<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Apparatus for physical treatment of the human body
Devices are known which serve to increase the circulation of blood under the epidermis, thanks to the suction effects. but these devices have only a very small effect, since they do not extend over a large area and, moreover, because they cannot sufficiently adapt to the different forms of the body.
The object of the present invention is an apparatus for the physical treatment of the human body intended to stimulate the circulation of blood under the skin by means of a suction and massage effect, characterized in that it has a number of suction cups which are arranged on a membrane which can adapt to the shape of the body in such a way that it exerts simultaneously thanks to the suction effect and also thanks to the movement of the device on this part of the body a massage effect.
The accompanying drawing shows an embodiment of the object of the present invention
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section through it, out of use.
Fig 2 is a view from the human body
Fig. 3 is a side view in the suction position
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
A pyramid-shaped connection piece is screwed to the suction pipe 1. The latter is made of a rigid material, for example metal and serves to .aaint - nir the suction cap 3 in the form of a membrane, which by means of a peripheral flange 4 is mounted on the edge of the connecting piece 3 and maintained in this way by the latter. The membrane 3 consists, in order to achieve its aim, of an elastic material, for example a rubber plate, its flange 4 being intended to stick closely to the connecting piece; -, at the start of the suction effect.
The suction cap 3 has six round tubes 5 for containing the suction cups 6, which are preferably made of glass and the tips of which are intended to be inserted into the tubes 5 as shown.
The free end of the suction pipe 1 is provided with grooves 7, in order to be able to fit therein an oonic tubing 8, preferably made of a ductile material, for example rubber. This tubing serves as a connection element to a suction line, for example to the connection nozzle of a vacuum cleaner, a vacuum pump or the like.
Instead of the six described pipes serving as suction pipes, it is also possible to provide a smaller or larger number. If not all suction cups are to be used or if only one suction cup 6 is used, the nozzles 5 which are not used can be closed with plugs.
This device is used during the care given to the human body to be placed on the part of the body which must be treated in order to exert a stimulating effect on the circulation of the blood in this part thanks to the force of suction of the vents, the disposition of several of these suction cups
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
owing a surface effect, and this effect being supported by the massage effect caused by the movement of the device on the part of the body.
To obtain the suction effect, special motor-driven vacuum cleaners can be used. But the device can also be connected to a vacuum cleaner which is found in most households, to a vacuum pump or to an injector operating with a water pipe.
