     Chacun des pauneaux de radiateur 1 et 2 est constitué par aes tôles @étalliques parallèles 6 maintenues écartées l'une de l'autre sur une faible distance par des entretoises 5. Les entretoises 5 peuvent être constituées' par des anneaux reliasaux tôles 6 par des rivets 9 ou par des points de soudure. Les bords extérieurs desdites tôles sont recourbés les uns vers les autre:; et sont soudés entra eux, d'une manière étanche, comme .indiqué en 7 ce qui donne au bords des tôles 6 une forme de biseau.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

  "Improvements to heating systems for automobiles.
The invention relates to heating installations for motor vehicles in which one or more radiators are established in the circuit of the engine coolant.

   Its aim, above all, is to achieve a heating installation of this type which has the combined advantages obtained with radiators having a compact form and not taking up much space with large radiant surfaces for heat and high calorific efficiency. This is obtained, in accordance with the invention, by constituting the radiators in the form of thin, hollow panels, suitable for radiating heat and formed using metal sheets, said panels being such that they are suitable for forming. the floor or parts of the floor of the vehicle or to + cover said floor, at least in part, by being cut so as to be able to adapt and form the surface of the floor

 to replace or cover.

   The accompanying drawings show, by way of example, one embodiment of the invention.

   Fig. 1 shows, in plan, a motor vehicle comprising radiators constituting a covering of part of the floor.

   Figs. 2 and show respectively and on a larger scale, radiator panels to be established at the front and at the rear of the vehicle.

   Fig. 4 shows a detail in section.

   Fig. 5 shows, in cross section and on a large scale, a radiator panel.

   In the installation shown, two radiator panels 1 are used which are intended to be established at the front of the vehicle to cover the part of the floor which is in front of the driver's seat. Likewise, two radiator rings 2 are used, reserved for the rear of the vehicle and intended to be placed in front; rear seat: These four radiator panels are connected in series and established in the engine cooling circuit using tubes 3.

   Said rear panels 2 are established on either side of the plate 10 which protects the gimbal and are connected together by means of a rubber tube 4 established across said protective plate 10 by being connected to fittings 8 , of short length, established near the rear corners dosed s panels.

     Each of the radiator panels 1 and 2 is formed by parallel metal sheets 6 held apart a short distance from each other by spacers 5. The spacers 5 may be constituted by rings connecting the sheets 6 by rivets 9 or by welding points. The outer edges of said sheets are curved towards each other :; and are welded together, in a sealed manner, as .indicated in 7 which gives the edges of the sheets 6 a bevel shape.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

   The inlet and outlet ducts 3 of each radiator panel are connected to the opposite corners of said panel.

  The ends of these conduits are split longitudinally and engaged on the edges of the panel so as to establish a -communication with the interior of the latter by orifices or perforations made in said edges and which are covered by the split end. conduits. These are attached to the panel by welding or the like.

   Instead of using the radiator panels as a covering or covering a part of the floor, as shown in the drawing, said panels can be constructed so that they themselves form the floor or at least. - part of it. According to another way of real! Based on the invention, the radiator panels can be housed in recesses made in the floor so that the upper faces of said panels are in the same plane as that of the floor.
