PERFECTIONNEMENTS AUX DISPOSITIFS DE SUSPENSION DE RIDEAUX, TENTURES ET
ANALOGUES
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

IMPROVEMENTS TO SUSPENSION DEVICES FOR CURTAINS, HINGES AND
ANALOGUES
The present invention relates to improvements to devices for suspending curtains, drapes and the like and, in particular, to hooks and flexible ribbons with sheaths used for the suspension of curtains, drapes, etc. at more gathers.
In particular, simple hooks are known for hanging curtains, drapes, etc. to brackets fitted with rollers rolling between the wings of a fixed rail, mounted above a bay or window. These known hooks offer several drawbacks. Thus, they are easily released from the brackets in question and do not allow folds or gathers to be made in curtains, hangings, etc.
However, it is known to deploy the hooks in question together with flexible ribbons, in which are provided, from place to place, sleeves intended to receive a branch of the aforementioned hooks.
The flexible ribbons, to which the curtains, hangings, etc., must be sewn or otherwise attached, also carry cords or laces threaded in the direction of the length of the ribbons, so as to have strands appearing alternately. one side and the other side of the ribbon. Thanks to these laces or cords, it becomes possible to arrange gathers and folds in a curtain or a hanging, by sliding two parts of the ribbon towards each other, on the cords or laces.
Once the gathers or folds are formed, it is, however, necessary, ¯ to avoid their deformation or even their disappearance, to prevent, for example ;, by sewing that the parts brought together, the along the cords, cannot move away from each other.
The object of the present invention is to remedy the drawbacks of the known devices (hooks and ribbons) indicated above.
According to the invention, the device, intended to replace the simple hooks described above and used for hanging curtains, hangings and the like, consists of a rigid wire bent so as to form two hooks, one of which is branches of one hook is joined to the corresponding branch of the other hook, in a plane different from the plane of each
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
of these hooks, these being arranged on the same side of the plane mentioned first. Instead of a single hook, according to the invention, a double hook is provided, which has several advantages, which will be discussed later in this specification.
According to a feature of the invention, a branch of one of the hooks is joined to the corresponding branch of 1-other hook, in a plane substantially perpendicular to that of each of said hooks, the branches joined together by the two hooks located , preferably, in the same plane, which advantageously corresponds to the plane in which the joining of said branches takes place.
According to another feature of the invention, the joined branches of the two hooks are folded 1-moon towards the other, so as to each comprise two sections forming between them an obtuo angle
As for the corresponding branches, not joined together, of the two aforementioned hooks, they are, according to yet another particularity of the invention, of different lengths and of different inclinations in the plane of said hooks.
The flexible tape according to the invention, which can, advantageously, comprise laces or longitudinal cords, as in the known ribbons of this type, is essentially characterized by the fact that it comprises, in addition, in place, pairs of sleeves extending perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the tape. Following a for-. A particular embodiment of the flexible tape according to the invention, the latter comprises, from place to place, alternately a separate sheath and a pair of sheaths.
Other features and details of the invention will become apparent from the description of the drawings appended hereto, which represent schematically and by way of example only, some embodiments of devices for hanging curtains, drapes. and the like.
In these drawings: - Figures 1, 2 and 3 are perspective views of three embodiments of a double hook according to the invention; - Figure 4 is a plan view of a flexible tape according to the invention, and - Figure 5 is a perspective view showing how a curtain or a curtain is hung using double hooks and ribbons according to the invention.
In these different figures, the same reference notations designate identical elements.
In Figure 1, there is shown a simple embodiment of a double hook according to the invention. The device shown in FIG. 1 comprises two hooks, designated as a whole by the reference notations 1 and 2. These hooks, in FIG. 1, have the shape of an inverted U and each comprise two branches, designated by the notations 3 and 4 for the hook 1 and 5 and 6 for the hook 2. The corresponding branches 3 and 5 of the hooks 1 and 2 are joined at 7 by a section of wire lying in a different plane that of brackets 1 and 2.
In the particular case of FIG. 1, the vertical plane containing the connecting section 7 of the branches 3 and 5 of the hooks is perpendicular to the planes of the hooks themselves.
As for the branches 3 and 5, they are located in the vertical plane containing the connecting section 7. As also shown in FIG. 1, the corresponding branches 3,5 and 4,6 of the two hooks are parallel to each other. the other. However, the branch 4 of the hook 1 is shorter than the branch 6 of the hook 2. Thanks to this difference in length of the branches 4 and 6, the insertion of these branches, as will be. explained in the remainder of this memorandum, in the sheaths of flexible tapes according to the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
vention, is greatly facilitated, especially when the branches 4 and 6 are inserted into sleeves relatively distant from each other on the flexible tape.
In Figure 2, there is shown a somewhat modified form of a double hook according to the invention. In this case, the link section 7 no longer affects, as in FIG. 1, a curved shape, but is rectilinear. As for the branches 3 and 5 of the hooks 1 and 2, they are inclined towards each other, but are located in the same vertical plane.
As in Figure 1, the branches 4 and 6 are of different lengths.
In FIG. 3, there is shown a preferred embodiment of the invention, in which the branches 3 and 5 of the hooks 1 and 2 are bent, substantially at mid-height, towards one another, so as to form sections determining between them obtuse angles 8. The branches 4 and 6 of the hooks 1 and 2 are also of different lengths and are advantageously inclined differently with respect to the vertical plane containing the branches 3 and 5 hooks.
Thus, the longer branch 4 can extend parallel to the plane containing the branches 3 and 5, while the shorter branch 6 can be inclined forwards, to the plane mentioned last, The arrangement which comes from The description also helps to facilitate the insertion of the legs 4 and 6 into sleeves relatively far apart. on the other a flexible ribbon.
In Figure 4, there is shown a preferred embodiment of a flexible tape 9 according to the invention. As can be seen in this figure, the ribbon, made of fabric, comprises two longitudinal cords or laces 10, threaded onto the ribbon, so as to have sections appearing alternately on one side and on the other side. of said ribbon. This tape 9 further comprises, according to the invention, pairs of sheaths 11, between which are arranged separate sheaths 12. By the expression "pairs of sheaths" is meant in the present specification, two adjacent sheaths. 11 placed at a mutual distance less than the distance separating one of the sheaths 11 of the pair in question from the separate sheath 12 nearest to it.
The hanging of a curtain or a drape using double hooks, as shown in Figures 1, 2 and 3, and a flexible tape, as shown in Figure 4, is done as follows. After having sewn or otherwise attached a flexible tape 9 to a curtain or a hanging 13 (see figure 5), the branches 4 and 6 of the double hooks are inserted into the sleeves 11, 12 of the tape 9, choosing the distance between the sheaths 11, 12 in which the branches 4 and 6 of the same double hook must be inserted, depending on the width and the conformation of the folds or gathers that are to be obtained.
Once the branches 4 and 6 of a double hook have been completely inserted into two sleeves 11, 12, this hook is turned over, so as to bring its branches 3 and 5 into the sleeves in question, as shown in FIG. 5. When all the double hooks are thus in place along the tape 9, these hooks are hung in rings 14 suspended from brackets 15 provided with rollers 16 rolling between the wings 17 of a rail 18 fixed above a bay in front of which must be hung the curtain or drapery.
The shape of the double hooks according to the invention is such that, when the double hooks are hooked to the rings 14, the upper parts 19 of the branches 3 and 5 joined together by the hooks must be brought closer to one another. and come, once the hooking is complete, apply elastically against the rings 14. Thus, the double hooks are held firmly in engagement with the rings and can not accidentally separate.
It is obvious that the invention is not exclusively limited to the embodiments described above and that various modifications can be made in the form, the arrangement and the constitution of certain of the elements involved in its realization. , provided that these modifications do not contradict the object of the following claims.
