avoids the clutch, eliminates the displacement of gears for the reverse gear and allows a change of speed only using the pedal for the gases,
This device is characterized essentially in that it comprises, in the main order, an epicyclic train driven by two motors, one of which is connected with the outer ring of the gearbox and the other with the gears.
In the practical embodiment of the invention, use is made of a gearbox into which enter on the one hand a drive shaft connected to a motor and on the other hand a shaft in connection with a set of wheels of a vehicle 'and the box carries an outer ring in connection with a second engine.
Each of the motors is related to a single pedal which can be operated either vertically or horizontally.
In order to make the invention clearly understood and to highlight other characteristics of the invention, an exemplary embodiment will be described below with reference to the appended drawings in which:
Figure 1 is a schematic view of the assembly @ the transmission.
Figure, 2 is an elevational view and partially in section of the single pedal device.
Figure 3 is a section through the line III-III in Figure 2.
In Figure 1 of the attached drawings, a gearbox is represented at 1 in which enter through bearings 2 and 3 shafts 4 and 5, one of which, the shaft 4 is a motor shaft connected to a motor M and the other shaft 5 of which is in

and between these are interposed planet gears
8 and 9 rotating freely on a shaft 10.
According to the invention, the box 1 comprises an outer ring 11 which is engaged with a toothed pinion 12 wedged on the shaft 13 connected to a motor M '.
The motor M is connected by a flexible 14 to the accelerator pedal 15 and the motor M is connected to this same pedal by means of a flexible 16.
The pedal 15 is connected by an arm 17 (fig. 2) to a box 18 which can oscillate in the fixed frame 19 by means of pins 2C and which is provided with a projection 21 to which the flexible 14 is connected.
On the other hand, the arm 17 can pivot around an axis 22 carried by the housing 18 and ends with a finger 23 to which the cable 16 is attached.
The pedal 15 is therefore designed in such a way that it can receive either a movement in the vertical plane or a movement in the horizontal plane so that with a single pedal, it is therefore possible to act on one or the other of the motors. or on both engines.
The arrows N1 C1, N2 C2 and N3 C3 indicate by convention the directions of rotation respectively of the shaft 4 of the gearbox; and of the shaft 5 as well as the positive directions of the torques applied from the outside to the devices.
N1, N2, N3 are the numbers of revolutions per minute respectively of the shaft 4 of the box and of the shaft 5, C1, C2, C3 are the torques applied to the outside of these elements.
It is clear that if the couple C3 is a resistant couple, it will normally have the opposite sign of N3; on the other hand, the internal combustion engines always rotating in the same direction Ni and N2 will always be positive. As for N3, it can be positive (forward) zero (stop) or negative (reverse

Under these conditions, we understand if the .3: F :; L turns 3. a speed p.::.r example of 2,000 bears and v: ... .v also at 2,000 turns, the driven shaft? remains stationary 3-0 The vehicle is therefore stationary. The same will apply for any other number of revolutions when the two motors M and M 'rotate at the same speed.
If, for example, the motor M is given a speed of 2200 revolutions and the motor M 'a speed of 2000 revolutions, the receiving shaft 5 then turns at 200 revolutions. The shaft 5 will therefore have the speed which results from the difference, from the point of view of the number of revolutions, between the two motors; the torque effect increases, the vehicle moves forward (arrow N3 C3),
To achieve powerful torque reverse, it is obvious that you must first run both motors at an equal and high speed and then accelerate the M motor more than the M motor.
The motor M can be considered as the main motor, its acceleration is done in a normal way by the movement of the pedal 15 in the vertical direction (tilting by means of the pivots 20) the acceleration of the motor M 'is done by the horizontal displacement of this pedal (tilting around axis 22).
So the different movements of the vehicle are obtained with a single pedal which is usually actuated by the right foot, either vertically or horizontally.
It should be noted that at the location where the pinion 12 is mounted, the shaft 13 can advantageously be handled by conner

will move in the direction of arrow F and by acting on 27 it will produce an ignition advance allowing the engine M 'to be braked
Contact 26 corresponds to normal ignition.
The main advantages of this device are as follows: 1.- Possibility of completely eliminating the clutch, 2.- 'No shifting of gears for reverse gear, 3. - Speed changes are only made using of the gas pedal.
4.- No hydraulically controlled movements, 5 '.- Possibility of braking by means of the motor even for high speeds.
6.- No friction members.
