la figo 2 est une vue de face, à plus grande échelle, de l'inté- rieur d'une portion du vêtement, dans laquelle la poche est montée et sur laquelle une partie de la bande de ceinture intérieure est arrachée; la fig. 3 est une coupe suivant la ligne 3-3 de la fig. 2 ; la figo 4 représente une poche confectionnée suivant l'invention et dont certaines portions sont rabattues en dehors de façon à faire apparaî- tre les détails de confection de la poche; la fig, 5 indique de quelle manière on commence à fixer la poche dans sa position; la fig;

TROUSERS POCKET,
The present invention relates to a novel and advantageous arrangement of a trouser pocket, generally known as a front and side pocket.
The main objects of the invention are as follows a pocket of a novel arrangement and a special method of securing the pocket to the garment ;, a garment pocket, the seam of which is fixed in the fold of a piece of tape in covering the raw edges so as to give it a neat and finished appearance on the outside and a clean and non-fraying appearance on the inside use a portion of the tape to enclose a free edge of the pocket and thus help to increase the resistance of the pocket finally fitted, assemble the pocket in trousers by sewing the top part of one of the sides of the pocket to the garment in a position contiguous to one side of the pocket opening, sewing on the garment, one edge of a strip of trim, previously sewn into the pocket,
in a position contiguous with the other side of the opening of the pocket, and by joining by a buttonhole or stop stitch the trim strip, the edge of the ribbon and the fabric of the garment at the ends or at the top and at the bottom of the pocket opening. assemble, form part and fix a side pocket on a pantilin in a novel way by means of a hanger which in some cases acts as a trim strip.
In the accompanying drawings and by way of example only, Fig. 1 is a side elevation of trousers, indicating the relative position of the pockets with respect to the other elements of the garment:
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Fig. 2 is a front view, on a larger scale, of the interior of a portion of the garment, in which the pocket is mounted and on which a part of the inner waistband is torn off; fig. 3 is a section taken along line 3-3 of FIG. 2; FIG. 4 shows a pocket made according to the invention and certain portions of which are folded out so as to reveal the details of making the pocket; FIG, 5 shows how to start fixing the pocket in its position; fig;
6 is a cross section, on a somewhat larger scale, of one of the pockets in the region of its opening and shows a variant of the method of attaching the side edge of the pocket to the two thicknesses of the seam; rod 7 is a cross section of another variant and represents the shape of the side of the pocket opposite to that of FIG. 6.
In the embodiment of the invention of figs. 1 to 5, a pair of trousers 10 comprises, for example, a front part 11 and a rear part 12, joined by a seam a provided with an inner waistband 14. A pocket opening 15 is formed by swimming an interruption. in part of the seam 13.
The pocket 16 is preferably formed by folding back on itself a piece of fabric to form two walls 17 and 18, the edges of the walls which face each other along the lower part and d 'one side are closed up to a point between the upper part and the lower part, between a strip 19 folded longitudinally on itself, and which, above the point between the upper and lower parts, does not include only closes the edge of a single wall, such as wall 18, or that which is on the side opposite to the fabric of the pants (figs-3, 4 and 5).
As a result, one side of the upper portion of the pocket remains open to a sufficient width to form an entry opening. The tape closes the lower portion of the pocket and, at the point where the walls thereof are joined together along their edges, these walls and the tape are sewn by a single operation so as to form one or more rows of stitches 20.
A strip of trim 21 is sewn by stitches 22 on the inside face of wall 17 in the region of the pocket opening or its open side portion, and a similar strip of trim 23 is sewn by. points 24 along its inner edge only on the wall 18.
To fit this pocket, the edge of the open side of the wall 17 of the pocket and its trim strip 21 is placed in front of the opening 15 of the pocket on its edge formed by part 11 of the pants and it is then fitted. sews in place with 25 stitches (fig. 3).
Then, the free or outer edge of the strip of trim 23 is brought in front of the opening 15 of the pocket which coincides with the edge formed by the part 12 of the trousers and it is sewn through the points 26. L ' upper end of the pocket covers the inner belt strip 14 and this upper end is closed by the points 27 which fix the lower edge of this strip to the fabric of the pants while helping to support the pocket and its contents.
Stop straps are formed at the top and bottom ends of the pocket opening to minimize the risk of corner snagging and to strengthen pocket support.

In the case of pin 6 the edge 29 of the wall 18 of the pocket, in the region of its opening 15, and the contiguous edge of the trim strip are folded out on a fold within the edge of the pocket. part 12 of the pants and all these elements are sewn together by points 30.
The other wall 17 of the pocket is placed directly on the inside face of part 11 of the garment and ends at a short distance from the edge of this part in the region of the opening of the pocket where this edge is folded. The adjacent edges of this wall 17 of the pocket and of the part 11 of the garment are covered by the trim strip 21 and all the elements are sewn together by the points 22, in the same way as the other variant of the construction. .
As shown in fig. 7, the trim strip 21 is placed on the wall 17 of the pocket, making their edges folded out at 31 and sewn by stitches 32 flush with the edge of the part 11 of the garment in the region of the garment. opening of the pocket 15. The other side of the pocket, or edge of the wall 18 of the pocket, is sewn on a vertical longitudinal edge of a suspension strip 33 by points 34 which also fix the tape in its position . The other vertical longitudinal edge of the hanger strip is attached to the edge of part 12 of the garment in the region of opening 15 of the pocket.
A very wide trim strip 35 is secured along its inner vertical longitudinal edge of the pocket wall at a considerable distance from the pocket opening, by points 36, and the outer vertical longitudinal edge of this strip. trim 35 is attached to the junction of hanger strip 33 and part 12 of the garment. In effect, this part of the garment and the respective adjoining edges of the hanger and trim bands 33 and 35 are sewn together in one operation by the stitches 37 and the resulting seam is completed before sewing the tie tape 19. on the wall of the pocket and the suspension strip 33.
