M E M O I R E D E S C R I P T I F déposé à l'appui d'une demande de

M E M O I R E D E S C R I P T I F filed in support of a request for
Patent of Invention Hubért PARVAIS "Device for dispensing liquid under pressure, in particular for flushing toilets".
The present invention relates to an apparatus for d.istri.- scavenger: of liquid under pressure, 'in particular for flushing water, comprising a conduit for supplying the liquid, separated by a closure member, of a pipe connected to a receiving device,
In order to obtain a reliable and convenient operating apparatus according to the present invention, the closure member has a face on which the pressure of the liquid from the supply line acts constantly to tend to cause the opening of this closure member, the latter being maintained in its closed position by a retaining member placed under the control of the operator.
In an advantageous embodiment of the object of the invention, in which the apparatus comprises .a reservoir connected to the. the aforesaid supply pipe, the closure member has a face on which the pressure of the liquid in the reservoir acts constantly to tend to cause an opening of this closure member. '
According to another particular embodiment of the object of the invention, the closure element comprises a seat for a valve the stroke of which is limited and substantially less than that of this element, this valve normally being applied to its seat by a restoring force and then blocking the passage of the liquid towards the receiving device.
. Other details and features of the object of the invention will emerge from the description of the drawings appended hereto and which represent, by way of non-limiting example, various embodiments of the object of the invention. 'invention.
Figures 1 to 6 are elevational and partially sectioned views of various particular embodiments of the apparatus according to the invention.
Figure 7 is a side view and partially in section of another embodiment *
Figure 8 is a detail view of Figures 1, 2 and 3.
In the various figures, the same reference notations designate identical elements.
The flushing device shown in FIG. 1 comprises: a tank 1 connected to a water supply line 2 and separated by a closure member of a line 3 connected to a device -receiver constituted, in this case, -by a WC vessel and not shown. The closure member comprises a

piston 4 into which is screwed a part 5. It is therefore possible to move the latter relative to the piston 4 to take up any play due, for example, to wear. A screw 6 allows it to be wedged in a determined position.
The pressure of the water in the reservoir and that of the supply pipe 2 ', acting constantly on the upper face 7' of the piston 4, tend to lower the latter and therefore to open the passage to the pipe 3.
An eccentric 8 serves as a retaining member for the workpiece.5 when it is in the position shown in FIG. 1. On the shaft 9 of the eccentric 8 is fixed an operating handle
10 shown in Figure 8 which is a side view of part of the apparatus of Figure 1. A torsion spring 11 mounted concentrically to the shaft 9 tends to constantly return the eccentric 8 in the position shown in FIG. 1. The power of this spring is such that the piston automatically returns to its closed position as soon as the reservoir 1 is almost completely emptied.
To seal the piston 4, there is provided a washer 12.en rubber or a similar material. This washer is applied to a rim 13 of the device and to the face 7 by the pressure of the water from the pipe 2 and from the reservoir, which promotes sealing.
The operation of the apparatus is as follows: the operator turns the handle 10, which moves the eccentric 8 away from the position of FIG. 1 and allows the piston 4 (to lower it.
The movement of the latter is immediately accentuated by the pressure of the water. The tank empties through the opening
14 and when it is almost completely empty, the piston 4 automatically closes the opening 14. The reservoir can therefore be filled again. You can replace piston 4 with a ball
15 (Figure 2) provided that a sealing element 16 of suitable shape is provided.
One can also use the system shown in Figure 3. The closure member comprises a cylinder 17 in which is provided a seat 18 -for a valve 19 whose stroke is very limited thanks to nuts 20 mounted on a rod. 21 which controls this valve and which can come into contact with a washer 22, the valve is normally applied to its seat by pressure.
water from the tank and the supply line. 2. When the eccentric releases the part 5, the cylinder descends, driving the valve until the moment when the nuts 20 come up against the washer 22, At this moment, the valve remains stationary and water can pass, through the opening pe
In FIG. 4, the cylinder 17 comprises a rim 24 bearing on a sealing element 25 of suitable shape which is compressed during the descent of the cylinder and therefore contributes, by its elasticity, to bringing the cylinder 17 back and the valve
19 in their closed position.
The retaining member is here a kind of cam 27 which can be pivoted around a shaft 28 by means of a control lever 29, against a tension spring 30 and which maintains a shaft 26 integral with the cylinder 17.
In the apparatus shown in FIG. 5, the cylinder 17 is formed of two parts 31 and 32 nested one inside the other and retaining between them a sealing element 33 which is drawn together with the parts 31 and 32. The valve seat is provided for in part 32.
A compression spring 34 mounted between a stop 35 integral with the part 31 and a fixed stop 36 brings
