<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

The present invention provides an improvement to the double crossing core, known as the "through-hole piece", according to main patent no. 528,633, and in particular according to claim 2 of this patent. It broadens its application mainly by the fact that the counter-rail, also called guide rail, is not in one piece with the median part of the crossover core, but forms a separate part fixed to said middle part either by tie rods, or by bead welding, or in any other suitable manner.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of an improved double crossing core according to the present invention:
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Figure 1 is a perspective view; FIG. 2, a section on a larger scale along line II-II of FIG. 1; @ Figure 3, a section on a larger scale along the line III-III of Figure 1; FIG. 4, a section of an alternative embodiment taken along line IV-IV of FIG. 1.
In figure 1, the double crossing core comprises the middle part 1 constituted by a block of special steel which has good resistance to shocks and to wear and it comprises the two points 2, 3, the ruts 4 , 5, 6, 7, including the gap between the two points (not visible), the running surfaces 8 corresponding to the bent running rail, the connecting rails 9, 10, 11, 12 and the counter- guide rail or rail 13.
By imagining the path of a mobile load engaged in a crossing core according to FIG. 1, it can be seen that the stresses exerted by the wheels are first imposed on the connecting rails 9, 10, 11, 12, welded at the ends to the central block 1 forming the middle part of the heart, and then to the bent rolling surfaces 8 and to the two points 2, 3, these three partials 8, 2 and 3 forming a projecting body with the central block 1. We take cm from the above that the causes of dislocation and, therefore, wear are excluded by the fact that all the constituent elements of the heart just listed, namely 1, 2, 3,8 9, 10, 11, 12, form a homogeneous part.
In order to deal with the increased stresses to which the treads are subjected, which are reduced in width by the ruts giving way to the beads of the wheels, the central block 1, constituting these bands, is made of a special steel having good behavior. impact and wear.
On the other hand, the counter-rail constituting a simple means of introduction and guide for the beads of the wheels, is only subjected to infinitely less strong lateral loads.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
@ than those imposed on parts 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12.
For this reason, it is formed according to the invention, by an independent piece 13 of standard quality, attached and fixed to the core by known removable fixing means, or by welding.
This solution is technically and economically advantageous, because of the simplicity of form and the relatively low cost of materials and of the machining of a lightened central block, compared to an entire block including the counter rail.
According to the invention, it is possible to use, to constitute the counter-rail 13, starting materials of any suitable profile, for example ordinary vineyard rails, rails of any angle, raised or not, of constant height or variable, the latter embodiment being shown by way of example in FIG. 1.
In accordance with the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 4, the space between the central block 1 and the counter rail 13 is filled by one or more spacers 14 of suitable cross section whatever -,., Conch, the attachment of which to the block 1 and counterail 13 is made, for example, by tie rods or by welding.
In Figure 2 the assembly of the counter rail 13 with the central block 1 and in Figure 4, that of the counter rail 13, the spacer 14 and the central block 1, are carried out by welding, while on the Figures 1 and 3 the assembly is tie rods 15, 16, 17, 18.
Another feature of the present invention is to provide a relatively wide shoe 19 protruding continuously from the part of the central block 1 forming the horizontally bent running surface 8, which allows better fixing of the subbases and toads. at any desired location in the system.
To simplify the machining, the central block 1 can be made of two halves, united in a single homogeneous part by butt welding along the line III-III of figure 1.
