Suivant une autre caractéristique de l'invention, ladite lame est montée sur un support rigide qui est lui-même sollicité vers la courroie ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
'Selon une variante de l'invention, c'est le support rigide 6 qui pivote avec la lame autour d'un axe horizontal, les tâteurs 2 pouvant être fixés sur le support 6.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

The present invention relates to the cleaning of endless belts or bands used for the continuous transport of bulk products.
It is known that, in this mode of transport, the products to be transported are deposited on the belt itself and remain in contact with it during transport to the point of discharge where they are generally discharged by gravity.
When the product to be transported is more or less sticky, for example if it contains wet particles, a film of product remains stuck to the belt after the spill. The result is that the belt in turn deposits particles of the product on the components which are in contact with its carrying face, such as for example the lower rollers supporting the return run of the belt, the tension drums, etc ...
A film is thus formed on these components which can thicken rapidly and irregularly, and which has the effect of causing the well-known drawback of lateral displacement of the belt, and the serious consequences which result therefrom. more, the products driven by the belt end up settling on the path of the lower strand below this strand until they rub against the belt, which aggravates the above drawbacks, and in any case gives a messy installation requiring frequent cleaning.
The known remedies are often imperfect, sometimes too expensive, requiring too much maintenance, and most of the time dangerous for the belt itself,
Steel blades several millimeters thick are frequently used, the field of which is strongly pressed perpendicular to the load-bearing side of the belt, after the discharge drum. This system is imperfect, and fails to detach fine particles; it often even has the effect of embedding some of these particles in the canvas; the belt is subjected to a certain abrasion and if, for an external cause, it presents a tear on the load-bearing side, this tear is often aggravated by the scraper without the supervisors of the installation being able to easily pick it up. realize.
The scrapers consisting of a rubber band pressed on the belt wear out very quickly and are quickly ineffective.
It is also known to use, for the proposed purpose, devices comprising fixed or rotating brushes; these devices are subject to rapid fouling which renders them ineffective and are expensive.
The present invention aims to provide a simple and effective scraper device, easy to assemble and compact, limiting the dangers of deterioration of the belt and which can even serve as a tear detector.
The invention relates to a device for cleaning the belt of a conveyor belt comprising at least one blade applied transversely against the surface of the strip to be cleaned, characterized in that said blade is a thin strip in extra hard material, disposed with respect to the surface of said strip at an angle less than 25, the cutting edge being directed towards the portion of the strip which approaches the blade so as to shave the strip almost tangentially over the entire width of the strip. portion of strip capable of being soiled, and said blade is provided with feelers constituted by rigid projecting parts, fixed by one of their sides to the blade or to its support, their opposite end, free, brushing against the front belt that it does not pass over the scraper blade.
Preferably, said angle is greater than 10,
According to another characteristic of the invention, said blade is mounted on a rigid support which is itself urged towards the belt;
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
an elastic member or a set of elastic members is interposed over the entire length of the blade, between the blade and the rigid support.
The elasticity of this blade is thus used in the direction perpendicular to its plane to make it conform to the shape of the belt.
Preferably, the blade and its rigid support are mounted on an elastic and / or articulated support applying the blade to the surface of the strip, but deforming in the event of an abnormal force exerted on the blade, this deformation having the effect of move the blade away from the surface of the belt.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the blade can also be mounted to rotate on a horizontal axis; en.case of catching the blade or a feeler in a tear of the belt, the blade can also pivot about this axis, which avoids enlarging said tear.
Other characteristics and advantages will emerge during the description which follows.
In the accompanying drawing: FIG. 1 shows, in elevation, in longitudinal section relative to the belt, a scraping device according to the invention. Fig. 2 shows schematically, in plan, an embodiment of the invention seen from above, the belt being assumed to be removed. Figs. 3 and 4 are schematic views of two embodiments showing two examples of a suspension device which can be used in the cleaning device according to the invention.
According to FIG. 1, on a conveyor belt C which moves in the direction of arrow f1 'rests a blade 1 made of a hard and flexible material, such as steel, of such a quality, or having undergone a treatment. such that it is particularly resistant to wear by friction and abrasion.
This blade extends over the entire width of the belt, or at least over the entire width of the portion liable to be soiled by the materials transported. It can have any suitable thickness and width, for example. a length of the order of a meter if the belt has this width, a width of a few centimeters, a thickness of the order of a millimeter or a few millimeters, these dimensions being cited only to fix ideas. On this blade are fixed by welding, riveting or gluing several feelers 2 made of steel or similar material, composed of a part 3 in front of the blade, on the scraping side, the end 3a of which is at a very short distance from the belt, and a flat part 4 behind the blade, pierced with a horizontal hole 4a.
One or more round steel pins 5 integral with a rigid support 6 pass through these holes 4 and through corresponding holes in the legs 6a, the assembly forming a hinge and allowing the blade 1 to pivot around the pin or pins 5, so that if the blade catches in a slight tear in the belt C, it initiates a rotation around the axis 5; but then the feelers 2 enter ancontact by their end 3a with the belt and hold the blade, preventing the latter from accentuating the tear. If this tear is large, the blade will turn completely over and it will be necessary to repair the belt.
Parts 3 and 4 can be independent from each other.
'According to a variant of the invention, it is the rigid support 6 which pivots with the blade about a horizontal axis, the feelers 2 being able to be fixed on the support 6.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
A strip of foam rubber 7 is interposed between the blade and the support 6, and a force is exerted on said support in the direction of arrow F, that is to say towards the belt, by means of springs or con - treweight (not shown), or a device of the type of those shown in Figures 3 and 4 which will be described below. This force is therefore transmitted to the blade via the axis 5 and the foam rubber 7. Thanks to the elasticity of this material, the blade can accept slight deformations in the direction perpendicular to the belt, and remain in contact with said belt, even if the latter is not absolutely flat.
According to other embodiments of the invention, the foam rubber is replaced by an elastic member or a set of elastic members of any kind, for example a flexible material tube (rubber, plastic) filled with a fluid. Quelcongue, air or water for example, a strip of plastic material other than rubber, a series of coil springs, a series of leaf springs.
The scraper blade can also be made up of two blades glued, welded or riveted against each other. It can be made up of separate parts.
According to the mounting method shown in FIG. 2, the scraping blade 1 mounted with its feelers is provided with four flat parts 4, hinging around the axis 5, which passes through the tabs 6a fixed on the support 6.
Each end of the supports 6 can be fixed on a deformable elastic support, two examples of which are given in FIGS. 3 and 4.
According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, two flexible blades
8, substantially parallel, and perpendicular to the arrow F are connected on one side to a fixed frame A, on the other side to one end of the support 6 by means of a flat iron 9. A spring 10 fixed d 'a c8té in 10a to the mobile unit, and the other in 10 to a fixed point of the installation, serves to put the assembly under tension. In this way, if the blade 1 receives a force greater than this tension, the support 6 moves in the direction of the arrow f, thus moving away from the belt, and allowing the blade 1 to disengage or to move away. return.
According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 4, the end of the support 6 is fixed on a flat bar 11 sliding between four rollers 12 and biased by a spring 13 tensioned between a point 13a of this bar and a fixed point 13b, the assembly being arranged so as to apply the blade 1 against the belt, but to move the blade away from the belt if said blade receives too much pressure.
At the limit of the chosen setback, the moving equipment can actuate a contactor controlling an audible warning device, for example, or stopping the belt. A snap-fastening system can be provided to keep the movable equipment in its low position when it has been moved in an abnormal manner following a catch.
The return springs 10 and 13 can obviously be replaced by return members of another type, for example by weight and return pulley devices.
Several scraper assemblies can also be arranged one after the other, with each scraper blade cleaning only part of the belt.
It is also understood, in general, that the invention is not limited to the embodiments described and shown which are given only by way of example.
