The collar (1) comprises an annular flexible portion (2), initially open and having two closely spaced ends (3, 4), which is put in place and clamped around a bearing element (17), tubular or cylindrical. Each end (3, 4) of the annular flexible portion (2) is provided with at least one lug (5, 6, 7) protruding outwards, the lug (5) of one end (3) coming, in final position, beyond the one or more lugs (6, 7) of the other end (4). Thus the insertion between these tabs (5, 6, 7) of the element to be fixed (16) ensures, in a single operation, the clamping of the annular flexible part (2) around the bearing element (17), and the retention of the element to be fixed (16). Application to the rapid fixing of electric cables or fluid transport pipes, especially on these cranks of vehicle directions.

Description

The present invention relates to a collar for attaching a tubular or cylindrical element, such as electric cable or fluid transport pipe, to a bearing member which is also generally a tubular or cylindrical element, such as a tube , a pipe or a sheath. This invention applies in particular, but not exclusively, to the automotive field, and it is more particularly applicable to the attachment of electrical cables, hydraulic pipes or air passages, on tubular casings of directions of motor vehicles. In their present configurations, the clamps for tubular or cylindrical elements require two separate and successive operations for the complete fixing of a tubular or cylindrical element on a bearing element. A first operation is the establishment and locking of the collar on the bearing surface. A second operation is the establishment and locking of the element to be fixed, tubular or cylindrical, on the clamp. In addition, the bearing surfaces are exclusively flat surfaces, and not cylindrical surfaces. The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks, and therefore its purpose is to provide a collar for fixing a tubular or cylindrical element in a single operation, so simply and quickly, on a member bearing itself tubular or cylindrical, while ensuring a firm connection between the two elements through a sufficient clamping force. For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a collar for fixing a tubular or cylindrical element, such as an electric cable or a fluid transport pipe, to a member which is also tubular or cylindrical, this fixing collar comprising a flexible portion of generally annular shape, initially open and having two ends close together, which is intended to be put in place and clamped around the bearing element, each of the two ends of the annular flexible portion being provided with at least one projecting lug towards the outside of this annular part, the leg or tabs of one end coming, in final position, beyond the leg or legs of the other end, so as to be able to enclose, between these legs, the element tubular or cylindrical to fix. Thus, the inventive idea consists of a collar which surrounds the bearing element, and whose ends in the form of legs intersect, so that the insertion, between these legs, of the element to be fastened simultaneously makes the clamping collar around the bearing element, and the immobilization of the element to fix itself. In one embodiment of the invention, the annular flexible portion of the fastening collar comprises, at intervals, deformation beads projecting at least internally and provided to bear on the outer surface of the bearing member. The clamping force is thus applied to the bearing element through these beads, distributed over the length of the collar and on the periphery of the bearing member. According to another characteristic of the invention, combined with the previous one, the annular flexible portion of the fixing collar is divided longitudinally into two halves, joined by a film-hinge, which facilitates opening and closing of the fastening collar, for its setting up around the bearing element. As regards the tabs of this fixing collar, these comprise, for example, a single tab projecting at a first end of the annular flexible portion, and two other tabs projecting at the second end of the flexible annular portion and separated by a slot, the single leg of the first end being provided to take place between the two legs of the second end, in the slot separating them.

Advantageously, each lug comprises, in its radially outermost zone, an inclined input surface adapted to receive the thrust of the element to be fixed, during the insertion of this element. The set of inclined surfaces, belonging to the different legs of the collar, forms a V which ensures the guidance of the element to be fixed during its insertion, and the progressive tightening of the collar around the bearing element, before the element to fix reaches its final position. Preferably, each lug further comprises, in its median zone under the inclined surface, a substantially semi-circular recess intended to position, in its final position, the tubular or cylindrical element to be fixed. This element to be fastened thus finally snaps between the different tabs, which ensures both the locking of the element to be fixed on the collar, and the locking of this collar on the bearing element. Overall, a collar is thus obtained that is particularly suitable for attaching a tubular or cylindrical element to an element that is also tubular or cylindrical, a single pressure operation simultaneously making the collar fastening around the bearing element and the retention of the element to be fixed on this collar. A sufficient clamping force on the bearing element is guaranteed by the beads of the annular flexible portion. The inclined surfaces of the tabs guide the element to be fixed, during its insertion, by orienting it in the appropriate direction corresponding to its final position. In any case, the invention will be better understood with the aid of the description which follows, with reference to the appended schematic drawing showing, by way of example, an embodiment of this collar for fixing a tubular element. or cylindrical on a bearing element; Figure 1 is a perspective view of a fastener collar according to the present invention, in its initial open configuration; Figure 2 is a front view corresponding to Figure 1; Figure 3 is a perspective view of the collar of Figures 1 and 2, in its closed configuration; Figure 4 is a front view corresponding to Figure 3; Figure 5 is a perspective view showing a tubular element attached to a tubular member carrying via the collar object of the invention. Referring more particularly to FIGS. 1 and 2, the fastening collar which is the subject of the invention, designated as a whole by the reference numeral 1, comprises an annular flexible part 2 initially open, of relatively small thickness, which has a first end 3 located opposite a second end 4. The first end 3 of the annular flexible portion 2 is provided with a single lug 5 protruding radially outwardly. The second end 4 of the annular flexible portion 2 is provided with two parallel tabs 6 and 7, both projecting radially outwardly, and separated from each other by a slot 8. The annular flexible portion 2 comprises, distributed at regular intervals along its length, a series of transverse beads 9 projecting externally and internally. This flexible annular portion 2 is divided longitudinally into two halves 10 and 11, joined to one another by a hinge film 12 located between two successive beads 9. Each of the tabs 5, 6 and 7, located at the ends 3 and 4 of the annular flexible portion 2, has an inclined surface 13, which forms a rectangular facet. In its median zone, that is to say under the inclined surface 13 and above its attachment to the end 3 or 4 of the annular portion 2, each lug 5, 6 or 7 further comprises a recess 14 of substantially semicircular shape. The collar 1, shaped as just described, is made of a moldable synthetic material, and it is molded in an open configuration, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. From this initial open configuration, the collar 1 can be brought into a closed configuration, shown in Figures 3 and 4, wherein the single leg 5 of the first end 3 takes place between the two legs 6 and 7 of the second end 4, in other words in the slot 8 separating the two legs 6 and 7. Thus, the two ends 3 and 4 of the annular portion 2 are close together, the leg 5 of the first end 3 coming even beyond the legs 6 and 7 of the second end 4. In this configuration closed, the inclined surfaces 13 of the different tabs 5, 6 and 7 together form a V configuration, while the semicircular recesses 14 of these lugs 5, 6 and 7 complement each other to form a passage 15 of section ci 2. Referring also to Figure 5, the use of the clamp 1 previously described is as follows: It is to fix a tubular or cylindrical element 16, relatively small diameter, against another tubular or cylindrical element 17, designated bearing member, relatively large diameter. The terms tubular and cylindrical here only describe the general appearance of the fastener 16 and the carrier member 17, which in detail may have various features, such as a ribbed appearance as shown in FIG. element to be fixed 16.

The annular flexible portion 2 of the collar 1 is first opened more strongly (from its initial position), by spreading its two ends 3 and 4 through the hinge film 12, to be engaged around the bearing member 17. Then, the annular flexible portion 2 is closed around the bearing member 17, its two ends 3 and 4 being brought closer together until overlapping, with interlocking of the different legs 5, 6 and 7. The element to be fixed 16 , brought parallel to the bearing member 17, is engaged and pressed between the inclined surfaces 13 of the different tabs 5, 6 and 7, which causes their spacing with clamping of the annular flexible portion 2 around the bearing member 17. L member 16, continuing to be depressed, finally reaches the passage 15 of circular section formed by the recesses 14 of the different legs 5, 6 and 7.

In particular, having reached the passage 15, the element 16 to be fixed tends to bring the two ends 3 and 4 of the flexible annular portion by application of opposing forces: this approximation is transformed, thanks to the beads 9 applied against the outer surface of the bearing member 17, in an elastic deformation of the annular flexible portion 2, ensuring a sufficient clamping force all around the bearing member 17. At the same time, the tensioning of the annular flexible portion 2 tightens the legs 5, 6 and 7 on either side of the element to be fixed 16, so that this element 16 is firmly held in the position shown in FIG. 5. The element to be fixed 16 may in particular be a cable electric, for example hydraulic fluid transport pipe or an air passage. The carrier element 17 is for example a tubular motor vehicle steering housing, this direction can be manual or assisted, and in the latter case of the electric or hydraulic type. Depending on the fasteners to be made, a single collar 1 as previously described, or several similar collars are usable. Of course, the shapes and dimensions of the collars are adapted to the elements to be fixed and to the load-bearing elements, for each case of application.

35 It goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the sole embodiment of this clamp which has been described above, for example; it embraces, on the contrary, all variants of implementation and application respecting the same principle. Thus, in particular, one would not depart from the scope of the invention: - by modifying the shape details of the collar, or the number of tabs provided at the ends of its annular flexible portion; by eliminating the intermediate hinge film from this annular part, if this latter itself has a sufficient flexibility to allow it to open and close around the bearing element; - Destining this collar to the fixing of any tubular or cylindrical element, on any bearing element also tubular or cylindrical, in the automotive field or in any other technical or industrial sector. 35
