<EMI ID=2.1>
<EMI ID=3.1>
( fig.2).

The present invention relates to a washing machine in which the washing liquid, instead of being subjected to the action of a usual mechanical agitator, is driven by
a pump following a closed circuit starting from the central part
<EMI ID = 2.1>
through discharge openings to the pump. When it is desired to obtain sufficient washing of the laundry, by means of such a circuit
washing liquid, there is a critical problem which consists in giving all the washing liquid, located in the tank, a displacement, with broth-ment of said liquid, as vigorous as possible.
The present invention has solved this problem, and this
by ensuring the discharge of the washing liquid in the tank
washing, by passing this liquid through vertical inlet slits crossing the thickness of a wall, following planes of equal obliquity, so as to thus produce, in the horizontal plane, a component of circular motion. Grace
with this arrangement and this execution of the introduction slits, the washing powder is subjected, inside the tank, to a much more forceful action than was possible until now; in fact, the introduction slits crossing, along planes of equal obliquity, the thickness of the wall, produce in the horizontal plane; a displacement component, such that the vertical liquid streams no longer move radially with respect to the wall of the tank, but are deflected along a circular path. If we combine, with these inlet slots, a rounded shape for the bottom of the tank, said liquid streams will also be deflected upwards. In any case, these characteristics ensure a bubbling and swirling of the lye in the tank, and this to a degree that could not be achieved previously.
The cleaning effect is further increased substantially by the fact that the discharge openings provided in the side wall of the washing tank extend above the level of the liquid, which ensures the introduction. continuous a noticeable amount of air in the liquid stream. If these openings are provided at the right angles of the polygonal outer casing, the flowing liquid has sufficient space to mix intimately with the entrained air, this phenomenon being further greatly increased by the action of the pump, so that a mixture of detergent and air is forced into the washing tank; this mixture produces a foam in a quantity never reached to date. However, the cleaning effect due to the foam and in particular to oxygen is well known.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, one embodiment of the invention:
Figure 1 is a sectional elevation view of this washing machine; Figure 2 is a top view; FIG. 3 represents the casing of the pump with its cover; FIG. 4 is a view in section passing through the slots for introducing the fluid into the tank.
This washing machine has, in the usual way,
<EMI ID = 3.1>
2, which, in the case shown in the drawing, has a square section
(fig. 2). The laundry, driven by the pump 3 in a closed circuit passing through the washing tank, flows through the openings or holes 4 made in the side wall of the tank to enter the enclosure separating the outer casing 2 from the tank 1 and return to pump 3. The detergent outlet is controlled by a tap 5.
The pump 3 is formed of a propeller, of the boat propeller type, mounted on a vertical shaft 6. This vertical shaft is coupled to the also vertical shaft 7 of the motor 8. This gives a machine of simple construction and operation. sQr.
The propeller pump 3 is covered by a cover 9 penetrating into the bottom of the tank. In the vertical wall 10 of this cover 9, there are slots 11 through which
the detergent is discharged into the tank. These slots 11 are arranged vertically, according to the invention, so that the liquid is discharged through these slots in the form of vertical threads, which produce a substantially greater swirling effect . to that obtained by means of horizontal threads flowing along the bottom of the tank.
The vertical arrangement of the slots is, in neutral, associated with the round shape of the bottom 12 of the tank; the latter is, in fact, advantageously rounded into a spherical cap. This forces the laundry streams to point upwards, describing in vertical planes arcuate movements. In addition, the slots 11 pass through the wall of the cover 9, along vertical planes all having the same obliquity with respect to

at the same time, in horizontal projection, following arcs of a circle. It follows an overall displacement of the laundry
in the tank, ensuring maximum swirling and boiling. To prevent the laundry carried by this movement
<EMI ID = 6.1>
vercle 9, there is provided at this place a very strong vertical tube 13 separating the laundry from this area, this tube being mounted on the cover 9. The driven laundry constantly strikes this vertical tube and is always carried away by the bubbling
of laundry, so that it is perfectly brewed and cleaned.
The slots 4, formed in the side wall of the tank) extend, according to the invention, over a height greater than the level of the liquid in the tank '; which ensures an always sufficient air suction, by the bubbling liquid as it leaves the tank. To obtain an intimate mixture of this air with the washing powder, it is provided, in accordance with the invention, that the openings 4 are located opposite the angles of the outer casing (fig. 2), so that there has enough space available to collect the liquid during its
