DISPOSITIF DE REGLAGE DE LA VITESSE DE MOTEURS ASYNCHRONES PAR ACTION SUR
LA TENSION D'ALIMENTATION.
1. Introduction à la description.
2. Description proprement dite.

DEVICE FOR ADJUSTING THE SPEED OF ASYNCHRONOUS MOTORS BY ACTION ON
THE SUPPLY VOLTAGE.
1. Introduction to the description.
In asynchronous motors with short-circuited rotor and constant voltage supply, the motor operating point for which the motor torque is equivalent to the resistive torque (Cm - Cr) is only obtained, for a determined resistive torque, for a fixed speed.
The present invention makes it possible to obtain the adjustment of the speed of asynchronous motors by modifying the characteristic curve of the motor torque as a function of the speed n, Cm = f (n) by acting on the supply voltage of the stator as a function of engine speed.
2. Description proper.
The asynchronous motor whose speed we want to adjust drives a tachometer. This member actuates a device acting on the voltage applied to the terminals of the asynchronous motor.
The adjustment of this action is fixed in such a way that, at a certain determined speed, the curve of the motor torque as a function of the speed, Cm = f (n), no longer corresponds to the curve obtained by supply at full voltage and gives a curve where the motor torque decreases as a function of the increasing speed and this, for speeds lower than those where the curve Cm = f (n) takes on this stable operating appearance, when powering at constant voltage.
In this way the motor operating point for which Cm = Cr can be obtained for different speeds. These can in fact be obtained by varying either the action of the tachometric member or the value of the elements entering into the operation of the device modifying the value of the voltage applied to the asynchronous motor, or both simultaneously.

The invention in question can in particular be carried out in the manner described below.
The main alternating current circuit of a saturable reactance is inserted into the supply circuit of the asynchronous motor. The asynchronous motor drives, directly or indirectly a tachometric dynamo whose electro-motive force is thus a function of the speed of the motor.
The fixed magnetic field of the reactance is obtained by the antagonistic action of a fixed DC voltage (which may possibly be adjustable) and that resulting from the operation of the tacho-generator described above. This action can be obtained by means of a single direct current winding or of two separate windings.
In this way, when the asynchronous motor is started according to the above-mentioned process, the saturable reactance will be saturated under the action of the amperestours obtained by the action of the fixed direct voltage. The motor torque will substantially follow the normal starting curve of the asynchronous motor (the voltage drop caused by the saturable saturable reactance can be considered negligible).
For a certain speed determined by the precise values of the elements involved, the electro-motive force produced by the tacho generator will cause a "desaturation" of the reactance increasing with the speed of the motor.
The voltage applied to the terminals thereof and the motor torque will therefore decrease until one of the equilibrium points is reached.
Other speeds can be obtained by varying the resulting amperes-turns of direct current, for example by action on the fixed direct voltage, or on the electro-motive force of the tachometric generator, or on both simultaneously, or by any other way.
In summary, the combination of the elements constituting the invention makes it possible to obtain a series of characteristic curves Cm = f (n) asynchronous motors so that the operating point of these motors can be obtained for different speeds and this, by acting on the stator supply voltage.
