<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Fig. 1 est une vue perspective d'un assemblage par clavette coni- que d'éléments d'un couloir oscillant, vu de dessous ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

IMPROVEMENTS TO THE ASSEMBLIES OF OSCILLATING CORRIDORS
The invention relates to oscillating corridors, and relates in particular to the assembly together of sections or elements of these corridors.
Assemblies of this kind are currently generally made with the aid of bolts which, among other drawbacks, suffer from the unavoidable loosening of the bolts after a period of service, with the consequences not only of wear and tear. premature out of service of the parts, but still an intense noise and clearly prejudicial to the execution and the output of the work on the site.
The main object of the invention is to remedy these drawbacks.
To this end, it consists, in principle, in ensuring the assembly of the sections or elements of said corridors using one or more keys, and in particular conical keys, engaged in corresponding housings carried by the sections or elements to be assembled.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, all the housings receiving the assembly keys are established with a section
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
straight line of uniform passage, and in these housings are engaged two complementary conical keys, the whole of which has, in this case, parallel edges.
To facilitate assembly, one or each of the sections or elements to be assembled may include stops cooperating with the housings of the keys and ensuring the exact coincidence of these housings, as well as the correct relative position of the sections or corridor elements.
Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge from the more detailed description which follows with reference to the appended drawing in which:
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a conical key assembly of elements of an oscillating corridor, seen from below;
Fig. 2 is a similar view of an assembly obtained using complementary conical keys.
In fig. 1, 1 and 2 denote sections or runner elements to be assembled by their adjacent ends, which for this purpose are made to include fittings 3 and 4 riveted or otherwise permanently attached to the sections or elements, 1 and 2. Each of these fittings comprises one or more extensions extending beyond the end of the corresponding section or element, and arranged over the width of the corridor so that the extension of one of the sections or elements is placed alongside of one, or between two extensions of the joint section or element.
In the example illustrated, the fitting 3 of the section or element 1 comprises an extension 5, inserted between two extensions 6 and 7 of the fitting 4 of the section or element 2, preferably without unnecessary space between them.
Each of the extensions 5, 6 and 7 is bent in the form of a hook at its outer end, as in 8, 9 and 10, so that the whole constitutes a housing for a key with converging sides, or conical key 11 , on the whole substantially normal to the longitudinal axis of the corridor.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Thus, the faces 9a and 10 of the hooks 9 and 10 may be perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the corresponding runner section or element, while the face 8a of the hook 8 will exhibit a certain inclination on the longitudinal axis of the section or corresponding corridor element, or vice versa, or else, each of the faces 8a, 9a and 10a will be inclined on the longitudinal axis of its section or corridor element, the faces 9a. and 10a being of course always arranged in the extension of one another.
The sections or elements 1 and 2 being placed end to end, if the key 11 is engaged between the hooks 8, 9 and 10, by forcing it somewhat into its housing, a very secure assembly is obtained in a simple manner. , having no tendency to loosen or dislocate.
In the example illustrated in the drawing, the sections or elements 1 and 2 are placed end to end; they could also be nested one inside the other (as shown in fig. 2). and means are then provided to limit their mutual longitudinal engagement. These means can be formed on the same sections or element 1 and 2, but with advantage they are preferably provided by the end faces of the fittings 3 and 4, between or on either side of the extensions 5. , 6 and 7.
In the arrangement of fig 2, the extensions 5, 6 and 7 are shaped in the form of closed hooks, all having the same cross section in extent and conformation, and in the housings thus formed are engaged two complementary conical keys 12 and 13, pre - feeling, together, edges 12a. and 13a parallel to each other and to the faces 8a, 9a and 10a, each of which is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the corresponding section or corridor element.
The mutual engagement of the sections or elements 1 and 2 is limited by stops, formed by the fittings 3 and 4 or on at least one of the latter, and in this case cooperating with the extension (s) or hooks of the 'other fitting'. In the example illustrated, a stop 14 has been placed on the fitting 4 which cooperates with the extension 5, and in particular the closed hook formed by this extension to limit.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
end the engagement of the sections or elements 1 and 2 and obtain the exact coincidence of the housings intended to receive the keys 12 and 13.
Although the keys, such as 11, and 12 and 13., have no tendency to loosen or to leave their housing, security means can be provided to keep the key (s) in the tightening position. .
These means can be constituted by any suitable members, in particular by pins or pins (not shown) engaged in one or more perforations 15 of the end of the keys.
As goes without saying, and as has moreover already been suggested, it is understood that the invention is not limited to the details of the embodiments described and illustrated, but also encompasses modifications and the like.
