<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
' vues pour empêcher les projections de matériaux dans le mécanisme.
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

"Spraying apparatus for mortar, concrete and the like"
The invention relates to a spraying apparatus for mortar, concrete and the like. It is especially aimed at establishing an apparatus of this kind which does not require the use of compressed air or water, and which works practically without the production of dust, while being of simple construction and safe operation.
To this end, the invention provides an apparatus of this type obtaining two endless conveyor belts arranged at least approximately parallel one above the other and provided with means for driving them at high speed in opposite directions, the front ends of the tapes lying practically in the same vertical plane and the upper tape being shorter than the lower tape, so as to release the end
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
back of the latter in order to be able to deposit the mortar or the like therein, said upper strip being suspended so that, while tending to rest on the lower strip under the effect of its own weight, it can however be lifted under the effect of materials introduced between the two ribbons. , '.
Other features and advantages of the apparatus according to the invention will emerge from the description of an executive example which will be given below, purely for demonstration purposes, with reference to the appended drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a plan view, partially in section, of an exemplary embodiment of the apparatus according to the invention; , Figure 2 is a side view, partially in section, of this apparatus, and Figure 3 is a sectional view along, line III-III of Figure 1, on a reduced scale.
The illustrated apparatus comprises a base plate 1 which has a central opening 2 extending substantially beneath the entire lower strip, to allow discharge of material which may possibly escape from the strips.
Four uprights 3 are fixed on the plate 1 and support two '' pairs' '' of parallel tubes 4,5 which are fixed there by means of set screws, such as, 6. Ces'tubes pass through and are fixed to bearings 2,: said tubes being for example divided into two sections screwed into these bearings. Rods 8, 9 are freely engaged in tubes' 4, 5 and their anterior end is fixed, for example screwed in a bearing 10. The drums 11, 12 over which the lower strip 13 passes, are mounted for rotation in the bearings 7, 10 and are preferably lined with a coating 14 in rubber or other material increasing adhesion to the tape and preventing slippage thereof.
The end of the rods 8, 9 is located at a certain distance inside the tubes 4, 5 and undergoes the action of pressure screws 15 which allow to
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
adjust the ribbon tansion.
The upper belt 16 is mounted in a similar manner on drums 17, 18 doors by bearings 19,; ': 0 ...
20 are fixed to tubes 21 which are crossed by rods 22 on which the pressure screws 23 act.
Two connecting rods 24 are mounted on journals provided on the bearings 7 and 20 and constitute an articulated connection between the two ribbon mounts, which are provided, at their front part, with a vertical guide, for example consisting of two plates. . 25 attached to one of these mounts, for example to the lower bearings 10. The upper ribbon mount, which tends to fall back onto the lower ribbon mount, can thus move vertically relative to the latter. It can, for example, - rest, in the state of rest, on the end of the anterior uprights 3, by means of blocks (not shown) fixed on the lower tubes 21 and possibly of adjustable thickness .
The tapes are driven in opposite directions and at the same speed. In the example illustrated, the drum 12 is rotated, for example by a flexible shaft drive, or by a motor mounted on a base plate which can be rotated. fixed in an adjustable position on the lower tubes 4, and connected by belts to the pulley 26 fixed to the shaft of the drum 12.
This fixing of the motor can be done using four lugs integral with its base plate and sliding on the tubes 4, which can be wedged on them using clamping screws.
The adjustable mounting allows easy adjustment of the tension of the drive belts. A gear with toothed wheels 27, 8 attached to the shafts of drums 12 and 18, provides simultaneous driving of ribbons 13 and 16. The flanges of drums 12 and 18 are preferably conical to automatically return the ribbons into place.
Pairs of side protective sheets 9, 30 are pre-
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
'views to prevent material from being thrown into the mechanism.
The sheets 29, 30 partially overlap to ensure this effect dans'toutes vertical positions of the tape 16, during operation. Each of these sheets is formed. of two parts, such as 29, 29a, the contiguous edges of which also overlap, so as to be able to follow the relative movement of the bearings when acting on the adjusting screws 23.
A casing 31, indicated schematically in broken lines, covers the entire mechanism and is provided, at the front, with a flared opening 32 in. To allow passage to the projected materials 33.
A hopper 34 allows these materials to be deposited on the end, released from the lower strip 13 which extends over a certain distance behind the upper strip 16, which is shorter.
A casing 35 surrounds the gear 27, 28, this casing being for example fixed to the corresponding connecting rod 24; .it may be established in two parts, one of which constitutes a removable cover.
When mortar, concrete or the like is deposited by the hopper 34 on the tape 13, @ it is driven by the latter and ensui. te by the two tapes 13, 16 until the exit of the apparatus. When the ribbons are returned, the material is projected in a jet 33, under the combined effect of the speed acquired and of the centrifugal force. If an item of abnormal size, for example up to 25 mm. approximately, penetrates between the ribbons, the upper tape 16 can be lifted, thanks to the presence of the connecting rods 24 and the freedom of movement of the upper crew in the vertical direction.
Indeed, under the action of the resistance offered by this abnormally large element, the connecting rod will pivot to the right around the axis of the bearing 7, the toothed wheel 28 rolling on the toothed wheel 27 until said element can. pass between the ribbons:
The device makes it possible in particular to perform the rapid plastering and cementing of large surfaces, the repair of concrete structures (exploded concrete, exposed reinforcements, etc.). filling
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
concrete or mortar in places that are difficult to access, spraying mortar for repairing ovens in high heat, consolidating in coal mines, walls, porches, etc.
An industrial application apparatus can already be produced in dimensions of the order of 30 x 30 x 80 cm., With a 1 HP motor. Its weight only reached 60 k. approximately and can be halved if it does not include an engine. It is therefore understood that the apparatus can be easily moved, which constitutes an appreciable practical advantage.
It goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the example described and illustrated, to which various modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the invention.
