orifice 19 'of said disc to be distributed uniformly under the valve, passes between the said valve and the side wall of the bowl, passes through the orifices 9 (here four in number) of the wall 8 and exits through the opening 6.
The screw 13 has been preset, the bolt 12 being normally sealed, for a flow of gas through the safety device appropriate to the heating device used, without the plunger 15 and its valve moving to the closed position. When the gas flow entering the inlet chamber 1 'under the valve
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
exceeds this normal flow rate, for example during a * leak in the rubber connecting pipe beyond the stud 7, the valve is raised until it closes the perforations * 9 of the wall 8. The leak is therefore stopped .
When the cause of this leak is removed, it suffices to push on button 25 to lower the valve, release the perforations 9 and re-supply the heater.
Of course, it would not be outside the scope of the invention to make certain constructive modifications to the safety device. Thus, the valve body or bowl can be made in several parts and the diaphragm 26 can be formed with the seal 3. According to the invention, it is also possible, according to the invention, to provide a pressure reducing valve, in which said safety device would be incor- rect. To keep the valve in the closed position, a magnetic closure can also be added to the device. Since it is possible to create a pipe in the side wall of the valve body, bringing a portion of the gas from the lower annular chamber above the valve, and to provide therein an adjusting screw blocking said pipe.
