D'autres caractéristiques de l'invention ressortiront de la description qui va suivre, en se référant au dessin annexé, qui montre, à titre d'exemple, un mode de réalisation de l'invention, et dans lequel* la fige 1 est une vue schématique en élévation d'un dispositif d'enroulement de l'armature de précompression; la fig. 2 est une vue schématique de profil, de ce dispositif! la fig. 3 est une vue schématique en élévation du dispositif utilisé pour le déroulement de l'armature de pré- compression et l'enroulement simultané de l'armature de frottage;

<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

<Desc/Clms Page number 7>

Improved method and apparatus for manufacturing shrink-wrapped concrete pipes and products thereof. the present invention relates to a process for the manufacture of pipes or other concrete bodies provided with a hooping of the type in which the pipe is subjected before hooping to an external compression at least equal to that caused by the hooping, this precompres' sion being intended to cause the concrete to set before final fretLage the permanent plastic contraction that it would normally take under the action of shrinking.
The method according to the present invention is remarkable in particular in that it consists in carrying out a pre-compression of the pipe by shrinking it by means of a reinforcement under tension at least equal to that of the final reinforcement, to then be removed. this reinforcement then to carry out the hooping
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
definitive with the same precespression reinforcement by rolling it up again as it unwinds with a tension at most equal to that under which it was wound the first time.
The subject of the invention is also the application for this rubbing method of the method for winding the reinforcements described in French patent N 835.177 filed on 26 Aefot 1937 by the applicant for "Precédé de frettage, machinée fear its application and processed product obtained ".
Other characteristics of the invention will emerge from the description which follows, with reference to the appended drawing, which shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the invention, and in which * the figure 1 is a schematic elevation view of a winding device for the precompression armature; fig. 2 is a schematic profile view of this device! fig. 3 is a schematic elevational view of the device used for unwinding the pre-compression frame and simultaneous winding of the rubbing frame;
Figt 4 is a schematic side view of this device; fig. 5 is a schematic elevational view of a device making it possible to carry out the pre-pressure winding and possibly the rubbing winding in a single operation; fig. 6 is a schematic side view of the device; fig. 7 is a schematic elevational view of another variant in which the pre-pressure and the hooping are carried out simultaneously;
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Fig. 8 is a schematic side view of the device.
Referring to the drawings, the part 1 to be rubbed, for example a concrete pipe, armed or not, metal or any other material, this mounted between the two plates 2 and 3 3 of a turn. The plate 2 is driven by means of a gear train 4, by an electric motor 6. The pipe can thus be put into rotational movement.
Following the example of execution shown in fig let 2, the lathe further comprises a carriage 6 which can move along a bench 7. This carriage carries a reel 8 on which the bundle of wire '99 is placed, for example. steel, intended for reinforcement of the pipe. This carriage is set in motion by a lead screw 10, also actuated by the motor 6 via a train of gears 11.
The operation for the first pre-pressure winding is as follows: the pipe or other part 1 is placed between the plates 2 and 3 of the lathe, the carriage 6 being at one end of the bench. The steel wire 12 is fixed by any known method at the end of the pipe at a and the motor is started so as to rotate the plates 2 and 3 and the tube 1 in the direction of the arrow f1. The wire is therefore wound around the pipe 1 along a helix whose pitch depends on that of the lead screw 10 as well as on the ratio of the angular speeds of this screw and of the pipe.
To ensure the ease of the wire under the neoes- ary tension for the precompression, it would be possible to interpose between the unwinding apparatus and the pipe or other part 1, a brake 13 (freeze 2) which would not allow the wire to flow and s 'wind up only under this tension fixed in advance.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
However, this process, which absorbs considerable energy by braking, has several drawbacks which are avoided by eliminating the winding in two temples, the brake 13 is eliminated and, during the first step (freezes. 1 and 2), the wire is wrapped around the pipe as above-deorit but without tension, that is to say to the nearest friction, without expenditure of energy.
When this first winding is finished, the wire is cut and its end in b (freezes @ 3 and 4) is immobilized on the pipe after having housed near the end b a bouole in the strip we place a roller tensioner 17 carrying a counterweight 18 the weight of which is approximately twice the precompression voltage to be achieved.
The lathe is then started in the reverse direction from the first (arrow f2) and during the second step of the operation, the initial winding takes place by the strand 16, the wire winding again in parallel by the strand 16 , but this time under tension. The thread tension is also exerted on the two strands 15 and 16, so that the winding torque is, at the friction required, severely harms the only work necessary to ease the tension of the thread being provided by the descent the counterweight as the wire lengthens caused by its tensioning.
At the end of this winding and after a time depending on the characteristics of the concrete, the pipe has taken all its plastic shrinkage and can remove the precompression tension therefrom to effect the final shrinking of the pipe.
The tensioning counterweight 18 having moved towards the end of the frame, the load on the counterweight is reduced so as to bring the tension of the wire back to the value corresponding to the final rubbing of the pipe. We start the lathe in the opposite direction (arrow f1) and for
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
At this same time of the operation, the winding takes place via the strand 15, the wire winding again via the strand 16, but this time under the rubbing tension. The winding torque remains zero, except for friction, the only work generated by the reduction in tension of the yarn being absorbed by the rise of the counterweight as the yarn increases due to its reduction in tension.
According to another variant of the invention shown in fig. 5 and 6, the two pre-compression winding operations provided above are carried out simultaneously; on the one hand, the strand 12 is wound under little tension, on the other hand there are one or more dead turns 20 which tighten to maintain the strand 15 of the loop 16-16 which carries a tensioner 17 with counterweight 18 corresponding approximately to twice the precompression voltage to be achieved.
Strand 15 unwinds as strands 14 and 16 wind up.The tension of strand 12 is negligible, those of strands 1 (and 16 are equal and, consequently, the winding torque remains zero except for friction, the tension work being provided by the descent of the counterweight 18.
This latter variant therefore has an important additional advantage from an industrial point of view owing to the fact that it increases the working speed of the precompression.
The time of the operation can be further reduced by simultaneously carrying out the precompression rubbing and the final shrinking. For this purpose, one could have, on the apparatus of the freezes. 6 and 6 and to the crimping of the reel 8, a brake 11 directly giving the pre-compression tension to the strand 12, the counterweight 18 no longer having, in this case, more than the grating necessary to give the winding its final shrinking tension .
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
But this arrangement which requires the use of a brake already has the drawbacks. reported on this subject and it is preferred to proceed as shown in the figs. 7 and 8.
According to this embodiment, the wire coming from the reel 8 is wound without tension on some% bear, passes over a return pulley 21 mounted above the lathe in a carriage 22 movable on a rail 23 parallel to the lathe, then passes over

strands <8 and 29.
It could be placed the pulleys and and i4 of aorta that the strands g6 and 27 on the one hand and 48 and 29 on the other hand are in the extensions of one another. This device with deflection pulleys can of course also be used in the other modes of operation described above,
To facilitate the end of the operation, the plate 3 of the lathe is provided with a drum 30 of the same diameter as that of the pipe and on which are wound the turns not

<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
It should be retorted that the invention makes it possible to compensate not only for the plasticity of the concrete, but also for the non-elastic deformations of the reinforcement, in particular the settlement of the various strands when this reinforcement is constituted by a cable or a strand. The prior winding of the reinforcement under a tension greater than the desired rubbing tension furthermore constitutes a resistance test of said reinforcement and gives the elements thus obtained an increased grip.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the details of execution described above, which have been given only by way of example.
Thus, the operations which have been described with a horizontal turn can be carried out with a vertical turn. Likewise, the reinforcement can be formed by several independent wires in one or more layers. Finally, the devices used for the ease of carrying out the process according to the invention may undergo any suitable construction modifications to enable them to be adapted to the type of parts treated.
