  "LES BENNES BASCULANTES POUR CAMIONS AUTOMOBILES. "

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  "TIPPERS FOR AUTOMOTIVE TRUCKS."
The present invention applies to tipping trailers for motor trucks and constitutes an improvement to the system patented in Belgium on February 15, 1926, under the N 332158
In this system, in fact, the lifting device was fixed between two pivots, one integral with the false frame, the other integral with the tilting frame, The point of attack of the lifting device to the false frame always remained the same.

   In the present invention, the lifting device is still fixed to the false frame, but no longer by a pivot, but in a rigid manner. The force transmitted by the device

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 lifting to the tilting frame is no longer done at a fixed point, but at points varying with the stroke of the lifting device so that the attack lever arm decreases as the lifting progresses to maintain as much as possible a constant load on this device.

   The lifting device does not directly transmit its force to the tilting frame, but this force is applied through a small roller carriage forming a wedge between the subframe and the tilting frame.

  These rollers are arranged in such a way that two of them form a wedge and the third support to prevent the tumbling of the small carriage. This device eliminates any danger of entrapment which could occur as a result of twisting the same when the truck is on uneven terrain.

   Fig. 1 shows the tipping bucket in its rest position, FIG. 2 shows the tilting body in its tilting position. Fig. 3 gives a view of the wedge-forming carriage and interposed between the head of the lifting device and the inclined planes of the false frame and of the tilting frame. The false frame 1 (fig. I and?) Is provided with a rectilinear inclined plane 2 in the extension of which is rigidly fixed a lifting device 3. The tilting frame carries an inclinéretillgne plane 5 forming an angle with the plane. 2, acute when the bucket is at rest, and obtuse when the bucket is pivoted around its center to bring it into its tilting position.

   Between plane ¯2, and plane 5 is the trolley. rollers 1 the piston head 8 fig 3 of the lifting device 3 simply abuts against the carriage 1 without being connected to it.

   The roller flows on the inclined plane 2 of the false frame. The roller 10 rolls on the inclined plane .5 of the tilting frame. These two rollers are in contact with each other so that all ordinary friction is eliminated and only a rolling friction remains between the wedge carriage and the two surfaces of the plane @

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 EMI3.1
 ihc1iilé. , The roller 11 is siLlpleneL1t a fulcrum to prevent the trolley from tumbling which could be effected by the forces a, sliding on these rollers, which vary in direction as the lift and the descentc progress.
