<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

"Toy enhancement" EMIGRETT91.
In all the constructions known to date of the old toy "EMIGRETTE" called today "YOYO" the interior dimensions of the two discs in their part, between which the string is wound, always present the surfaces made expressly flat and parallel. between them, up to the edge of the central hole receiving the axis of the toy.
In other words, such a flat surface is always made normal to the axis of rotation, and the central hole made in the direction of the latter, forms with said surface a right angle and has no cavity at its edge; - that is to say, this hole has in the plane of this surface its smallest diameter in the event that it has several.
The particularity of the present invention consists in that one or more suitable cavities, grooves, notches, etc. * are made on said surfaces. These cavities or notches may in particular cases be so large that said surfaces may become non-flat and non-parallel and will, for example, have an oonic, spherical, or other shape.
Such a construction in different cases gives different advantages. For example, grooves can be made for the purpose of increasing the friction of the twine on the discs where the 1+ construction requires.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
In addition, the cavities or non-parallelisms of the surfaces, causing a variable distance between the said sides of the two discs, can allow the twine, by winding itself, to be inserted between the disc and itself and therefore, in the event that this string is freely attached to the toy, to give the player the ability to print a more energetic rotational movement when it is unwound. Said grooves, or oavities, or non-parallelisms can also, for example, be made for the purpose, without having changed the distances between the discs, to avoid or cause the pinching of a moving part, of 'a knot, or any other size on the string, which may be inside the toy depending on the particularity of its construction.
Some variants of the practical embodiment of the invention are shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing. Figure I shows the interior of the toy in the plane normal to the axis of rotation with a disc removed. Figure I Bis shows the axilar section of the toy. In the body of each of the discs d, d 'near the mesh m of the string f are made the circular grooves r, r'.
On the one hand, these grooves cancel out the possibility of pinching the knot n between the discs d, d ', thus guaranteeing the free rotation of the stitch m and on the other hand, they allow the twine by winding ( as seen on the lower part of the figure to be inserted between the discs and itself and thus be united for a few moments with the toy, whereby it transmits to the latter the more energetic movement of rotation. - that, that caused by the only friction of the string on the flat sides of the discs In addition, one or more grooves can be made in each of the discs, for example, circular and concentric to the first.
Figures 2 and 3 show, by way of example, the case where the cavities are made at the very edge of the central hole to receive
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
the prominence ± of the axis a (figure 2), where the ends of a special piece 8- (fig. 3), intended to regulate the distance between the discs d '. It is understood that these cavities, depending on the construction of the toy, can be made in a single disc only. In Figure 4, we see a part of another invention, forming the subject of another patent application filed simultaneously with the present, and which consists in that, in order to increase, in certain cases, the friction on the string, a special piece made of suitable material, for example rubber, etc., is introduced inside the toy.
Now, FIG. 4 represents the case where, according to the particular construction feature, said special piece r, washer type or other, is placed in the appropriate oavité of the disc d.
In Figures 5,6,7 and 8, we see examples where. the discs d, d ', having any external shape and being attached to the axis a in a suitable way, have the oavities so large that they occupy all their internal surfaces m, n, p (fig. 5 ) e @, m, p (fig. 6) by making them not parallel and not normal to the axis of rotation, while keeping the opening of the necessary size.
It is understood that the construction of the center pieces of the toy and the method of attaching the string can be performed in all of the cited examples in different ways.
However, from the examples oités, a great advantage of the invention consists in that, in the case of a flat and parallel surface, by making in it the necessary cavities according to the interior improvements of the toy, there is no need to increase the distance between these surfaces, as is practiced in all constructions so far. It can be reduced to a minimum, that is to say, to make this distance almost equal to the diameter of the string, which is very important for the accuracy of rotation of the toy.

It will be understood that the invention is not strictly limited to the examples described and shown, but that it can vary in shapes, sizes, proportions and materials according to the requirements of the practice.
