<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

"DEVICES FOR SUPPORTING, GUIDING AND IMPOSING MOVEMENT ON SHAKERS, SCREENS, STRAW PICKERS ETC .. OF BEATER"
The present patent relates to devices limited essentially to the use of straight cams or ramps, curvilinear or any other suitable profile, fixed or mobile, intended to be applied to threshers or tarares to support and guide their screens. , shakers or straw pullers and can modify their shaking and / or translational properties of the treated products.
The envisaged application consists in the use of one or more cams or ramps of suitable shape and arranged in such a way that, while supporting and guiding the shaker possibly pulling straw or sieve, they particularly impress on the part or the cam is active, a
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
movement - (function of the movement of the shaker or of the straw wagon or of the screen controlled by an appropriate device such as crank pin, crankshaft, eccentric, connecting rod, etc.) - which has the effect according to the shape or position of the or cams or ramps to increase or decrease the violence of the shaking and / or the translation speed of the products to be shaken or screened.
It should be noted that it is possible to use in combination or in part only the properties listed above of the cam or the ramp.
In different variant embodiments, the cam may be -olacé on the moving part and move on a fixed point, or be pla.cée at a fixed part and be traversed by a moving point.
In its simplest embodiment, the hull will be formed by a straight line of appropriate direction.
The fixed point may, to avoid friction, be replaced by a round shaped roller or a cam articulated on a pivot.
It is also possible to use two cams, fixed or mobile.
The carne or the fixed point or the roller can be manufactured so as to serve as a guide for the shaker (screen or straw puller), for example be provided with a groove.
The cam may even be constructed so as to be able to vary its inclination even while the machine is running.
In order to bring out the above description more clearly, the appended drawings represent schematically and simply by way of explanation different embodiments of application of cones or ramps in accordance with the subject of the invention.
For this purpose:
Fig. I shows a shaker controlled at one of its ends by a crankpin.
Fig. 2, a shaker placed next to another shaker, the control of the latter being in relation to the latter, possibly in relation to. others, shifted by a number

of degrees.
Fig. 3 the front view of a four-part shaker.
Fig. 4 The front view of a one-piece shaker.
Fig. 5 the view of a shaker whose axis of rotation of the control crankshaft rotates in the direction of the arrow, that is to say opposite to that of fig.I and 2.
FIG. 6, the view of a screen controlled by a connecting rod and eccentric and supported at its opposite ends by cams resting on rollers.
Fig. 7 a series of variant embodiments of straight cams resting on fixed rollers or movable rollers resting on fixed cams.
Fig. 8 of the application views of curved profile cams, fixed or movable in rectilinear or rotary motion.
Fig. 9 a-oplication views of rectilinear and curved cams moving on a support.
Fig.IO a view of the fixed and movable cams in contact along their curved profile.
Fig. 11 views of the variable tilt cam.
Figs. 12, 13, 14 of the application views of straight or curvilinear cams to an eccentric-controlled shaker, the inclinations of said cams being in the same direction or in opposition.
Referring in particular to FIG. I, A represents a shaker controlled from side B by a crank pin 21 of which I is the axis of rotation in the direction of the arrow.
Under the end part E of the shaker A, is arranged a rectilinear cam 2 coming into contact with the roller 4, 3 of which is the pivot or the axis of rotation. This roller 4 which is held between two stops or stops, not shown, but which it is easy to imagine, is in the present example provided with a groove and thus serves as a guide for the cam 2 and therefore for the shaker A and conversely, this groove can keep the roller in the appropriate place.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
Depending on whether the cam 2 will be more or less profiled and more or less distant from the end E of the shaker A and consequently more or less close to the crankpin 21, the movement of the end E of the shaker A will be more or less accentuated and the shaking of the translated product by the shaker, more or less energetic.
It will be the same with regard to the speed of translation of the products.
Especially in the case of several shakers
A, A1 A2 A3, placed side by side see fig. 3 and controlled by a crankshaft I with several elbows, the combination of the movements of the ends such as E in fig. I, allows the products to be retained as much as possible. time assuring them, however, a shook; the more and more energetic.
In fig. 2 we have shown a shaker A1, placed next to a shaker A2 whose movement of the end El is in the opposite direction to the movement of the end% of the neighboring shaker A2, the ends B1 and E2 being out of action at this time.
In fig. 4 shows the front view of a shaker A in one piece resting by the carnes 2 on the rollers
4.
In fig.5 there is shown an A4 shaker controlled at its end B4 by a crankshaft 1 rotating in the direction of the arrow and the cam 2 disposed at its end E4 in the opposite direction to the arrangement adopted in FIG. I. This arrangement ensures vigorous shaking over the entire length of shaker A4 and accelerates or delays the translation of the products depending on the shape or position of the cam 2.
In the. fig. 6 we have shown an A5 screen ordered in
18 by a connecting rod and eccentric mechanism 17 and supported at its ends by cams 2 and rollers 4 arranged on pivots 3.
@
In Figs. 7 to 14, A will represent either a shaker, screen, straw puller or the like.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
Fig. 7 shows a series of applications of cams 2 oriented in the iverse direction based on rollers 4 mounted on pivots 3 and fixed cams 6 on which the movable roller ± disposed on a support 8 secured to the shaker, grid or the like moves.
In fig. 8 is shown in the first diagram, a movable cam 2 with a curvilinear profile, in the second a fixed cam 6 with a curvilinear profile on which rests the movable roller 5 held by the support 8. In the third figure, the cam 7 comprises a profile curvilinear engaged with the rail 23 and is animated by an angular movement on the axis 22, finally in the fourth diagram the hull 7 is held by a support 8 fixed to the mobile part and its curvilinear profile rests on the fixed rail 9.
In fig. 9 different cams 2 have been shown moving on fixed points 10.
Fig.IO shows a movable cam 11 of curvilinear profile in contact with a fixed cam 12 also of curvilinear profile.
In fig. II there is shown in the first diagram a cam 13 in contact with the fixed roller 4 articulated at one end at 14 to the mobile part A, while its other end carries a slide 15 allowing it to be fixed at 16 to the desired inclination. In the second diagram, the cam 13 is fixed and adjustable in angular position according to the position of its slide 15 relative to the fixing point 16.
Fig.12 shows a screen A moved at 19 by the connecting rod 20 and comprising rectilinear carnes 3. resting on fixed rollers 4 and whose inclinations are in the opposite direction to one another.
Fig. 13 is a variant of fig. 12 in which the carnes 2 are curved and directed in the same direction, while in fig. 14 of the last ones, still of curved profile, are directed in the opposite direction to each other.
