Fig. 2 montre un détail des baleines extensibles,
Fig. 3 montre le coulant du parapluie, et
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

REVENDICATIONS.

Telescopic umbrella
The invention relates to a pocket umbrella, the ribs and the handle of which can telescopically extend in a known manner.
The essential improvement which the construction according to the invention brings to the known embodiments consists in that, in order to keep the ribs elongated, no special clamping device is required, but on the contrary, once sinking unlocked, the ribs automatically move outward and unfold and the struts - thus lying down are retained in extension.

According to the invention, this result is achieved by mounting on the handle of the umbrella a compression spring which, when the slide is released, moves the forks outwards by means of auxiliary forks, preferably by means of an auxiliary flow.
The appended drawing represents examples of execution of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an overview of the umbrella frame,
Fig. 2 shows a detail of the stretch ribs,
Fig. 3 shows the flow of the umbrella, and
Fig. 4 indicates another arrangement of the compression spring and the auxiliary forks.
The upper section 1 of the umbrella handle can be extended telescopically out of the lower section 2.
The snap spring 6 keeps the umbrella handle extended; 4 and 5 are stop springs. These springs 4 and 5 adapted on the handle block the slide respectively in the highest position and in the lowest position.
3 is the handle, 23 is the mouthpiece, and 22 is the umbrella nut.
On the nut are articulated in a known manner the extensible ribs 7. When the umbrella is shortened, the extensible section 8 of the rib fits into the hollow of the U-shaped profile of the rib 7, the arrangement being chosen so that the The end of the rib section 8 carries the articulation 10 for the fork 9.
The other end of the fork 9 is articulated on the crown 11 of the slide 12. On the slide 12 can slide axially an auxiliary deployment slide 14 which
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
is urged from top to bottom by the compression spring 15. The sleeve of the slide is flared at the top so as to constitute a seat 16 for the compression spring 15.
The auxiliary runner 14 is articulated at 21 to the forks 9 by means of small auxiliary forks 13, the length of which preferably does not exceed about one sixth to one quarter of the length of the main forks.
When the slide 12 is released, the compression spring 15 and the auxiliary slide 14 push back outside, through the auxiliary forks 13, the forks 9, which greatly facilitates the opening of the umbrella.
Since, by means of the articulations 10 interconnecting the sections 7 and 8 of the ribs, the forks 9 are connected to the extensible sections 8, these also extend out of the section 7 when the opening is opened. umbrella and are continuously urged outwards, so that it is unnecessary to provide a special stop device to retain the sections 8 relative to the sections 7 of the ribs.
To open the umbrella, it suffices to press on the lower click spring 5, and the slide then rises, dragging the ribs.
The umbrella cover is given its final tension by raising the slide 12 until the snap-lock spring 4 engages. Subsequent raising of the slide is limited, since then the upper flare 16 of the sleeve of the umbrella. flowing butts against the nut 22 of the umbrella; in this way it also becomes unnecessary to provide a special stop button for this purpose.

Fig. 4 shows another embodiment of the invention, where the compression spring 17 pushes back from top to bottom the auxiliary slide 24 sliding on the main slide 12.
The auxiliary forks 19 are articulated by one end on the auxiliary slide 24 and by the other end, at 20, on the forks 9. On the slide 12 is fixed the ring 18, shaped like a bell to receive the compression spring 17, to which are articulated the lower ends of the forks 9.
Under the action of the compression spring 17, the auxiliary slide 24 sliding on the main slide 12 is pushed from top to bottom and pulls outwards, by means of the auxiliary forks 19, the main forks 9. It is therefore it is unnecessary, as in the previous example, to provide a special stop device for the stretchable whale sections 8, and the easy opening of the umbrella is ensured.
