REVENDICATIONS

BOILER WITH FINNED GENERATOR TUBES
This invention relates to a boiler, the main feature of which resides in that the steam-generating tubes, which completely surround the hearth, are provided, in whole or in part, with fins arranged so as to orient the path of the gases s 'escaping from the hearth, in order to ensure optimum licking of the generator tubes by said gases, the thermal efficiency of the boiler being significantly increased.
The description which follows, with reference to the appended drawing given by way of example, will make it clear how the invention can be implemented.

The fig.l shows in elevation;) partially cut away, a boiler according to the invention.
Fig. 2 is a horizontal section of said boiler.
Fig.3 is a detail view on a larger scale showing the way in which the fins are mounted on the tubes.
As can be seen in the figures, the boiler constituted, for example, by a refractory casing a, of parallelepiped shape, comprises a water tank or lower collector b and an upper water and steam collector ±, both located in the axis of the boiler.
The collectors are joined by bundles of tubes and steam generators, which line the walls of the boiler, as can be seen in particular in figure 2.
The hearth space located inside these generator tubes is supplied for example by means of the burner. ±.
According to the invention, the rows of steam generator tubes arranged along the walls have, over all or part of their length, fins f, arranged as seen in Figures 2 and 3, and which more precisely satisfy the provision which was the subject of the patent application in the names of the Applicant and of the Compagnie de Surchauffeurs filed in Belgium on March 28, 1947 under No. 366.834 for II AILETTES POUR ELE -

KENT OF HEAT EOEANGER ".
According to this arrangement, each tube has two rectilinear fins, arranged 180 from each other, and in a direction tangential or approximately tangential to the section of the tube, which is arranged so that the external fluid, in this case the gas from the fireplace,

quent the fins at a certain angle as seen in fig. 2 and 3.
With this arrangement, the gases from the hearth escaping in the direction of the arrows A (fig. 2) pass between the bundles of generator tubes e, and the current of ... gases A undergoes alternately in its sinuous path between the fins f of the successive e tubes, throttling passes followed by expansion passes. The gases then escape from the boiler through the discharge ports, at the entrance of which shutters, possibly adjustable, can be provided, h.
It goes without saying that modifications could be made, without necessarily departing from the scope of this invention.
CLAIMS
1) Boiler in which the generator tubes envelop the space forming the hearth, the walls of which they line and whose main feature is that fins are provided on all or part of these generator tubes so that the gases escaping from the hearth towards the discharge orifice, pass between said generator tubes and lick them so as to ensure the best heat exchange.
