"Pipe connection".
In piping installations, use is made of various fittings and in particular elbow or elbow fittings allowing two pipes to be joined together forming a certain angle. The fittings generally used have a circular cross section and elliptical shaped connection sections. With bends of this kind it is only possible to make the connection of two pipes in a straight line or that of two pipes forming between them an angle such that the two elliptical connecting sections are in contact. A disadvantage of these fittings is that it is necessary to use a fitting suitable for each angle.
The present invention, with a view to remedying this drawback, consists of a tubular connector that can be associated at a variable angle with an identical connector in order to constitute an elbow for joining two pipes making any angle between them.
According to one characteristic of the invention, each of the two fittings forming the elbow is a tube whose section

line is elliptical in shape, Another feature resides in that the connection is limited at the end constituting the connection section by a section affecting the circular shape, that is to say that the connection section is in a plane forming an angle of 45 with the longitudinal axis of the connecting element.
As a result of the circular shape of the connection section, it is possible in an elbow comprising two connectors according to the invention to pivot a tubular connector with respect to the other while maintaining contact between the two circular sections so as to orient a connection in any way with respect to the other, that is to say that it is possible by this pivoting to vary between 90 and 180 *, depending on the requirements, the angle formed by the longitudinal axes of the two fittings.
A fitting of elliptical cross section is, according to one particularity, furnished at its end of circular section with a collar serving for welding or for the passage of assembly bolts in the case where holes are provided which have to preferably the appearance of portions of circular crowns.
Other features may appear in the description of the appended drawings, showing by way of non-limiting example, one embodiment of the invention.
The figure is a schematic perspective view of an elbow made up of two connectors according to the invention.
The connector according to the invention is a tubular element 1 having an elliptical cross section. This element is limited at one end by a section 2 of circular shape lying in a plane making an angle of 45 with the longitudinal axis of said element. and surrounded by an assembly collar 3. This necklace has the appearance of a crown and is

used for welding or it can be drilled with holes which are preferably portions of circular rings and through which the clamping bolts pass. On this circular section 2 it is possible to apply (see figure) an identical circular section belonging to the second component connection element, the elbow.
The two circular sections can be kept in contact for any value, between 90 * and 180, of the angle formed between them by the longitudinal axes of the two connectors forming the elbow. Hence, a connector according to the invention allows the joining of two pipes at any angle as well as the recovery of the two elements of the connector in the event of a change in the installation.
In an alternative embodiment of the connector, it is, according to the invention, provided with a view to facilitating assembly, to limit at its two ends the connector of elliptical cross section by two sections of circular shape, one being, inclined 45 'on the longitudinal axis of the connector and the other being perpendicular to the latter, that is to say that at one end of the connector there is a gradual change from a circular cross section to an elliptical cross section.
