MACHINE AUTOMATIQUE POUR PRESSER DE FACON CONTINUE LES ORANGES ET AUTRES
FRUITS.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Pour permettre la manoeuvre du guide mobile 13, celui-ci porte une tige 14, montée de fagon à pouvoir tourner mais ne pouvant se déplacer longi- tudinalement, filetée sur une partie de sa longueur en 15 et munie d'un volant de commande 16tandis que le pas de vis de la tige coopère avec un écrou 17 solidaire de la machine, de telle manière que,si l'on actionne le volant 16 dans le sens approprié,le guide 10 et le guide mobile 13 peuvent se rappro- cher ou s'écarter l'un de l'autre dans la mesure voulue;
,
La seule partie mobile essentielle pour la machine est la pièce 21, dont la face intérieure possède deux plans 23 formant un dièdre semblable à. celui décrit précédemment, ce qui fait qu'il peut coïncider sensiblement avec les plans 19. L'arête formée entre les plans 23 est munie d'une nervure en saillie 24, disposée spécialement pour commencer à couper l'écorce des fruits en question;

AUTOMATIC MACHINE FOR CONTINUOUSLY PRESSING ORANGES AND OTHERS
FRUITS.
The present invention relates to an automatic machine for continuously pressing oranges and other fruits.
The machine forming the subject of the present invention is characterized in that it comprises a pressure chamber provided with two walls facing each other, each of which comprises at least two surfaces facing each other and forming an angle between them, while the junction vertex of these walls, on the convex wall, is provided with a cutting edge projecting towards the interior of the chamber, and that at least one of these walls is mechanically linked to motor devices intended to move them alternately one against the other, in combination with devices intended to bring at least one fruit into the chamber, and to release therefrom the pressed fruit and the juice thereof -cio
To facilitate the explanation,
attached to the present descriptive memory a sheet of drawings in which there is shown an embodiment of the invention, which is cited by way of example not restricting the scope of the invention, with reference to the description below .
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a longitudinal sectional elevation, showing schematically the organization of the operating principle of the machine described, and Figure 2 is a plan view, in cross section taken on line 2- 2 in figure 1.
In the figures, 10 is a fixed inclined guide which has a fluted transverse section so as to allow to place therein, in a stable position, several substantially round fruits 11, which, as a result of the inclination of the guide, tend to roll along it, to reach its end which opens vertically into the pressure chamber 12 which is described more
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The guide 10 is combined with a similar guide 13, opposite the first, and mounted in the longitudinal position with respect to the machine, so that the distance between the guides can be adjusted at will, depending on the size of the fruit that it is a question of manipulating.
To allow maneuvering of the mobile guide 13, the latter carries a rod 14, mounted so as to be able to turn but not being able to move longitudinally, threaded over part of its length at 15 and provided with a control wheel 16. that the thread of the rod cooperates with a nut 17 integral with the machine, so that, if the handwheel 16 is actuated in the appropriate direction, the guide 10 and the movable guide 13 can come closer or deviate from each other to the extent desired;
,
The pressure chamber 12 is formed of an outer part 18, fixed as to the operation of the machine but mounted in an easily removable arrangement, to allow the opening of the chamber and its complete cleaning, for example through cooperation. manually operable studs, or other similar device, sufficiently known to any technician in the field of machine building
Part 18 has in plan a transverse section substantially conforming to what can be seen in FIG. 2, so that it comprises two planes 19, forming a dihedron, the concavity of which is directed inwardly. interior of the chamber 12, while the junction edge between the two planes is arranged vertically and centered.
From the planes 19 extend side walls 20, one on each side, which serve to close the chamber 12 and to hold the part 18 in position.
Opposite the planes 19 is a piece 21 mounted so as to slide longitudinally along a number of rods 22 which extend from fixed points of the machine towards the interior of the chamber 12, near its lower part. . The arrangement of the ends of these rods is such that, when the part 21 is open, that is to say placed in the position indicated by FIG. 1, one or more fruits can fall inside the chamber 12 and be maintained in the pressure position by these rods.
Nevertheless, the distance between the ends of the stems 22 and the planes 19 of the part 18 is taken significantly greater than the longitudinal dimension of the fruit when pressed, so that, when the part 21 begins its return movement by the means described later, this fruit can fall freely and exit the chamber.
The only essential mobile part for the machine is the part 21, the inner face of which has two planes 23 forming a dihedral similar to. that described above, which means that it can substantially coincide with the planes 19. The ridge formed between the planes 23 is provided with a projecting rib 24, arranged specially to start cutting the rind of the fruit in question;
then, the gradual approach of the walls of the chamber compresses the fruits following the shape of the dihedrons formed by the planes 19 and 25, until the complete separation of the juice is obtained, while nevertheless leaving the residue obtained in a state such as can later be used for other purposes, for example in confectionery, etc.
So that the part 21 can be actuated in its back and forth movement, it has a control rod 25, guided longitudinally by a pad 26 fixed to the machine, and terminated by a threaded portion 27 on which a part 28 is mounted, arranged so as to be able to move longitudinally,
and the position of which can be adjusted by means of the nut 29 and the corresponding counter-nut 30 The part 28 has a bearing 31 on which is mounted a pin 32 on which is articulated a connecting rod 33, articulated on the other hand to its opposite end to the free end of a lever 35 mounted so as to be able to oscillate on an axis fixed with respect to the machine, shown at 360
The lever 35 has a sliding groove 35a in which can move a pin 37 mounted eccentrically on a plate 38, itself arranged to rotate around a fixed axis not visible in the figures.

res.
The plate 38 is provided with a peripheral toothing 39 arranged so as to mesh with a fine screw 40 mechanically connected to a drive motor 41, by means of a transmission generally indicated by the reference 42.
Below the chamber 12 is a box 43 which communicates by its upper part with said chamber, and which is provided with an intermediate screen 44 inclined towards one of the walls, and a bottom in the form of a funnel. 45 located below this screen, so that the fruit juice can pass freely through the screen and is collected by the funnel, from where it flows into a suitable container 46. On the other hand. , the pressing residues are retained by the mesh and deflected laterally towards one of the walls of the box 43.
The wall in question has an orifice 47 where there is a flap 48 articulated by its upper part on a hinge 49, so that any possible splashing of juice remains confined to the interior of the box and that, on the other hand, this The valve can pass the baling residues which roll over the screen 44, and allow them to exit freely to the outside, where they can be collected in the manner best suited to their subsequent use.
To control the passage of the fruit towards the interior of the chamber 12, an extension 50 is provided on the movable part 21 which continues the upper edge of this part and which is directed longitudinally towards the outside. This extension closes the passage to the fruit when the part 21 advances towards the interior of the chamber 12 during a pressing operation. On the other hand, at the mouth of the guide 10 is a device formed by a rocker 51 forming a point 52 projecting inside the guide, and a rod 53 actuated by a rocker 54, these two elements cooperating. with the extension 50, so as to retain the fruit from the guide, leaving only those which are to be pressed each time to fall inside the chamber 12.
It is evident that, when the motor is running, the operation of the machine is continuous and does not require any care other than that consisting in keeping the guide 10 full of fruit, and in removing the containers full of the juice. got.
