<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

"Case or the like"
The invention relates to a crate or the like, more especially a cargo crate or container, as used for the transport of goods.
Large transport cases are generally formed by means of bolts or tourniquets, which, however, have the drawback that it is not difficult to unscrew some or open the other with the aid of. relatively simple tools, which is the cause of theft and / or fraudulent opening of the cash registers.
The object of the invention is to construct a box of this type, so as to minimize the danger of fraudulent opening of the box.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by virtue of the fact that the cover and at least one of the side walls of the box are provided with means for fixing the cover relative to the walls.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
lateral, these means can be controlled from the outside using specially manufactured tools.
In this way, a double closing, so to speak, is obtained, while a special tool necessary for the control of said means constitutes an additional guarantee against the fraudulent opening of the cash register.
According to one embodiment of the invention at least one of the side walls is provided with a knocked-out part, in which a locking rod is rotatably mounted, which rod can be rotated from the outside by means of a suitable special tool, while a cam or protrusion attached to the rod may engage behind a rim of the cover during this angular movement of the rod.
The length of the rod is chosen, .de such that the control means thereof are located near the bottom of the body.
Said rod forms the first of the aforesaid closures and since transport cases and the like are generally placed between other transport cases or other objects, it is therefore already very difficult to access the control means, and by elsewhere, the need for special tools to rotate the rod makes opening the box virtually impossible.
Preferably, the locking rod is provided, at the end opposite to the locking cam, with a projection or spout which can cooperate with a movable element in the side wall and housed in a recess thereof, which nut is supported by a threaded spindle and can be screwed or unscrewed by acting from the outside, through a hole in the wall, by means of a suitable special hole, in order to cause the angular movement of the rod lock.,
During rotation of the locking rod, the locking cam
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
lock attached thereto is also rotated, which allows to establish or release the connection between the cover and the side wall.
In order to allow the rotation of the locking rod, a plate is screwed onto the lower part of the side wall and a threaded pin, perpendicular to said plate, is fixed thereto, for example by riveting, while 'a cylindrical nut can move on this spindle and is provided with a peripheral groove, into which engages the projection or control spout of the locking rod, said nut being enclosed in a housing and attachable from the outside, through an opening, using a suitable special tool, in which the nut is provided with a projection or head, for example with a pentagonal section.
The second closure is formed by a nut fixed to a peripheral rim of the cover and in which can move a bolt which is provided with a head and can engage under a rim, a rib or the like of the side wall of the cover. ! crate, so that the conveyor can be attached to this side wall.
For this purpose, the peripheral edge of the cover is provided with a part forced outwards, in which the gold is fixed, for example by welding, so that the movable bolt in the nut is not can be achieved only by means of a suitable special tool, in order to rotate it.
Said bolt is, like the nut in the first closure, provided with a head, for example with a pentagonal section.
By way of demonstration, an exemplary embodiment of the invention will be described below with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view, partially in section, of the first closure according to the invention, and
Figure 2 is a perspective view, partially in section, of the second closure, with suitable control means.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The example illustrated relates to the case where the bottom of the body is provided with means for the removable fixing of the side walls to said bottom. For this purpose, the bottom is provided with raised sides 1 with an edge 3 folded towards the outside, which is cut out in places, so as to form openings 6, in which can be engaged the @aillies of the walls. sides, which are not shown especially, so that the side walls can be fixed to the bottom of the body by a small longitudinal displacement, in the manner of a bayonet lock. The side wall is provided at its base with a U-shaped part, the arms 3 and 4 of which embrace the raised side 1 and the folded edge 5.
When the side walls 4 have been fixed to the bottom of the body, they are fixed between them, at the angles or at at least one of the angles, using means more or less known per se.
The box thus formed can then be filled. When the crate is not in use, the side walls can be detached and stacked in the bottom of the crate. The lid of the box then covers the bottom in the form of a bowl, so that the assembly occupies only a very small volume. At least one of the side walls 2 is provided with one or more places, a channel-shaped knockout 7, in which a locking rod 8 is rotatably mounted. At its lower end, this rod 8 is provided with a control spout 9, while at its upper end it is provided with: a locking cam 10.
Under the effect of an angular displacement of the rod, which can be produced from the outside in a way which will be described later, the locking cam 10 can be turned so as to fix the cover of the rod. crate at the side wall. In the example illustrated, the rotation of the rod is produced by means of a cylindrical nut 12. This nut is mounted on a threaded spindle 11 which is fixed to the side wall by riveting or in another way. In order to achieve a simple assembly this is done, in the illustrated example, by riveting the. threaded pin 11 on a
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
separate plate 17 which is fixed to the wall 2 by means of screws. or other means.
In order to be able to turn the nut 12, the latter is provided with a projection or head 13 which has, for example, a pentagonal section. This protrusion is in a cutout in the side wall 2 and can only be turned using a suitable special tool. The nut is mounted in a casing 16 which has, on the outside, an opening 15 for the introduction of the tool necessary to turn the nut 12, while an inwardly directed flange prevents the nut does not come off the spindle
11 when unscrewing.
The cover 18 is provided with a rim 19 which embraces the edge of the side wall 2, while a strip or rib 19 'is provided at a certain distance from the rim 19 and can cooperate with the locking cam 10.
In the drawing, the locking cam 10 occupies a position such that it rests on the strip 19 '. The cover 18 cannot be removed in this case. When the nut 12 is rotated, it drives the control spout 9 which enters the peripheral groove 14 of the nut. When the nut 12 is moved outwards, the locking rod will therefore also be rotated and the locking cam 10 will thus be released from the strip 19 '. The cover 18 can then be removed.
The length of the locking rod 8 is chosen such that the nut 12 is placed near the bottom of the body, that is to say that the access opening 15 is located near the lower edge of the body. - side wall 2. When the transport box is placed between other boxes or another load, the opening 15 can therefore be hardly reached and it will be very painful to open the box, which prevents fraud, especially since it is necessary to use a special tool in order to be able to turn the nut 12.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
The box according to the invention is provided with a second closure which is mounted in the cover 18. A nut;, -. 1 'is welded or otherwise fixed to the rim 19 of the cover 18 and a bolt 22 is screwed. in this nut. Said bolt is provided with a head or protrusion 24 which preferably has a pentagonal section, and an opening formed in the rim 19 of the cover 18 allows the bolt to be rotated 22. An inwardly projecting rim 20 prevents that the bolt 22 does not escape to the outside when it is unscrewed and, for this purpose, the bolt is provided with a shoulder 23.
When the bolt 22 is screwed inwards, it engages under a strip or rib 25 of the side wall 2, so that the cover
