Description

The present invention relates to radiant tube heaters using, as heating energy, the combustion of a combustible gas taken from a distribution network.

By radiant tube heater, it is necessary to consider all the structures currently known including continuous tube systems, although the invention finds a particular preferred application to unitary heaters of the type of those with a pin tube.

The devices of the above type include a burner block intended to perform several simultaneous functions.

The first is to support the burner itself, as well as these operating accessories.

The second is to ensure the combustion air supply to the burner.

The third is that of connection to the tube in which the burner flame develops.

The presently known burner blocks (see, for example, FR-A-2 223 630 and FR-A-2 560 359) can be considered as giving only moderately satisfaction in performing the above functions due to a design structural that does not allow assembly and disassembly of the burner group for maintenance or change and / or does not provide effective protection, in particular against flashbacks of the supply, control and piloting devices of the operation of the burner.

Another disadvantage of the known burner blocks lies in the fact that they are generally ill-suited for ensuring the admission of secondary air under conditions of temperature range favorable to the establishment of good combustion.

An additional drawback of known burner blocks is that they are also generally poorly adapted structurally to assume, in the smallest possible footprint, the combustion and extraction functions which must necessarily be ensured to result in operation. optimal of a hairpin tube heater.

The object of the present invention is to remedy the above drawbacks by proposing a new burner block particularly designed to meet the desired objectives, being of simple construction and easy assembly, which may involve the construction of functional sub-assemblies independent able to be combined in a last simple assembly and adaptation operation to constitute a burner block directly adaptable to a gas heating appliance.

To achieve the above objectives, the burner block according to the invention is characterized in that:
  • the casing forms a mounting flange for a support box, comprises in its mixing and combustion chamber a centering spider and delimits an air intake circuit,
  • the box has a firewall dividing it into a primary air intake chamber and a protective compartment,
  • and the burner group comprises a support adaptable to the box and carrying, on the one hand, a supply solenoid valve disposed in the protective compartment and, in relation to the latter, on the other hand, a burner passing through the protective partition fire, extending in the primary air intake chamber and in the mixing and combustion chamber and having a combustion head centered and carried by the spider.

Fig. 1 shows a heating device 1 comprising a burner block 2 and a radiant tube 3 associated with a reflector 4. According to the example shown, the radiant tube 3 is constituted by a segment of outgoing tube 5 and a segment of return tube 6 from which a mechanical extraction of the combustion gases is carried out. It should be considered that the object of the invention, in part at least, also applies to heating appliances which consist of a continuous tube which is not necessarily shaped as a pin.

In all cases, the heating appliance is intended to be kept high in a room to be heated by means of suspension means such as 7.

The burner block designated as a whole by the reference 2 consists of a casing 10 supporting, in relation to a supporting box 11, a burner group 12 intended to be connected to a network 13 for distributing a pressurized combustible gas .

The housing 10 is produced, as shown in FIGS. 2 to 5, to delimit a chamber 14, called mixing and combustion chamber, opening from a flange 15 for mounting the box 11. Chamber 14 is extended, preferably opposite the flange 15, by a sleeve 16 for connecting a radiant tube 5, for example fitted internally and immobilized axially by any suitable means, such as a pressure screw 18. The casing 10 delimits, laterally to the chamber 14, a secondary air intake chamber 19 which has an inlet opening 20 opening from a flange 21 defining an adaptation plane for a filter or a grid not shown. The chamber 19 preferably also has a hole 22 known as an air intake derivative with respect to the main intake authorized by the hearing 20 . The outlet 22, preferably also provided with a grid or a filter, is oriented so as to allow a darning of hot air and is, therefore, located at least near the sleeve 16. The chamber d secondary air intake 19 communicates with the chamber 14, for example at the plane of the flange 15.

The chamber 14 is made so as to include a cross 23 for centering and supporting the combustion head 24 of the group 12. The cross 23 is, for example, advantageously formed by fins 25 rising from the peripheral wall internal of the chamber 14 in radial directions, being interrupted at a distance from each other, so as to materialize a seat coaxial with the connection sleeve 16.

5. The casing 10 also has, in one of its walls, an opening 26 allowing the adaptation of an ignition electrode 27 intended to be placed downstream of the head 24 inside the chamber 14, in the combustion part of the latter, being oriented substantially opposite an ignition ring 28 presented by the head 24, as can be seen in FIG. 5.

In the case of specific application to a heating appliance comprising a radiant tube of the pin type, as illustrated in FIG. 1, the casing 10 is also advantageously made to comprise, laterally to the chamber 14, a housing 29 opening from the flange 15 and extended by a connection sleeve 30 with an axis parallel to the sleeve 16. The connection sleeve 30 is intended to allow the adaptation by any appropriate means of the open end part of the return tube 6. The housing 29 is intended to contain at least partially a mechanical extractor not shown, for example of the centrifugal type. To this end, the housing 29 is made in the form of a volute and communicates with a pipe 31 opening by a discharge opening 32 in the adaptation plane formed by the flange 21. The housing 29 is separated from the chamber d secondary air intake 19, by a partition 33 forming a strip 34 establishing itself in the plane of the flange 15 with which it is connected.

The box 11 is constituted by a housing 40, for example but not exclusively, made of sheet metal and having a dropped edge 41 by which it can be adapted and mounted on the flange 15 by means in particular of screws or the like 42. The housing 40 has at least one open wall such as the top and the bottom and comprises an internal firewall 43 dividing it into a chamber 44 for secondary air intake communicating with the ambient environment through the opening of the walls of the housing and into a protective compartment 45. In the case of production for application to an apparatus of the pin-tube type, the housing 40 also has a partition wall 46 intended to cooperate with the bar 34. This wall 46 delimits, in the housing 40, a second compartment 47 reserved for the mechanical extractor, as well as its operating and control means.

The housing 11 supports the burner group 12 which comprises a support 48 ensuring the attachment of a supply solenoid valve 49 capable of being connected to the network 13. The support 48 comprises a plate 50 known as attachment on the rear wall 51 of the housing 40 and a front wall 52 intended to cooperate with the firewall 43 to mask an opening 53 that the latter has.

The support 48 carries, through the cooperation wall, a nozzle holder fitting 54 brought through the opening 53 of the firewall 43. The fitting 54, more particularly illustrated in FIG. 6, carries a removable nozzle 60 and has a socket 61 for internal pressure measurement. The fitting 54 ensures the fixing a burner 62 consisting of a tubular body forming, from an adapter 63 on the fitting 54, a cylindrical part 64 provided with ports 65 for primary air intake, opening in the chamber 44 . the cylindrical portion 64 is extended by a converging portion 66 itself extended by a divergent section 67 leading to the combustion head 24 supported and centered by the spider 23. the head 24 comprises externally a removable shroud 68 forming, in the plane of the open section of the head 24, the crown 28 consisting of an annular ramp 69 of axial holes opening out inside a recess 70 formed between the ferrule 68 and the tubular body which, moreover, has a series of radial holes 71 communicating with the room. The series of holes 71 is formed in the tubular body upstream of an annular flange 72 formed internally by the tubular body, being constituted, for example, by a removable jacket 73.

The combustible gas delivered under pressure by the nozzle 60 causes the suction of a primary air constituting with the gas a combustible mixture circulating inside the tubular body in the direction f₁. Part of this primary mixture hits the rim 72 and is derived by the series of holes 71 in the direction of the recess 70 to be delivered by the outer peripheral ring 28 bordering the open section of the head 24. As can be seen in FIG. 5 and as has been specified above, the electrode 27 is located in proximity relation with the crown 28, which makes it possible to produce a suitable ignition of the primary fuel mixture diffused at relatively low pressure by the crown 28. Such an ignition then makes it possible to ignite the high pressure combustible torch delivered by the open section of the head 24 and constituted by the main stream of the primary mixture having passed inside the tubular body constituting the burner 62.

This pressurized gas torch is associated with the outlet of the burner to the secondary air supplied by the chamber 14 in relation to the intake chamber 19. A pressurized operation possibly variable and modular can then intervene by controlling the solenoid valve 49 by means in particular of the pressure tap 61.

As is apparent from the above, the burner block according to the invention is of particularly simple construction, since it involves a main casing assuming the function of delimiting the different rooms, housings and connection sleeves, as well as that of support and centering of the burner and extractor.

The casing thus designed also makes it possible to maintain and adapt the box 11 which is responsible for delimiting the secondary air intake chamber 44 and the compartment 45 isolated by the firewall 43 including the passage opening 53 is reconstituted by the cooperation wall 52. In this way, a specific function of support and delimitation of chambers and protective compartments is ensured by a housing which is made in a simple manner, for example only from a sheet folded.

The housing 11 also allows the support and quick fixing of the burner group 12 which can be adapted, by being mounted by the rear wall 51, by the fixing plate 50 and by the centering intervening between the head 24 of the burner and the spider 23 . a quick change for cleaning, adjustment or replacement can be assured, since, in addition, the burner group 12 is a subset fully removable.

The housing 11 fulfills a double function in the case of application to devices with a pin tube, since, by means of the partition wall 46, it delimits the secondary air intake and intake intake circuit. primary air and isolates the secondary compartment 47 reserved for the extractor which is thus also protected against any risk of flashback by means of this wall 46.
