BRULEURS A GAZ.

GAS BURNERS.
The invention relates to gas burners for household appliances such as stoves, gas cookers and the like.
There are many known burners of this type with one or two rings per burner and which are suitable for the use of town gas, butane, etc. The calorific efficiency of these burners is lower than the expected value.
It has been observed that this drawback is due to the fact that the gas supplied by the front of the burner enters directly into the combustion zone where it entrains the air necessary for its combustion., Due to the fact that the path, from-- then the burner inlet up to. combustion zone, is reduced and that the gas-air mixture finds an immediate exit through the usual small holes provided in the upper part or crown of the burner, it follows that said mixture is far from being homogeneous,
hence - incomplete combustion.
According to the present invention, provision is made to remedy this drawback, and for this purpose ;, the burner according to the invention has a gas and air inlet at the front as well, but which is extended by the duct. brought to a compression chamber arranged at the rear of the burner and which opens into the combustion zone or annular chamber provided with small outlet holes for the mixture to be ignited, which considerably increases the stroke traveled by the mixture and promotes the homogeneity of the mixture.
According to a particular feature of the invention, provision is made to provide the compression chamber at the rear with a sharp bend causing a diversion of the gas stream at an acute angle, which allows perfect stirring of the mixture before it enters the chamber. the combustion zone.
Other details and features of the invention will become apparent from the description of the appended drawings in which: FIG. 1 is a perspective view with schematic parts of a burner of a known type, given for explanatory purposes only.

according to the invention.
Figs. 3 and 4 represent the two parts constituting a burner as shown schematically in FIG. 2 and according to the particular embodiment of the invention.
The same elements are designated in the various figures by the same reference numerals.
Fig. 1, a gas burner of a type known for stoves, cookers and the like, consists of a part 2 posed in a removable manner opposite the spouts and taps of a household appliance, in the supports provided. for this purpose. At the front, the burner has two ducts 3 and 4 for supplying gas and driving air to supply, on the one hand, a central mushroom 5 and;, on the other hand, an annular chamber 6, both provided with small holes 7, in a well-known manner. For fitting and removing the appliance, the burner comprises, for example, three arms 8 to 120 one apart from the other, also in a well-known manner.
In Fig. 2, the burner according to the invention comprises a part 9, the front of which comprises the conduits 10 and 11, one 10, intended to supply a central mushroom 12, the other 11, extended to a control chamber. - pressure 13 disposed at the rear of the burner 9, that is to say on the side opposite to the inlet of the conduits 10 and 11. This closed chamber or pocket 13 opens at the rear into an annular chamber (torus) 14 of the same shape as the corresponding annular chamber of known burners.
The central mushroom 12 and the toric chamber 14 have small orifices 15 at their upper part.
As can easily be understood, the extension of duct 11 (Fig.
2) up to the compression chamber 13 at the rear of the burner considerably lengthens the path 16-16 of the air-gas mixture and, as shown diagrammatically at 17, when the chamber or pocket 13 has a sharp bend at 17, the gases and air are diverted at an acute angle (see arrow 18), which ultimately ensures perfect mixing.
With the new burner according to the invention, it has been found that the efficiency is 40 to 50% higher than that of the old known burners, such as that shown diagrammatically in FIG. 1 and this, following the complete use of town gas, butane or similar gas.
According to a particular constructive embodiment of the invention and having advantages from the point of view of industrial production and household maintenance, the burner as represented in FIG. 2 consists of two parts, one of which consists of a cap 19 (FIG. 3) in which a central orifice is made for the free passage of the funnel 12; it is the upper half of the toric chamber 14 with its small holes 15, the lower half being made in the actual burner or lower part 20 (FIG. 4). The cap 19 is simply fitted onto the part 20 on which it rests by two machined surfaces 21 to produce said chamber 14 (FIG. 2).
It is obvious that the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown and that many modifications can be made to the form, the number and the constitution of the elements involved in its realization without going beyond the scope of invention.
