<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
La mise en oeuvre de l'invention sera mieux comprise à l'aide de l'exemple non limitatif qui va suivre et du dessin annexé, sur lequel : la fig. 1 représente une coupe longitudinale d'un brû- leur pour four à gaz conforme à l'invention, comportant un thermo- élément; la fig. 2 est une coupe prise selon II-II de la fig.l. ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Burner with thermoelectric element for gas oven.
The present invention relates to a gas oven burner comprising a thermoelectric element providing the current for a thermoelectric ignition safety device, this thermoelement being heated by the flames of the burner when the latter is fully open and by two auxiliary flames coming out under the burner openings of the latter, when it is greatly reduced,
Known thermoelectric ignition safety devices are used to block the gas valve as soon as the flames go out for any reason * This operation is controlled as is known by means of a thermo-element which is placed within reach of the burner flames.
When the burner is completely
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
open, the thermo-element is sufficiently heated to supply the electromagnet mounted in the thermo-electric ignition safety device with sufficient voltage. When the burner is reduced, in particular to its minimum position, it may happen that the heating of the thermo-element is no longer sufficient to give the essential voltage to the electromagnet, so that the gas valve produces inadvertently stopping the gas supply.
! To avoid this drawback, it has already been recommended to place the thermo-element at such a distance from the burner openings that it is heated by the flames of the burner when the latter is open and to place it on the body of the burner and under the openings of this an auxiliary outlet leading near the thermo-element and producing two auxiliary flames which heat this thermo-element sufficiently, even when the burner is set to the minimum. In addition, a similar gas oven burner is known, in which a pilot light is provided under the head of the burner, emerging from an opening made in the cylindrical side wall, this pilot light coming to heat the thermo-element when the burner is reduced to a minimum.
The present invention relates to an improved device of the aforementioned type making it possible to guarantee the heating of the thermo-element, even when the burner is greatly reduced. The burner according to the invention is constructed so that the outlets of the auxiliary flames are located, in a known manner, in the cylindrical side wall of the burner body and are both inwardly and downwardly offset relative to the outlets. of the burner flames, this in both directions and over a distance which corresponds at least to the distance between two burner flame outlets and to the median longitudinal axis of the thermo-element, axis which is located in the middle between the two above openings of the flames and within reach of the tips of these flames when the burner is wide open.
In addition, the invention consists in placing the central axes of the outlets for the auxiliary flames parallel to and with a spacing such that the auxiliary flames are tangent.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
to the thermo-element. In addition, the auxiliary flame outlets are arranged at a location on the cylindrical side wall of the burner body whose thickness is reduced *
The construction according to the invention of the gas burner makes it possible to supply the electromagnet of the thermoelectric ignition safety device with a relatively high voltage even when the burner is set to the minimum. This result is obtained thanks to the device of the invention with minimal expenditure for the construction, which is also advantageous for the manufacture.
The implementation of the invention will be better understood with the aid of the non-limiting example which will follow and of the appended drawing, in which: FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section of a burner for a gas oven according to the invention, comprising a thermo-element; fig. 2 is a section taken along II-II of fig.l. ;
According to fig. 1, the burner comprises a burner body 10, on which is placed a cover 11. Between the burner body 10 and the cover 11, the openings 12 for the flames are placed in known manner.
Within reach of these flames and for the large opening of the burner, approximately at the location of the flame tips, is mounted a thermo-element 13, in a known manner, which is connected to the thermoelectric ignition safety device. not shown, which regulates the flow of gas to the burner by means of a pipe 14.
For heating the thermo-element 13, the invention uses, when the burner is set to the minimum, under the openings 12 and on the body of the burner 10, two auxiliary flames which emerge from openings 16 and 16 'provided from known manner in the cylindrical side wall of the body 10 of the burner * These outlet openings 16 and 16 'made in the wall of the burner 10 opposite the outlets 12 of the burner flames are offset both inward and downward .
This shift of the auxiliary flames
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
relative to the burner flames is such in both directions that it corresponds at least to the distance between two adjacent outlets 12 of the burner flames and to the median longitudinal axis of the thermo-element 13, this axis being located in the middle of the two openings 12 and for the wide open position of the burner and approximately within reach of the flame peaks. The two outlets 16 and 16 'for the auxiliary flames are established in the cylindrical side wall of the body 10 of the burner, so as to be parallel and placed at a distance which makes the auxiliary flames tangent to the thermo-element 13.
Furthermore, the outlet openings 16 and 16 'of the auxiliary flames are made at a weakened location 17 of the cylindrical side wall of the body 10 of the burner.
The fact that the median longitudinal axis of the thermo-element 13 is located in the middle between two outlets 12 of the burner flames and at a distance which causes the median longitudinal axis of the thermo-element 13 to be within reach of the flame points when the burner is fully open. The thermo-element 13 can then be brought closer to the body 10 of the burner. As a result, the auxiliary flames issuing from the side wall of the body 10 of the burner produce the heating of the thermo-element 13 as reliably as the flames of the open burner, even when this burner is greatly reduced and can no longer produce the heating. sufficient thermal element 13.
Owing to the relatively small distance between the central longitudinal axis of the thermo-element 13 and the outlet openings 12 of the burner flames, the heating of the thermo-element 13 is better provided by the flames of the burner, even when reducing by latest. Therefore, the heating of the thermo-element takes place more extensively than hitherto by the flames of the burner itself, while the auxiliary flames ensure sufficient heating of the thermo-element especially when the burner is reduced to minimum.
Of course, it is perfectly possible to adapt the device of the invention to different sizes of the burners.
