<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

MACHINE FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF FOOD PASTA
The present invention relates to a machine for 'the manufacture of pasta of the type with laminuurs kneading rollers, and cutting-profiling rollers,
In this machine, the flour coarsely mixed with the water, is kneaded by the smooth cylinders and the resulting dough is rolled into a ribbon form which passes between the cutting cylinders, where it takes the form of small ribbons, of larger widths. or smaller (noodles, vermi-

The new machine is characterized by its layout provisions which ensure flawless operation.
The main improvements refer to:
a) the rolling mill train, the gears of which are arranged in such a way as to allow a very large variation in distance, without in any way varying the meshing conditions.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
b) the shape and arrangement of the frame, shaped so that it can be fixed on a table, and that the dough produced can be poured onto a plate, or other receptacle placed on the same table.
With this arrangement while one hand turns the crank, the other can feed, direct the dough etc.
In known machines which are fixed to the edge of the table, while one of the hands turns the crank, the other must support the plate. c) the shape of the upper part of the frame which is a smooth plane parallel to that which supports the machine; this plane is cut by grooves which allow the passage of the dough, but which does not prevent the sheet of dough from moving freely on the plane.
This machine, while being simple and economical, of construction (which is required by its destination for household purposes) is based on principles of rational arrangement, so that the operation is very safe.
The following description is drawn up with reference to the appended drawings which show a non-limiting example of construction thereof.
Fig. 1-2-3 show the machine in three external views.
Fig.4-is a longitudinal ccupe along the line IV-IV of figs, l and 3.
Fig.5 is a diagram of the gear train which connects the rollers = dres rollers.
Fig.6 is a horizontal section along the line VI-VI of Fig.2.
The frame of the machine comprises a foot 1, provided with four sealing holes, intended to fix the machine on the table to the mayen of screws (final fixing) or of two vices (movable fixing). On the foot 1 is fixed an upper part 1, which is the real frame of the machine. This part 1 is provided with a large hopper 1 'to feed the pulverizer-laminator rolls, and two (or more) small trés =

1 "crumbs to feed the profiling cylinders.
The kneading rolls 3 and 4, arranged under the hopper 1 'are connected by gears 5,6,7.8. The cylinder 3 and the gears 5.6,7, are carried by the frame.
The shaft 7 'of the pinion 7 is drilled and mortised to receive the control crank 2. This same shaft serves as a pivot for an oscillating support 10, in the form of a box, which carries the cylinder 4 and its pinion 8. A screw 11, with 11 'control handle, engaged by its 11 "ball end, with the box 10 and allows it to oscillate around the shaft 7', with the cylinder 4. it allows to vary the distance of the cylinders without modifying the meshing conditions of the pinions.
We can thereby have any variations in the thickness of the dough sheet, or the gradual rolling of cell e-latter.
One of the cylinders, for example 3, is provided with edges 3 'of large diameter between which the cylinder 4 fits.
This arrangement prevents the leakage of the paste between the frame and the cylinders.
The upper part 1 of the frame carries at the front, two lanyards = rons 15 which support the profiling cylinders, arranged by cut 12 ', 12 ".......
The profiling rolls are fitted with comb-shaped scrapers, 13. which provide regular stain removal of the profiled paste without damage or friction.
All the profiling cylinders are secured by a series of pinions 14. One of the cylinder journals is pierced by a mortised hole 19, similar to the hole 9 of the shaft 7 ', and having the same purpose of receiving the control crank.
