<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

IMPROVEMENT OF SELF-INJECTING BULBS IN P LASTIC MATERIAL.
The invention relates to self-injectable plastic ampoules, in order to improve both the means of use and the means of manufacturing these ampoules.
It is known that in emergency cases, such as cardiac syncopes, - poisonous bites, - emergency cases outside the presence of a health service (exploration, sport, war), it is necessary to perform very quickly an injection for which, before the creation of the auto-injectable ampoules, it was necessary to use: - a syringe, - a needle, - an ampoule, - a sterilization device
The bundling of these elements resulted in difficulties and loss of time due to the conditions of inconvenience. The self-injectable ampoule groups all the elements to make a hypodermic injection without calling on external elements and in a minimum of time.
The object of the invention is to bring certain improvements to existing embodiments.
A preferred embodiment of the subject of the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of a bulb according to the invention
Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view along the line II-II of Figure 1.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
As shown in figure 1, the attachment of the needle m is provided without a base. The tube of the needle is, as shown in m ', mandrel ridged or soft at its base, so as to ensure good retention in the plastic material, at much less costly conditions than the needle with a base whose fixing offers certain difficulties.
Furthermore, the tapered end of the needle penetrates deeply into an elastic housing of the cap c, the inner diameter of which is slightly less than the outer diameter of the needle tube and covers the latter over a large part. This results in an absolute seal and the compression of the air contained in the top of the ampoule prevents any penetration of liquid into the needle. The housing of the tapered part of the needle can be made either in the material of the ampoule a, or in a similar flexible material b added in the bottom of the cap
To facilitate the molding of the thin parts of the bulb, longitudinal ribs n (in the direction of injection) are provided in sufficient number for the correct feeding of the parts without compromising flexibility *
For the same purpose,
on the circular base intended to be clamped for welding s, a bead o is provided, this bead has the great advantage of providing a supply of material for the welds having to be done with a torch because of the nature of the material used. This is the case with a material such as polyethylene, the angle of which at high frequency is extremely low and does not allow in-depth electrical welding.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the arrangements described above; it embraces all variations based on the same principles.
CLAIMS.
Auto-injectable ampoules of plastic, exhibiting the following characteristics, taken separately or in combination:
1) The needle tube is fixed during molding or hot directly in the plastic material without interposition of the base.
2) The tapered end of the needle is tightly capped by the same cap that fits on the outer part of the ampoule.
3) Reinforcing ribs are made for the good coming of the molding of the parts without compromising the flexibility.
** ATTENTION ** end of DESC field can contain start of CLMS **.
