<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Application filed soLt :; the profit .1.- li. t; onicm-L¯ion Internationale.
In order to clean the line in the washing powder as intensively as possible, which must be done by means of a beater, it is already known to pass pressurized air through the hollow rod of the beater. , In addition, and to avoid a complicated supply of air under pressure, we add - the bell of the beater, directly or to its rod, a device which allows the compression of the outside air, each time newly admitted, d after the movements of the beater.
These known constructions, among which sc also find those in which a bellows is employed to generate the air pressure, however have the disadvantage that, apart from a relatively large complication, they do not work well for the adduction. or compression
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
air.
This drawback is eliminated, according to the present invention, for. a beater having at its lower end an annular bead provided with escape holes and communicating with the upper part of the bell, because, by a specially favorable arrangement of the bellows, disposed at the upper end of the hollow rod, a double compression is obtained, as much of the air trapped by the water in the bell during the first working stroke as for the new air entering the bellows. The bellows valve is, for this purpose, directly coupled to one of the handles or to both handles, so that by pressing the bellows, or the beater, this valve closes automatically and that, when the beater is raised. , it also opens automatically.
In order to increase the action of the compressed air on the laundry, this air is heated in the appliance before its exit. For this purpose, an electrically heated body is interposed between the bell and the bellows of the beater and is surrounded by air flowing to the exhaust openings of the annular bead of the bell.
An embodiment of the object of the invention is shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing.
Fig.l shows the bell beater, in section along the axis.

until the end of this working phase with additional compression, which is kept constant during the downward movement of the plate 10, which additional compression is produced by the difference in the sections of compressed air existing between the rod 7 and the pipes 4.
By this invention, it therefore happens that the air entering the annular bead 2 through the conduits 4 is subjected to a considerable increase in pressure and enters, in powerful jets, through the openings 3 into the laundry and into the laundry. .
After the downward movement of the beater has, according to fig.5, been carried out, the plate 10 is raised by pulling the handles 11, 11 'upwards, the pressure of the spring 17 arranged. between plates 8 and 10 acting in the same direction. The handle 11 ', which pivots and is stopped on its journal 12, rises slightly above the plate 10 and its trim plate 13 releases the opening 14, so that fresh air enters as a result of increasing the volume of the bellows, which closes the valve 6. As soon as the beater is completely above the water, the operating phases described above are repeated.
