Abstract

The heat recuperator consists of three interconnected tube bundles. It has a horizontal coil (1) over the hearth, a vertical ceil (4,5) at the back and an inclined coil (6,7) extending upwards and forwards as far as the centreline (8) of the fireplace. Additionally, the vertical and inclined coils have a V formation in plan to form a wrap around arrangement. The whole assembly is mounted on a frame (13,14) and is self-supporting. A water jacket (10) is mounted over the back of the inclined coil and connected into the water circuit at the bottom (11) and the top (12). Central heating water flows through the coils from A to B. The water is heated by conduction in the horizontal coil and by convection and radiation in the other coils.
