Lorsque des matières sont contenues dans la partie 5, on fait couler de l'eau par l'anneau 3 en tirant sur une chasse d'fau (non représentée), les matières entraînées par l'eau passent par le conduit 6, puis sur la partie inclinée sont acheminées au réceptacle 8 où elles sont broyées par le couteau 15 qui est entratné en rotation par le moteur 11 qui a préalablement été mis en mouvement ; simultanément, la pompe centrifuge aspire l'eau et la matière broyée et les refoule dans le diffuseur d'où elles s'évacuent par le tuyau d'évacuation 19.
