Brevet d'invention. Cendrier pour fumeurs.
L'invention se rapporte à un cendrier dont le fond mobile donne accès à un réservoir formant socle et dans lequel le bout de cigarette ou analogue en combustion tombe par effacement momentané du fond mobile pour s'éteindre par étouffement.
Selon l'invention l'ouverture du fond du cendrier est pourvue d'une plaque obturatrice mobile dans son propre plan et normalement maintenue sous l'ouverture du fond au contact d'une butée limitant la course qu'il effectue sous l'action d'un ressort agissant sur un bras à l'extrémité duquel ce fond est fixé, ledit bras étant calé transversalement sur un axe de pivotement saillant dans le bord du cendrier au dessus duquel il est pourvu d'un bouton de manoeuvre. Outre la butée limitant la course du fond à éclipse, une pièce fixe solidaire du fond du cendrier ou du réservoir, ou des deux, est disposée de façon que le fond à éclipse s'engage au-dessus d'elle quand 11

est en position d'obturation.
Cette pièce de support peut avantageusement être portée par la butée ou préférablement encore venue d'une seule pièce avec elle, par exemple sous forme de "L" dont une branche forme la butée et l'autre le support. Plusieurs butées, ou supports ou butéee-supports peuvent être prévus.
Le bouton de manoeuvre du fond à éclipse est de préférence et selon l'invention constitué par un repose-cigarette ou cigare et quand le cendrier comporte plusieurs repose-cigarette ou cigare, de préférence établi sous la même forme que les autres.
Préférablement, le bord de la cuvette qui constitue le cendrier proprement dit est reolié vers l'extérieur puis prolongé vers le bas pour former le réservoir que surmonte le cendrier, et ce réservoir comporte un fond amovible avant un léger rebord par lequel il s'engage dans ou autour du réservoir et un anneau ou autre dispositif de préhension extérieure, permettant de le déboiter facilement quand ce fond est amené au-dessus en vue d'ouvrir le réservoir pour le vider. Une réalisation avantageuse de l'invention consiste à embolter le fond dans lréservoir dans une partie de clui-ci allant en se rétrécissant,au delà d'une rainure circulaire intérieure que comporte le bord libre de ce réservoir et à le maintenir par un anneau ou une pièce recourbée en anneau engagée dans la rainure.
L'axe du fond à éclipse traverse le rebord du cendrier et celui-ci comporte à cet endroit une surépaisseur formant avec l'épaisseur du bord un coussinet dans lequel pivote l'axe. Cet axe est en outre pivoté dans un support fixé à la paroi intérieure du réservoir ou de la cuvette du cendrier.
De préférence, l'axe est rivé à son bouton de manoeuvre et comporte un filetage à son autre extrémité, le bras transversal portant le fond à éclipse étant enfilé sur l'axe et immobilisé entre deux écrous de sa partie filetée. L'un des écrous vient au contact du support pour empêcher le déplacement de l'axe vers le haut et le bouton de manoeuvre empêche le déplacement

vers le bas. Ce dernier écrou peut être remplacé par un renfle- ment fixe de l'axe.
Le ressort de rappel du fond à éclipse est de préférence un ressort à boudin agissant à la traction entre cet arbre et la paroi du réservoir.
Le dessin ci-annexé représente un exemple d'un mode de réalisation de l'invention.

Le cendrier 1 comporte un rebord 2 s'étendant en 3 pour former un réservoir s'évasant vers le bas et comportant un fond 4 engagé dans le réservoir par un rebord 5 et maintenu dans ce réservoir par un anneau 6 engagé dans la rainure 7.
Le fond à éclipse 8 du cendrier est fixé à l'extrémité du bras 9 qui est enfilé sur l'axe de pivotement 10 et immobi- lisé sur cet axe par deux écrous 11 et 12. Cet axe 10 traverse d'une part un support 13 fixé au réservoir 3 et d'autre part le rebord 2 du cendrier et il porte au delà de ce rebord sur le- quel est fixée la surépaisseur 14 un pose cigarette ou cigare 15 calé sur lui et formant bouton de manoeuvre.
Le fond 8 est maintenu en position de fermeture sous l'ac- tion du ressort 16 fixé à ce bras d'une part et au réservoir 3 d'autre part. Dans cette position, sa course est limitée par au-dessus de la butée 17 qui comprend une partie 17a laquelle s'engage le bord du fond 8.
Il se conçoit que l'invention n'est pas limitée à l'exem- ple représenté mais s'étend au contraire à tous les dispositifs éduivalents.

The invention relates to an ashtray, the movable bottom of which gives access to a reservoir forming a base and in which the burning cigarette end or the like falls by momentary erasure of the movable bottom to be extinguished by suffocation.
According to the invention, the opening of the bottom of the ashtray is provided with a shutter plate movable in its own plane and normally maintained under the opening of the bottom in contact with a stop limiting the stroke that it performs under the action of 'a spring acting on an arm at the end of which this bottom is fixed, said arm being wedged transversely on a pivot axis projecting in the edge of the ashtray above which it is provided with an operating button. This support part can advantageously be carried by the stopper or even preferably come integrally with it, for example in the form of an "L", one branch of which forms the stopper and the other the support. Several stops, or supports or abutment-supports can be provided.
The operating button of the eclipse bottom is preferably and according to the invention constituted by a cigarette or cigar rest and when the ashtray comprises several cigarette or cigar rests, preferably established in the same form as the others.
Preferably, the edge of the bowl which constitutes the ashtray itself is folded outwards and then extended downwards to form the reservoir which the ashtray surmounts, and this reservoir has a removable bottom before a slight rim through which it engages in or around the reservoir and a ring or other external gripping device, allowing it to be easily dislodged when this bottom is brought above in order to open the reservoir for emptying. An advantageous embodiment of the invention consists in embolizing the bottom in the reservoir in a portion of the latter which tapers off, beyond an internal circular groove which the free edge of this reservoir comprises and to hold it by a ring or a curved ring part engaged in the groove.
The axis of the eclipse bottom crosses the rim of the ashtray and the latter has at this location an extra thickness forming with the thickness of the edge a pad in which the axis pivots. This axis is also pivoted in a support fixed to the inner wall of the tank or of the ashtray bowl.
Preferably, the axis is riveted to its operating button and has a thread at its other end, the transverse arm carrying the eclipse bottom being threaded on the axis and immobilized between two nuts of its threaded part. One of the nuts comes into contact with the support to prevent the axis from moving upwards and the operating button prevents movement

down. This last nut can be replaced by a fixed bulge of the axle.
The return spring of the eclipse bottom is preferably a coil spring acting in tension between this shaft and the wall of the tank.
The accompanying drawing represents an example of an embodiment of the invention.

The ashtray 1 comprises a rim 2 extending at 3 to form a reservoir flaring downwards and comprising a bottom 4 engaged in the reservoir by a rim 5 and held in this reservoir by a ring 6 engaged in the groove 7.
The eclipse bottom 8 of the ashtray is fixed to the end of the arm 9 which is threaded onto the pivot pin 10 and immobilized on this pin by two nuts 11 and 12. This pin 10 passes through a support on the one hand. 13 fixed to the tank 3 and on the other hand the rim 2 of the ashtray and it carries beyond this rim on which the extra thickness 14 is fixed a cigarette or cigar holder 15 wedged on it and forming an operating button.
The bottom 8 is held in the closed position under the action of the spring 16 fixed to this arm on the one hand and to the reservoir 3 on the other hand. In this position, its stroke is limited by above the stop 17 which comprises a part 17a which engages the edge of the bottom 8.
It will be understood that the invention is not limited to the example shown but extends on the contrary to all educational devices.
