<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

DEVICE: OF: CLOSURE, FOR RECRIENT, ITS. MANUFACTURING. PROCESS ... AND
RECIPIENTS-TOUR. THE IMPLEMENTATION \ OF.CE .DISPOSITIVE.
Flexible tubes containing pasty or liquid products are generally closed by means of a threaded stopper, screwed onto the nozzle provided at the top of these tubes.
Containers of this type are sometimes sized to contain a dose of product which is used at one time.
In this case, the device for closing by means of a threaded stopper unnecessarily complicates the manufacture, because this stopper no longer finds any use after the use of the dose of product contained in the flexible tube.
The object of the present invention is in particular to avoid this drawback.
To this end, it relates to a closure device for containers such as a flexible tube, flask or other receptacle, characterized by a recessed appendage whose recess closed on one side communicates on the other hand with the. interior of the receptacle, the opening being obtained by breaking this appendage, so as to cause the recess communicating with the interior of the receptacle to open on the outside, this device being easy to manufacture and to operate very quickly without the aid of 'no tools or accessories.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the appendage comprises on the outside a rupture initiator intended to facilitate its removal to determine the location of the rupture and to have an orifice of net section.
The invention also relates to the receptacles for the implementation of the device according to the preceding paragraphs and in particular: a) - a flexible tube characterized because the body of the tube has come in one piece with the device during the operation spinning.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
b) - a glass bottle or other material characterized because the device is fixed by its collar on the neck of the bottle, the device normally ensuring the closure of this bottle.
The invention also extends to the characteristics described below and to their various possible combinations.
Devices and containers in accordance with the invention are shown by way of nonlimiting example in the accompanying drawings in which: - Figure 1 is an elevational view of a closure device, - Figure 2 is an elevational view in section of a flexible tube for the implementation of this device - Figure 3 is an elevational view of the flexible tube illustrating the opening of the device, - Figure 4 is a view in sectional elevation showing a tool for manufacturing the device or flexible tube shown in Figures 1 and 3 y - Figure 5 shows in sectional elevation a pellet intended to be deformed in the tool of Figure 4, - figures 6 and 7 show in sectional elevation the products obtained with this tool,
- Figure 8 is a sectional elevation view of a bottle according to the invention - Figures 9 and 10 are sectional elevation views illustrating other methods of mounting the device on a bottle.
The closure device shown in FIG. 1 essentially comprises an appendix 1, surmounting a flange 2 intended to come to be connected with the body of the container on the opening of which the device is fitted.
The appendix I is hollowed out on the inside and its recess 11, closed at the end of the appendix, on the other hand, on the side of the collar 2 and communicates, therefore, with the interior of the container.
The appendix I comprises at its base a rupture initiator 4 constituted in the example represented by a circular groove.
The device is made, for example, of flexible metal or of a plastic material having the required properties.
The appendix 1, which normally closes the receptacle on which the opening of the device is fitted, is broken when the user wishes to use the product contained thanks to the rupture initiator 4 which determines the location. of rupture.
The closure device described above can in particular be 'applied to a flexible tube. In this case, it can be attached to the body 3 of the tube (by welding, for example)., Or can advantageously be one with this tube (Figures 2 and 3).
The device is obtained for example by deforming a pellet 5 of material such as soft metal in a die 6 and by means of a punch 7 of suitable shapes (FIG. 4).
We then practice bleeding 4 constituting the initiation of rupture.
The device can also be made of any other material, and in particular of plastic. It can also be obtained by stamping, molding, injection, or any other method of manufacture.
In the case where the device is intended to be attached to the body 3 of the flexible tube, it may be limited to the collar 2 with
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
desired, a slight edge (figure 6),
In the case where the flexible tube is integral with the closure device, the assembly can be obtained, for example, by deformation of a pellet 5, of suitable thickness and diameter to form the appendix 1 and the body 3 which is obtained by spinning in the matrix (Figure 7).
The invention relates to the device taken by itself and the flexible tube comprising this device attached or forming part of it.
The invention also extends to a container such as a glass bottle or other material $, on which is attached the device which is fixed by its collar 2 on the neck 9 of this bottle, which it normally ensures the closure ( figure 8).
In particular if the bottle 8 comprises at the end of its neck 9 a collar 10, the edges of the collar 2 of the device can be folded under this. flange 10 of the bottle.
The device can also be fixed by means of a cap 11;, crossed by the appendix 1, crimped on the neck of the bottle and tightening the collar 2 on the edges of the neck (figure 9) or be mounted in a stopper 12 embedded in the neck (FIG. 10). In the latter case, the appendix 1 is extended under the collar by a tubular part 13.
The opening of the receptacle is obtained as before, by breaking the appendix 1 so as to make 1 eagerly communicate with the outside.
The containers such as flexible tubes and flasks for using the closure device according to the invention are intended, in particular, to contain a dose of product to be used at one time, these containers having an appropriate capacity to contain only this dose.
The product contained can be a beauty product, such as shampoo, cream, etc., or any other pasty or liquid product such as individual lotions.
The container can also constitute a sampling unit for the presentation of the most diverse products.
The closure devices and containers described above have many advantages and in particular the following
1) The opening operation is very easy, very fast and does not require the help of any tool or accessory such as a pocket knife,
2) the device or the flexible tube is particularly easy, quick and inexpensive to manufacture
3) it ensures a perfect seal and thus ensures indefinite conservation of the product contained,
4) in the event that the container contains a dose of product to be used at once, the impossibility of reclosing obliges the user to use this entire dose in this way in order to obtain maximum efficiency. .
Of course, modifications of detail can be made to the devices and containers described above, without departing from the scope of the invention.
For example, the flow orifice obtained by the rupture of appendix I may be of suitable diameter to form a dropper.
