qui va suivre d'un exemple de réalisation de l'invention repré- senté aux dessins annexés, dans lesquels : la figure 1 est une vue schématique en plan d'un tracteur et d'un semoir semi-porté accouplé à ce tracteur ; la figure 2 est, à plus grande échelle, une coupe verti- cale de détail de cet ensemble suivant la ligne 11-II de la figure 1 ; la figure 3 est une vue schématique en élévation latérale de l'ensemble tracteur-semoir, en cours de travail à l'échelle de la figure 1 ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Device for coupling to a tractor of a semi-mounted agricultural machine "
When a semi-mounted agricultural machine is coupled to a tractor, the rigidity of the connection causes the agricultural machine to take an inclination on the ground which depends on that of the tractor and that it does not exactly follow the movements of the ground on which she's passing. This always presents disadvantages, but more important in the case of a seeder, because the sowing is not done regularly at the desired depth.
The object of the invention is a device for coupling a semi-mounted agricultural machine to a tractor, which avoids these drawbacks by making the latter absolutely independent of the stability position of the tractor *
The coupling device which is the subject of the invention is characterized in that the tractor frame comprises at the rear a rotary transverse axis, provided in its central part with a longitudinal sleeve, and the chassis of the tractor. the agricultural machine with a longitudinal bar,
which can engage in this sleeve and be held there by a retaining member allowing its rotation
This essential characteristic of the invention and other characteristics particular to a seeder comprising the coupling device according to the invention will emerge from the description
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
which follows of an exemplary embodiment of the invention shown in the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a schematic plan view of a tractor and of a semi-mounted seed drill coupled to this tractor; FIG. 2 is, on a larger scale, a vertical sectional detail of this assembly taken along line 11-II of FIG. 1; FIG. 3 is a schematic side elevational view of the tractor-seeder assembly, during operation, to the scale of FIG. 1;
FIG. 4 is a schematic view of this assembly in elevation taken from the rear of the seeder.
According to the example of execution chosen and shown, the chassis 1 of the tractor (fig.l) is provided at the rear with a bracket made up of two groups of twin flat bars 2 and 3, between which a transverse axis 4 is journaled. At the center of this axis is fixed a longitudinal sleeve 5 which serves as a bearing for a longitudinal bar 6 integral with the frame of the towed machine.
In the example chosen of a semi-mounted seeder, the bar 6 is hollow (fig. 2) it is pegged in two sleeves 7 clamped under the cross members of the frame 8 of the seeder and retained in the bearing sleeve 5 by a collar split 9. tightened by a bolt 10 on its end. Bearing 5 is fitted with a lubricator 11.
At the rear, the hollow bar 6 is fitted onto a boss 12 of a reducer 13, in which a short longitudinal shaft 14 rotates, linked by a flexible shaft 15 inside the hollow bar to the tractor engine. The shaft 12 is provided with a helical screw 16 engaged with a tangent wheel 17 fixed on a shaft 18 transverse to the frame, connected at its ends by gears with the distributor shaft 19 housed in the seed box 20.
This rests by its own weight on the frame, to which it is linked by a front articulation axis 21,
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
a pulling cable 22 allowing the driver of the tractor to tilt it forward. The seed box 20 carries, suspended from its rear wall by chains 23, the coulters 24 to which the seed drop tubes 25 terminate and which are attached to the end of oblique arms 26 articulated to the forward frame. and below the articulation axis 21.
The chassis rests on the ground at the rear by two wheels 27 offset towards the rear and to the side (see also FIG. 1).
The axis of each of them is carried by an oblique yoke 28 articulated by collars 29 on a vertical rod 30 integral with the frame.
The frame of the seed drill has a double freedom of movement with respect to the tractor, on the one hand in rotation with the transverse axis 4 in the tractor bracket, on the other hand in the transverse direction by rotation of its hollow bar 6 in the bearing 5 carried by this transverse axis.
FIG. 3 shows that, by applying the first freedom of movement, the seeder can be on a slope in a position parallel to the ground, while the tractor, having arrived at the bottom of this slope, already has a horizontal position.
Figure 4 shows that, in the event of warping of the ground, the seeder can remain parallel to the portion of the ground on which it is located, while the tractor has a different position of stability transversely to the direction of travel.
The coupling device which has just been described and which is particularly suitable for a seed drill, can be applied to any agricultural machine and the invention is of course not limited to the embodiment shown and described.
