<Desc/Clms Page number 1> Deze werkwijze heeft betrekking op een verbeterde werkwijze voor fotografische ontwikkeling alsook op fotografische ontwik- kelaars, en in het bijzonder voor hun gebruik in kleurenfoto- grafie volgens de bekende kleurontwikkelingsmethode. ,De p-fenyleendiaminen die als kleurontwikkelstoffen worden gebruikt zijn zeer giftig voor de huid. De oplossingen, die deze p-fenyleendiaminen bevatten, worden snel'donker door luchtoxi- datie terwijl tegelijkertijd het ontwikkelingsvermogen van zulke oplossingen afneemt. Om deze nadelen te vermijden werd voorgesteld in het mole- cule van de ontwikkelstof, hetzij in de ring, hetzij op de kool- waterstof-substituenten van de tertiaire aminogroep, zure groe- pen in te voeren waardoor de oplosbaarheid in water van de ont- wikkelstof sterk verhoogd wordt. In de meeste gevallen worden bovenvernoemde nadelen wel min of meer uitgeschakeld maar tege- lijkertijd vermindert in sterke mate het ontwikkelingsvermogen van deze verbindingen. <Desc/Clms Page number 2> Verder werd voorgesteld methyl-substituenten met zure groepen zoals sulfonzure groepen en carboxylgroepen in de vrije.aminogroepen van de ontwikkelstoffen in te voeren. Deze verbindingen zijn wel actief, maar wanneer ze gedurende lange tijd in een alkalische oplossing vertoeven hydrolyseren ze min of meer vlug tot de overeenkomstige p-fenyleendiaminen. Vooral de p-sulfonzuurmethylaminodialkylanilinen vertonen deze eigenschap. We hebben nu gevonden dat we zeer stabiele, zeer sterk in water oplosbare, voor de huid volledig onschadelijke ontwikkelstoffen kunnen bekomen door op de vrije NH2-groep van een pfenyleendiamine of van een aminofenolontwikkelstof aan -CZZ'-PO2H2-groep in te voeren. @ Volgens onderhavige uitvinding wordt een reduceerbaar zilver., zoutbeeld ontwikkeld in een oplossing die een ontwikkelstof, of een in water oplosbaar zout hiervan bevat volgens de algemene formule : Y - Ar- NH - CZZ'- PO2H2 waarin; AR- een eventueel gesubstitueerd benzeenradicaal waarin': Ar- een eventueel gesubstitueerd benzeenradicaal Y - -OH, -NH2, NHR of NRR' en op de p-plaats staat tegenover het stikstofatoom (waarin R en R'- een koolwaterstofradicaal eventueel gesubstitueerd of gebonden aan het koolstofatoom.dat zich op de . o-plaats tegenover Y bevindt, en R en R' tezamen , een heterocyclische ring kunnen vervolledigen die eventueel gesubstitueerd is; bijvoorbeeld door een hydroxy-groep of een sulfogroep) Z en Z;- alkyl, aryl of aralkyl, welke al of niet verder gesubstitueerd kunnen zijn, of waterstof. De ontwikkelstof kan ook aan het fotografisch materiaal toe- gevoegd worden, in welk geval het materiaal na belichting kan EMI3.7 ontwikkeld worden ion een nk7a-li-oplossing.get toevoegen van de <Desc/Clms Page number 4> overeenkomstige niet door -CZZ'-POH gesubstitueerde p-fenyleen- diamine aan het fotografisch materiaal gaat steeds gepaard met - een aanzienlijke desensibilisatie en sluiervorming wat met de ontwikkelstoffen van de uitvinding geenszins het geval is. De ontwikkelstoffen volgens de uitvinding kunnen gebruikt worden bij het maken van een negatief of van een omkeerbeeld door kleurontwikkeling van een belicht kleuren-fotografisch materiaal. Het zilver dat gelijktijdig ontstaat met het kleurenbeeld, als- ook het negatief zilver dat ontstaat in een omkeerwerkwijze, kan verwijderd worden. De volgende voorbeelden dienen om de uitvinding te illus- treren zonder deze hiertoe te beperken. Voorbeeld 1 Bij 23,5 g N,N-diethyl-p-fenyleendiamine in 70 cm3 aceton worden 9,4Cm3 hypofosforigzuur toegevoegd. Een tamelijk hevige reactie treedt op en alles wordt kristallijn. Na toevoegen van 100 cm3 aceton wordt gedurende 2 h verwarmd op waterbad. Het bekomen neerslag wordt afgezogen en gewassen met aceton en ether. EMI4.1 Men verkrijgt 33 g 0{ - (p..diethylamino ) -anilinoisopropylhypofos- fiet volgens de formule EMI4.2 (C2H5 )N..¯t..C (C¯ 3 j. Smpt. : 218 C. Hetzelfde produkt wordt bekomen wanneer N,N-diethyl-p- fenyleendiaminesulfaat en natriumhypofosfiet opgelost worden in 90% ethanol.Het gevormde Na2SO4 wordt afgezogen en de ethanol verdampt. Na toevoegen van aceton en even opwarmen EMI4.3 kristalliseert het c( (p-diethy1amino )-ani1inoisopropy1hypo- fosfiet. Voorbeeld 2 EMI4.4 2,6 g vers gedestilleerd N,N-diethy1-p-feny1eendiamine en 12 cm3 hypofosforigzuur worden gedurende 6 h verwarmd op kokend waterbad in 100 cm3 diaceton-alcohol. <Desc/Clms Page number 5> EMI5.1 Na afkoelen worden 23 g zeer zuiver 2(4"diethylamin<o)anilino- 4-hydroxy-f.-methyl-pentaáh-2-hypofosforigiuur volgens de formule EMI5.2 afgezogen. Smpt. : 210 C. Voorbeeld 3 EMI5.3 1634 g NN-diethyl-p-fenyleendiamine, 8 cm3 hypofosforigzuur en 70 cm3 methylethylketon.worden gedurende 6 h"op kokend water- bad verwarmd. Er kristalliseert 26 g 2-(4-d:Lethylamino)-anilino- butaan-2-hypofosforigzuur volgens de formule EMI5.4 Na omkristallisatie uit een mengsel aceton/ethanol smelt dit produkt op 208 C. Voorbeeldje EMI5.5 22,9 g N.-hydroxyethyl-N-ethyl-p.fenyleendiami.nesulfaat worden opgelost in 50 cm3 ethanol 90 %. Hierbij worden 100 cm2 van een oplossing van 10,6 g NaH2PO2. H2O in ethanol 90 % toe- gevoegd. Na 1 h verwarmen wordt het gevormde Na2SO4 afgezogen, het filtraat geconcentreerd en 100 cm3 aceton worden toegevoegd. Na 4 h verwarmen op het waterbad is er 25 g zeer zuiver (p- hydroxyethyl-ethylamino)-anilinoisopropylhypofosfiet volgens de formule EMI5.6 gevormd*. Smpt. : 216 c. <Desc/Clms Page number 6> Voorbeeld 5 EMI6.1 12 , 9 g (1/20 mol) 2-ethoxy-4-diethylamino-aniline (Kpt. 1,5 mm 116-1180). worden samen met 4 g (1/20 mol) hypofosforig- zuur in 100 cm3 aceton gedurende 12 h op waterbad verwarmd* Na afdampen van de overmaat aceton blijft er een kleverige massa over,velke door behandelen met alcohol en ether overgaat in EMI6.2 het zeer hygroscopische 4(2---thoxy-1,-diethylamino)-anilinoiso- propylhypofosfiet volgens de formule EMI6.3 Voorbeeld 6 3 g p-aminofenylpyrrolidinesulfaat worden, in een oplossing van,150 cm3 alcohol en 50 cm3 water, behandeld met 1, 5 g natrium- hypofosfiet. Na 4 h verwarmen wordt het gevormde natriumsulfaat afgefiltreerd en de alcohol afgedestilleerd onder verminderde druk. Het residu wordt apgenomen in 100 cm3 aceton en 4 h op waterbad EMI6.4 verwarmd. 3 g 4(y-pyrrolidino)-anilinoisopropylhypofosfiet vol- gens de formule EMI6.5 worden afgezogen en achtereenvolgens gewassen met aceton en ether. Smpt. : 19i8 C. Voorbeeld 7 10.9 g p-aminofenol worden opgelost in 100 cm3 aceton. Bij toevoegen van 6,6 g hypofosforigzuur valt er een wit kristallijn neerslag uit. EMI6.6 Na 4 h verder verwarmen wordt 19 g 0( - (p-hydroxy- ) anilino- isopropylhypofosfiet bekomen volgens de formule <Desc/Clms Page number 7> EMI7.1 dat opgelost wordt in NaOH N en hieruit kristalliseert door toe- EMI7.2 voeging van az3.jnzuur. Smpj,, 250 C. Voorbeeld 8 " Een zilverbromidejodide-gelatineemulsielaag wordt ontwikkeld in een bad van de volgende samenstelling ; EMI7.3 <tb> ontwikkelstof <SEP> volgens <SEP> voorbeeld <tb> <tb> 1,2,3,4,5,6 <SEP> of <SEP> 7 <SEP> 5 <SEP> g <tb> EMI7.4 metol (methyl-p-aminófenylsulàat) 2 g EMI7.5 <tb> natriumsulfit <SEP> (krist.) <SEP> 120 <SEP> g <tb> <tb> <tb> <tb> trinatriumfosfaat <SEP> 3,5 <SEP> g <tb> <tb> <tb> <tb> kaliumbromide <SEP> 1 <SEP> g <tb> <tb> <tb> <tb> water <SEP> tot <SEP> 1000 <SEP> cm3 <tb> gewassen, gefixeerd, opnieuw gewassen en gearooga. Men bekomt; een fi jnkorrel-zwartwit .-beeld. Als bindmiddel voor het zilverhalogenide kunnen naast gelatine ook collodium, een waterdoorlaatbare cellulose-ester of een ander waterdoorlaatbaar synthetisch hars worden gebruikt. Voorbeeld 9 EMI7.6 Een zilverhalogenide-gelatineemulsielaag wordt, na belich- ting, ontwikkeld in een bad van de volgende samenstelling : EMI7.7 a I K.Leuronta..r.tKKeJ.S1iOl" voigans vooroeey. Men bekomt een positief kleurenbeeld. Voorbeeld 11 Een fotografisch meerlagenmateriaal zoals beschreven in voorbeeld 10, dat sensibilisatoren en diffusievaste kleurstof- vormers bevat, wordt na belichting onmiddellijk ontwikkeld in het bovengemelde kleurontwikkelbad en verder behandeld zoals in <Desc/Clms Page number 9> voorbeeld 10. Het gevormde negatieve kleurenbeeld kan op een overeenkomstig meerlagenmateriaal gekopieerd worden en op de zelfde wijze behandeld zoals voor de vervaardiging van het negatief,waarbij een positief afdrukbeeld bekomen wordt.

- CONCLUSIES 1. Werkwijze voor ontwikkeling van een beeld uit reduceerbaar zilverzout in een fotografische zilverhalogenide-emulsie- laag, daardoor gekenmerkt, dat deze laag in een ontwikkelaar wordt behandeld die een verbinding bevat volgens de alge- mene formule Y - Ar - NH - CZZ'- PO2H2 waarin Ar = een eventueel gesubstitueerd benzeenradicaal EMI10.1 Y =* -OH, -NH29 NHR of NRR en op de p-plaats.staat tegenover het stikstofatoom (waarin R en R'0 een @ koolwaterstofradicaal eventueel gesubstitueerd of gebonden aan het koolstof atoom dat zich op de o-plaats tegenover Y bevindt, en R en R' tezamen een heterocyclische ring kunnen vervolledigen die eventueel gesubstitueerd is, bijvoorbeeld door een hydroxygroep of een sulfogroep) Z en Z' = alkyl, aryl of aralkyl, welke al of niet verder gesubstitueerd kunnen zijn,of waterstof.2. Werkwijze voor het vervaardigen van een kleurenbeeld door ont- wikkeling van een beeld uit reduceerbaar zilverzout in een fotografische zilverhalogenide-emulsielaag, daardoor gekenmerkt, dat gezegde laag in aanwezigheid van een kleurstofvormer be- handeld wordt in een ontwikkelaar die een verbinding bevat zoals beschreven in conclusie 1.3.
