<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
L'ensemble 1-2 constitue
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

COMPANY FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF METERS AND EQUIPMENT FOR GAS FACTORIES, residing in MONTROUGE (France).
RECEIVER DEVICE FOR CENTRALIZED REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEMS.
The present invention relates to a receiving device for centralized remote control installations, in which a control order is defined by the time interval which elapses between the reception, in a selector with a tuned circuit, of two electrical pulses with musical frequency superimposed on the distribution network.
In receiving devices for Installations of this kind, the first Impulse (start impulse) causes, by operation. of the tuned circuit selector, the closing of the circuit, to supply a synchronous motor which turns a shaft on which is fixed a cam thanks to which the said synchronous motor remains energized after the end of the pulse. switch and switches off automatically when this cam has made a full revolution. While the shaft is rotating, a second pulse (run pulse) is emitted. The Time Interval between Start Pulse and Run Pulse characterizes the control according to the angle of rotation of the shaft driven by the synchronous motor.
In certain devices, this shaft also drives control cams which operate contacts each forming part of the excitation circuit of an intermediate relay, If the Execution pulse is emitted while one of these cams has closed one of these contacts, one of the Intermediate relays is energized by the simultaneous closing of a contact controlled by the tuned circuit selector, and executes the command by switching on or off. These devices therefore have the disadvantage that the excitation current of each of the Intermediate relays always passes through two contacts. In addition, in these devices, an intermediate relay is required for each dual control (switching on and off), which is bulky and expensive.
In other devices, the contacts of the control circuits are actuated directly by members fixed to the shaft driven by the motor.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
synchronous, but the known arrangements for obtaining the force necessary to actuate these contacts are quite complex.
The object of the invention is to remedy these various drawbacks.
The object of the invention is a receiving device in which a control command is defined by the time interval which elapses between the reception, in a tuned circuit selector, of two electrical pulses at musical frequency superimposed in the network of distribution, this receiving device comprising a synchronous motor which, when it is energized during the starting pulse, causes a shaft to rotate for a full revolution, driving a member for actuating the control switches.
The receiving device according to the invention is characterized in that this actuating member is constituted by a bell-shaped magnetic frame, arranged symmetrically on the shaft, which frame has at its periphery a finger which , on the one hand, in the absence of any control impulse is, thanks to the action of a spring, in a plane different from that in which the contact levers of the on / off control switches are placed sudden, which are arranged radially on a fixed plate around this armature, and which, on the other hand, during an impulse, is brought into the plane of the contact levers of the switches, by an electromagnetic attraction due to the excitation of a solenoid placed inside the armature.
On the other hand, it is known that, in order to avoid in remote control installations of this type, untimely maneuvers by control pulses transmitted over another network interconnected with the network in question, the following transmission method is used: The time interval between the start pulse and an execution pulse is an odd multiple of an elementary time Te, and, moreover, the time interval between two execution pulses is an even multiple of this elementary time, this being defined by half of the minimum time separating two execution pulses.
The receiver device according to the invention makes it possible to use this transmission method in a simple way. The elementary time Te is half of the time T necessary for the finger placed on the periphery of the mobile armature to describe an angle 0 representing the angular distance between the first contact lever of a control switch (closing of the switch ) and its second contact lever (opening of the Switch).
Consequently, the first contact lever of the first control switch is placed at an angular distance from the starting position of the moving armature finger defined by: (2n + 1) Ú, n being any integer, and say it
2 angular tance between the second contact lever of a switch and the first contact lever of the next switch is Ú, or an integer multiple of Ú.
The invention will be clearly understood with the aid of the following description as well as of the appended drawings, which description and drawings are, of course, given by way of indication and without a limiting nature,
Fig. 1 schematically represents an embodiment of the receiving device according to the invention.
Fig. 2 shows, on an enlarged scale, a section of the actuator of the control switches.
Fig. 3 shows how the finger of the movable armature causes the operation of a snap-on and snap-on control switch.
In fig. 1, A and B denote two conductors of a distribution network on which musical frequency control voltages can be superimposed; S is a selector of a known type, comprising a vibrating blade 3 mechanically tuned to the musical control frequency. This selector essentially comprises an excitation winding 1 of the vibrating blade and a capacitor 2 connected in series with winding 1. The assembly 1-2 constitutes
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
a resonance circuit also tuned to the control musical frequency.
This resonant circuit is connected between conductors A and B. The vibrating blade
3 of the selector S drives, in a rotational movement, when it vibrates with sufficient amplitude during a transmission at musical frequency, a centrifugal force device 4 which pushes an elastic blade 5 towards the bottom of the figure , which causes the closing of contacts 5a-5b.
Closing these contacts enables a synchronous motor 7 to be energized through the contacts of blades 6-20. The synchronous motor
7, drives, by a set of suitable cogs 8, a shaft 9 in the direction of arrow F1 This shaft, which is made of non-magnetic metal, drives a cam 10 and a magnetic armature 11 in the form of a bell.
The cam 10, from the start of its rotational movement, causes the closing of the contacts 6-21 and the opening of the contacts 6-20. Under these conditions, the synchronous motor 7 will remain energized, when the contacts 5a-5b open when the vibration of the vibrating blade 3 is stopped, following the cessation of the frequency transmission. musical, The supply circuit of the synchronous motor 7 will only be cut when the cam 10, having performed a complete rotation, brings the blade Ú into contact with the blade 20, thus causing the opening of the contacts 6-21.
If we refer more specifically to fig. 2, we see that the tree
9, driven by the intermediary of the synchronous motor 7 rotates inside a sleeve 12 made of magnetic material, fixed on a bowl 13 also of magnetic material. This bowl is fixed on a fixed plate 14. The bell-shaped frame 11 is integral with a hollow sleeve 15, provided with two slots 16, 16 'at its lower part, into which penetrates, with a very large clearance. duit, a rod 17 carried by the shaft 9. This small clearance allows the displacement of the hollow sleeve 15 along the shaft 9, while maintaining the frame 11 in a well-defined position relative to the shaft 9.
A spring 18, placed inside the hollow sleeve 15, bears against the rod 17 and pushes the said sleeve and the frame it against a ring 19 carried by the shaft 9. The frame 11 has at its periphery a finger 22. An excitation coil 23 is fixed to the cup 13, inside said cup and the frame 11 ', following the axis of symmetry of these two parts. The sleeves 12 and 15 are placed inside this coil and the diameter of the central hole of this coil is greater than the outside diameter of the sleeve 15, so that the latter can slide freely along the shaft 9. The excitation coil 23 is connected to the conductors A and B of the distribution network via the contacts 5a-5b.
24 designates switches of known type, with sudden engagement and release, fixed on the plate 14 and disposed radially around the movable armature 11. The number of these switches depends on the number of commands that the receiving device must perform. Each of these switches (the operation of which in cooperation with the finger 22 will be described in detail below with reference to FIG. 3) has two contact levers 25 and 25 ', one for opening, the other for closing. The contact levers of each of the switches 24 are directed towards the axis of rotation of the movable armature 11 and are located near the periphery of said armature.
All the contact levers are located in the same plane perpendicular to the shaft 9. The closing and opening of each of these switches cause, directly or via an auxiliary relay, an engagement command. and a trigger command.
When the execution coil 23 is not energized, the movable armature is in the position shown in fig 2, and the finger 22 is above the plane of the contact levers 25-25 'of the switches 24 When the excitation coil 23 is energized, a magnetic flux 11 occurs which passes through the sleeves 12 and 15 and is closed by the armature 11 and the cup 13.
The electromagnetic force of attraction developed between the two sleeves 12 and 15 is greater than the antagonistic thrust of the spring 18, so that the sleeve 15 moves in the direction of arrow F2 and the finger 22 comes in.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
the plane of the contact levers 25-25 '.
The angular position of the contact levers 25 and 25 'of each of the switches 24, relative to the stop position of the finger 22, characterizes each of the commands to be performed by the receiving device. In fact, the finger 22, when the movable armature 11 is driven by the shaft 9, describes a circumference at constant speed, and will have rotated by a well-determined angle during the time interval which exists between the Pulse start and an Execution Pulse.
As indicated previously, if it is desired to use the transmission method in which, on the one hand, the time interval between the start pulse and the run pulse is a multiple odd elementary time Te, and, on the other hand, the time interval between two execution pulses is an even multiple of this elementary time, the first contact lever of switch 24 which must perform the engagement maneuver of command N 1, will be placed, for example, at an angular distance from the starting position of finger 22 of armature II equal to 3 Q (Ú, represented
2 as the angular distance between the first contact lever and the second contact lever of this switch, this distance being traveled in a time double the elementary time Te),
so that this switching on maneuver will take place at the end of a time interval equal to 3 Te. The triggering maneuver of command N 1 will take place when finger 22 has described an angle 3 3 + Ú, that is to say at the end of a time interval equal to 5 Te.
2 The switch 24 which is to execute command n 2 will be fixed on the plate 14 so that the angular distance between its first contact lever and the second contact lever of Switch 24 which is to execute command n 1 has a value equal to Ú or to an integer multiple of 9.
When a start pulse corresponding to the control frequency is applied to the A-B network, the synchronous motor 7 starts to rotate and will make the cam 10 describe a full revolution, as has been previously explained. This starting pulse also causes the movement, in the direction of the arrow F2 in FIG. 2, of the movable armature 11 and of its finger 22. This movement does not present any disadvantage because no contact lever of the switches 24 is placed opposite the stop position of the finger 22.
As soon as the starting pulse ceases, the armature II and its finger 22 return to their respective position, as indicated in FIG. 2.
If a second pulse (execution pulse) is applied to the AB network, at the end of a time interval 3 Te, for example, that is to say at the moment when the finger 22, after having described an angle 3 Ú is above
2 of the first contact lever 25 of the first switch 24, this finger 22 moves instantly towards the lever 25, thus determining the engagement of this switch 24.
The triggering command of this same switch will take place by a second execution pulse, which will occur after a time 3 Te + 2 Te, 2 Te being the time that finger 22 will take to describe the angle Ú representing the angular distance between the first contact lever 25 and the second contact lever 25 'of the same switch,
Fig. 3 schematically represents the operation of a switch 24 in cooperation with the finger 22 of the movable armature 11. The switch 24 is a switch whose movable contact is placed at the common end of two blades. deformable elastic bands. This kind of switch is well known, and the one shown in FIG. 3 is simply indicated by way of example.
In this figure, where the same numbers have the same meaning as in fig. 2, 30 and 31 are the two deformable elastic blades of the switch 24. 32 is the movable contact; 33 is the fixed contact. 37 is the stop

of the movable contact 32 in its open position, one of the ends of the blade 31 is integral with a rod 34 occupying a fixed position. One of the ends of the blade 30 is integral with a pivot 35. The contact levers 25-25 'are fixed on a plate 36 which is integral with the pivot 35.
IF: It is assumed that '1 the contact levers 25-25'. The plate 36 as well as the pivot 35 and the blades 30 and 31 are in the position -Indicated in dotted lines in the figure, ( so that the contacts, 32-33 are open) and an Execution Impulse occurs when the finger 22 is above the contact lever 25, the latter will receive a shock, which will come into the position indicated in solid lines, Contacts 32-33. will suddenly close.
