Radiant-tube gas-operated heater. Gas burner unit for radiant tube heater, of the type comprising a burner group (12) arranged on a casing (10) delimiting a mixing and combustion chamber (14) extended by a sleeve (16) for connection of a radiant tube, characterised in that: the casing (10) forms a flange (15) for mounting a support case (11), and comprises in its mixing and combustion chamber (14) a centring crossmember (23), the case (11) comprises a chamber (44) for admission of primary air and a protection compartment (45), and the burner group (12) comprises a support (48) bearing a feed electrovalve (49) and a burner (62) which has a combustion head (24) which is centred and supported by the crossmember.
