Abstract
Description
The invention relates to clamps used to support pipes along the walls of a building, for example pipes for installing heating, distributing or discharging water in buildings.
Generally these pipes are supported from place to place by clamps sealed to the wall and each consisting of two semi-circular parts extended on either side by radial wings pierced for the passage of clamping screws; the part fixed to the wall has in its middle a rod for facing outwards, or else a threaded hole allowing it to be fixed on this rod.
These collars have a diameter corresponding to that of each pipe so that the installer must have on the site sets of collars of all the diameters of the various pipes to be laid.
The invention proposes collars of variable diameters which can each be suitable for pipes of several different diameters, which makes it possible to reduce the assortment of collars necessary on the site.
On the other hand it is often advisable to interpose between the collar and the pipe a flexible and insulating lining # so as to reduce the transmission of noise and vibrations between pipes and walls. Again, it is necessary to have different packing dimensions for the different pipe diameters and the interposition of this packing between collar and pipe is often an awkward operation which exposes to faults. The invention also proposes new, more flexible flexible fittings which can in particular be used with the adjustable collars in question.
The invention is described below in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings in which - Figures 1 and 2 are perspective views illustrating the same support collar in two mounting positions corresponding to pipes of different diameters, - Figure 3 is a sectional view of this collar in the assembled position, with its insulating lining, - Figures 4 and 5 show in perspective two embodiments of the lining.
We see in Figure 1 that the collar consists of two circular portions, a so-called wall portion 1 to be fixed on a wall and a complementary portion 2 to encircle the pipe to be supported. Each of these portions 1-2 consists of a thin strip, preferably of metal, relatively flexible, bent along an arc of circle having substantially the same radius r which corresponds to the smallest diameter of the pipe to be supported. The wall portion 1 is fixed to the wall for example by screwing on the projecting part of a sealing rod 5 (fig.3) and it has for this purpose a nut 4 which is embedded in a stamped part 5 towards the middle of this portion 1.
The two portions l and 2 form, in the state of fig. 1, each an arc of a circle of angle at the center A clearly greater than 1800 and they are arranged in such a way that two of their ends 6-7 are simply close together and neighboring while their two other ends 8-9 overlap in a notable arc. In the example illustrated, the portions 1 and 2 are respectively inscribed at an angle at the center A of the order of approximately 2300 and their ends 8-9 overlap in an arc of a circle B of approximately 1000.
These ends 8-9 comprising means for hooking one to the other in an adjustable covering position, in this case on the one hand a lug or hook 10 projecting outwards from the end 8 of the portion wall 1 and on the other hand a series of spaced holes 11 in the end 9 of the other portion 2.
The adjacent ends 6-7 are shaped so as to receive a tightening means tending to get closer to tighten the pipe, this means being, in this example, the conformation of the ends into two radial lugs 12-13 drilled for the passage of a bolt 14, the nut 15 of which is advantageously crimped on the tab 12.
In Figure 1 the portion 2 of the collar is attached to the hook 10 by the hole 11 furthest from the end 9 which corresponds to the smallest diameter of the collar. In fig.2 the portion 2 is hooked by the hole II closest to the free end 9, which corresponds to the largest diameter of the collar. When the bolt 14 is mounted, the collar takes, in the latter case, and due to the flexibility of the portions 1 and 2, a substantially circular shape of the radius R so that it can be applied very regularly around the periphery of the pipe. In this latter position the angle at the center A in which the portions 1 and 2 are inscribed has obviously decreased, but it nevertheless remains greater than 1800.
Il est de l'ordre de 1900 environ. It is around 1900.
We see that with this adjustable attachment of the portions 1 and 2 the same collar can be suitable for several different diameters of pipes, which makes it possible to have only a reduced set of collars for mounting a wide range of different pipes.
L'unepeut avoir un ergot d'accrochage 21 et l'autre une série de trous coopérants 22.Figure 3 mcntre still an adjustable collar where the portions 1 and 2 are hooked by an intermediate hole 11 and this collar is completed by an inner lining 16 flexible and insulating, for example rubber to absorb noise and vibrations. This lining is established in the form of an open flexible band having the width of the collar and a developed length greater than the length of the inner circumference of the collar. The ends of this strip are cut so as to be connected without additional thickness and in an adjustable position when the strip is closed on itself. Figures 4 and 5 show two embodiments for such a packing. In one case, the strip has on one side a tab of reduced width 17 and on the other side a corresponding notch 18. The edges of the tab and of the notch are advantageously serrated to provide a positive attachment keeping the band closed on the pipe. at the time of installation. In the second case the strip has at each end an alternate thinned part 19-20. One can have a hooking lug 21 and the other a series of cooperating holes 22.
The flexible gasket in the form of a strip is preferably fixed by its central part to the wall portion of the collar 1 in order to form with it a more easily manipulated assembly. In the example illustrated, this fastening can be carried out by providing a cut-out lug 23 on the portion 1 and a corresponding hole 24 on the strip. Other fastening means can be imagined, for example gluing the strip in the portion 1.
