<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

longitudinaux 2-%t une nervure, respectivement ,i-,2.
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

It is well known to those skilled in the art that marble work presents serious difficulties in the many cases of junction between elements arranged in different planes, in particular at the right of the adjacent arrangement of two walls, walls, plinths. or others when, in particular, this junction is effected by a rounded convex or concave element or any particular decorative profile. In fact, such a junction involves the interposition, between the adjacent flat elements, of an intermediate piece of marble due to be profiled, the execution of which is relatively delicate and in any case expensive.
Because of this high price, we have almost systematically abandoned such a rounded or profiled junction by losing,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
ipso facto, all avamages of such a provision. However, these advantages are not only aesthetic but also technical and hygienic. In fact, the rectilinear junction between two adjacent planes is always random, interstices remaining between the juxtaposed elements with all the drawbacks that this entails. From a hygienic point of view, it is well known that the angular arrangements of adjacent planes determine the corners of concentration of dust and foreign bodies which are often difficult to remove and create, in any case, a disorder for normal cleaning from premises.
On the other hand, the junction by rounded elements systematically eliminates these drawbacks.
The device according to the invention consists of a metal junction piece, preferably of aluminum treated surface or not, and this junction piece is such that it not only achieves the concave, convex or other desired rounding but that it is conditioned in such a way that being simp. If interposed between the two adjacent angular parts, it is automatically immobilized, systematically, against any untimely movement either forwards or backwards.
For this purpose, the rounded junction element proper comprises, on its dorsal face, close to - but at a certain distance from the longitudinal edges, at least one rib such that it produces with said longitudinal edges an arrangement of two planes. angularly arranged covering the corresponding part of the two adjacent elements, so as to thus form an energetic double wedging. The visible surface of this particular junction piece capable of being industrially manufactured can have any shape, any aspect or any color, in harmony or in contrast with the adjacent elements, which makes it possible to further achieve and multiply the architectural effects. .
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Substantially, but without any limiting nature, the junction device according to the invention will therefore consist of a transversely curved metal strip whose dorsal face has, at least near the two longitudinal edges, a rib.
The invention extends to any generally unspecified interpretation of this fundamental embodiment, either by variations in the execution of the transversely curved strip, or by variations resulting from the number, dimensions and relative position of the ribs. backbone in proportion to the work to be performed.
By way of example, executions are described in some detail below, with reference to the appended drawings in which: FIG. 1 represents in perspective view a junction device according to the invention; Figure 2 shows a cross section through an application; FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the application of FIG. 2; Figures 4 and 5 show, in cross section, two. variants of execution.
In the execution of Figures 1 to 3, the device is produced by the junction element itself. 1, formed by a strip of aluminum treated or not, curved transversely and concave relative to the visible face of the junction, this element comprising, on its dorsal face, near the edges

longitudinal 2-% t a rib, respectively, i-, 2. The thickness JIIt of the transversely curved strip 1 is a fraction of the thickness. seur of the adjacent elements to be joined and the height of the ribs 4-5 will generally be less than the thickness of said elements to be joined.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
As more specifically shown in FIG. 2, this joining device is such that said dorsal ribs 4-5 come to be placed on the corresponding ends 6-7 of the adjacent elements to be joined, respectively 8-9. Generally, the parts of said transversely curved strip 1 included between
EMI4.1
the longitudinal edges 2¯-, and said ribs.dorsales -2 will be fitted in pans, respectively 10-11, cut from said adjacent elements 8-9. In this way, perfect continuity will be achieved between the visible front face of said elements 8- and the front face of the junction device.
The strip 1 could, as shown diagrammatically by way of example in FIG. 4, be curved so as to present its convexity or else, as diagrammed in FIG. 5, this strip could be kept rectilinear, in which case it would be straightened towards its two longitudinal edges 2-3 so as to form two angular branches, respectively 12-13.
We can obviously give this junction device any dimensions appropriate to the work to be performed.
However, these junction elements could be made of any suitable material: metal, plastic or other material, the invention more specifically provides for the industrial and economical execution of aluminum profiles or aluminum alloys treated in. surface or not.
