LIT PLIANT La. présente invention est relative à un lit pliant combiné de manière à pouvoir se monter et se démonter aisément ,et être amené sous un volume réduit,tout en étant d'un poids relativement faible. Ce lit pliant est par suite d'une très grande utilité dans les hôpitaux, casernements,postes de police,etc. Sa construction uniquement métallique )tout en assurant la solidité de ce lit,en facilite également l'entretien.
Suivant l'invention,le sommier du lit est formé de trois parties, dont les parties- extrêmes sont mobiles et peuvent être respectivement rabattues sur la partie médiane, qui est supportée par des pieds rabattables sous cette dernière. L'une au moins des parties extrêmes mobiles peut recevoir une inclinaison variable, par exemple pour supporter la tête de l'usa- ger.
Le lit pliant a insi constitué est rendu rigide par des liaisons établies entre ses diverses parties et ses pieds.D' autre part chaque partie du sommier est pourvue d'un treillis métallique distinct réuni au treillis métallique de la partie voisine par des ressorts,qui assurent à l'ensemble une élasti- cité ,et par suite un confort,bien supérieur à celui que donnent les liants pliants actuellement en usage.

Le dessin annexé à ce mémoire montre, uniquement à titre d' exemple, une forme d'exécution du lit pliant conforme à l'inven- tion. Dans ce dessin :

Le lit ou plus proprement dit le sommier est divisé en trois parties A.B.C., les parties extrêmes A et 0 pouvant,grâce aux charnières I, être rabattues sur la partie médiane B de plus grande longueur. Les longerons du sommier sont formés de fers é.querres 2a,2b et 2c, dont les dimensions sont judicieusement choisies de manière à assurer une robustesse suffisante tout en réduisant le poids le plus possible.
Les extrémités de ces longerons dans les parties extrêmes A et C sont réunies par une traverse 3a et 3c de même profil. A chacune des extrémités de la partie médiane B du sommier est monté à pivot sur les longerons 2b un cadre 5 en fers équerres formant les pieds du lit;ces cadres sont également renforcés chacun par une traverse 6, comme le montre Fig.3.
A l'intérieur de chacun des cadres A, B et C, est fixé un treillis métallique 7 relié par des ressorts à boudin 8 d'une part aux longerons 2a,2b et 2c et d'autre part au treillis voisin et aux traverses respectives 3a et 3c. On réalise de la sorte une surface portante continue élastique sur laquelle il suffira de jeter une paillasse ou une simple couverture pour constituer un lit suffisamment confortable.
Pour assurer la stabilité du lit monté et en même temps maintenir en position les cadres ou pieds 5, sur les longerons 2a, 2b et 2c sont montées à pivot des tringles 9,dont l'extrémité libre est fixée au cadre-support correspondant au moyen d'écrous papillons 10, ou d'organes de fixation analogues. Comme la partie A du sommier est destinée à recevoir la tête du dormeur,les tringles 9 qui s'y rapportent sont amovibles et peuvent être fixées à la hauteur de l'un ou l'autre des trous II,percés dans les longerons

2a;.oette fixation sera assurée également par des écrous papillons I2,par exemple. On pourra de la sorte varier l'inclinaison de la partie A, à volonté. On pourra éventuellement remplacer le! trous II par une rainure longitudinale ménagée dans les longerons 2a.
Le lit étant ainsi monté comme il est représenté en Fig.I et 2, il suffira pour le démonter de desserrer les écrous papillons 10 et de faire basculer les parties A et 0 au-dessus de la partie médiane B pour les rabattre sur celle-ci. On ramènera de même les pieds 5 sous la partie B,comme le montre la Fig.4.
Pour empècher les parties du sommier de s'ouvrir,on les maintient assemblées tout simplement au moyen d'une lanière 13, ou à l'aide d'un dispositif d'accrochage approprié.
Il est bien entendu que l'on ne sortirait pas du domaine de l'invention en apportant au lit pliant des modifications constructives connues.

I. Lit pliant comportant des éléments rabattables,carac- térisé en ce que le sommier comprend des parties extrêmes mo- ' biles qui peuvent être rabattues sur la partie médiane,laquelle est supportée par des pieds rabattables sous cette dernière.

According to the invention, the base of the bed is formed of three parts, the end parts of which are movable and can be respectively folded over the median part, which is supported by folding feet under the latter. The bed or more properly speaking the box spring is divided into three parts A.B.C., the end parts A and 0 being able, thanks to the hinges I, to be folded down on the median part B of greater length. The beams of the bed base are formed by brackets 2a, 2b and 2c, the dimensions of which are judiciously chosen so as to ensure sufficient strength while reducing the weight as much as possible.
The ends of these side members in the end parts A and C are joined by a cross member 3a and 3c of the same profile. At each of the ends of the median part B of the bed base is pivotally mounted on the side members 2b a frame 5 of square irons forming the feet of the bed; these frames are also each reinforced by a cross member 6, as shown in Fig.3.
Inside each of the frames A, B and C, is fixed a metal mesh 7 connected by coil springs 8 on the one hand to the side members 2a, 2b and 2c and on the other hand to the neighboring mesh and to the respective cross members. 3a and 3c. In this way, an elastic continuous bearing surface is produced on which it will suffice to throw a straw mattress or a simple blanket to constitute a sufficiently comfortable bed.
To ensure the stability of the assembled bed and at the same time keep the frames or feet 5 in position, on the side members 2a, 2b and 2c are pivotally mounted rods 9, the free end of which is fixed to the corresponding support frame by means wing nuts 10, or similar fasteners. To prevent the parts of the bed base from opening, they are kept assembled quite simply by means of a strap 13, or by means of a suitable fastening device.
It is understood that one would not depart from the field of the invention by making known constructive modifications to the folding bed.

I. Folding bed with folding elements, characterized in that the base comprises movable end parts which can be folded down on the middle part, which is supported by folding legs below the latter.
