<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

@ Automatic machine for dividing the food dough.
A specific subject of the present invention is an automatic dough dividing machine. feed, which comprises a dividing cylinder placed directly on the hopper and moved periodically, so that during the first period the compartment fills while in the second period this compartment empties, while the compartment opposite it and which is brought back under the hopper, receives its load.
In order to be able to determine the quantity, that is to say the weight of the dough pieces, the capacity of the dividing compartments is variable at will and can be operated in that one of the walls of said compartments forming part of a block sliding on a central rib of the cylinder for example, limits this capacity.
Another object of the invention is to be able to detach the dough located in the dividing compartment from the mass contained in the hopper before the rotating movement of the dividing cylinder takes place. To this end, knives are provided which slide between the hopper and the cylinder, which knives are mechanically controlled.
Another object of the invention is to force the dough to descend as soon as possible into the dividing compartment located under the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
hopper and fill this compartment completely. For this purpose, mechanically controlled sectors are provided, one of the sides of which forms part of the walls of the hopper when the sectors are in their initial position, the said side forming a shutter pushing on the dough during its control. 'advancement.
Finally, another object of the invention consists in dusting the walls of the dividing compartments before the introduction of the dough. For this purpose, a sprinkler is provided at the location of the cylinder having the divider compartment emptied of its contents; this sprinkler may include a reservoir in the bottom of which extends an endless screw which mechanically brings the flour to a projector device controlled by a blower.
All the commands can be given by the motor shaft of the machine and this by means of worm screws; ratchet wheel, connecting rods, and the like so that the various operations follow one another normally and within a strictly uniform period of time,
In the accompanying drawing is shown, by way of example, one embodiment of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is a front elevational view of the mechanism controlling the various parts of the divider, the frame being omitted for clarity of the drawing, while Fig. 2 is a side elevation view thereof.
Fig.3 is a vertical and axial section through the dividing cylinder.
Fig. 4 shows the detail of the control of the dough advancement members.
Fig.5 shows schematically the blower actuated by an eccentric disc. fig. 6 shows the blade control,
The pasta dividing machine according to the present invention comprises a dividing cylinder 1 rotating about its axis 2; the axis is controlled by means of a set of 3-4 gears and a
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
connecting rod 5 connected to a crank 6 spread on the motor shaft 7.
In the drawing, the cylinder 1 is provided with two compartments marked in dotted lines in fig. 1 and 2 and in section in fig. 3
The number of these compartments is obviously variable according to the use of the divider and the thickness of the dough. As it happens,
The inventor has therefore provided a two-stroke divider such that one of the compartments is filled while the other compartment is emptied.
To this end, provision must therefore be made for a temporary stop in the rotating movement of the dividing cylinder 1 and for a sufficient duration to fill one of the compartments and to empty the other. Fig. 2 indicates a control mode with periodic movements. The connecting rod 5 is in connection with pivoting plates 8 which carry a ratchet 9 taking in a wheel with four teeth 10.
By this ratchet control, the cylinder is immobilized until the moment when the connecting rod has finished its upward movement to fully engage the ratchet 9 in one of the teeth of the wheel 10; during its downward movement the connecting rod 5 drives the ratchet 9 which turns the wheel 10 fixed on a transmission shaft carrying a toothed wheel 4 engaged with a pinion 3 fixed on the axis, of the dividing cylinder which follows this movement rotating These organs are indicated in dotted lines in fig.2 and in solid lines in fig.l.
In order to be able to carry out the division into dough pieces of variable volume, that is to say of a weight which can vary within the limits corresponding to the useful capacity of the dividing compartments, a special device has been provided which can vary. the capacity of said compartments at will. To this end, one of their walls 12 is movable and forms part of a block 13 which can slide on the central rib of cylinder 1 (see figs). Advancement in this block is carried out by a crank 16 controlling a through worm screw. a fixed core 16 to cling freely in the fons of the block 13.
To reduce the capacity of the compartments of cylinder 1, it is therefore sufficient to advance the block 13, by turning the crank 14 .. 'Optionally, a flat can be provided on the screw.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
15 giving a scale of weights) according to the advancement of said screw. Above the cylinder 1 is located a hopper 17 into which the dough to be divided is poured. Practice has however shown that the dough descends too slowly into the compartments of the cylinder 1 to be able to perform constant and rapid work.
To obviate this drawback, the inventor has provided sectors 18-19, one of the flat sides of which is an extension of the wall of the hopper when these blocks are in their initial place.
These blocks 18-19 pivot at 20-21 and are controlled simultaneously by a sliding rod 22 terminating in a roller 23. which in turn rests on an eccentric 24. This eccentric is wedged on the motor shaft 7. . The rod 22 is in connection with the blocks by means of rods 25-26 and connecting rods 27-28. So that this rod operates a sufficient traction, it is loaded with a weight 29. In the position shown in fig.l the blocks 18-19 are outside the hopper 17; but as the eccentric 24 rotates and is followed by the roller 23, said blocks will enter the hopper to apply pressure on the dough and push into the corresponding dividing compartment.
Once the upper compartment of the cylinder 1 is filled, a device is provided according to the invention for separating the dough to be dispensed from the dough located in the hopper in order to avoid crushing of the dough.
This device includes knives 30 and 31. (see fig.3) These knives slide above cylinder 1 and below hopper 17. These knives are extended by racks 30 'and 31' which mesh with pinions 32 and 33. These gears are controlled by a connecting rod 34 controlled by the motor shaft 7 and by a set of gears and connecting rods 35-36-37-39-40.
To. Facilitate the. exit of the dough from its dividing compartment it is preferable to sprinkle the walls with it before the introduction of the dough. According to the invention. this sprinkling takes place by a
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
projector device 41 which receives the flour by a worm 42 which is introduced into the bottom of a tank 43. The projector 41 is in communication with a blower 45 with the aid of a pipe 44. This last is controlled by an eccentric
46, wedged on the shaft 7. At the desired moment for the divider compartment empty of its contents to appear in front of the spout of the projector device 42. the blower 45 is actuated and operates the desired sprinkling.
The various commands are caused by the same shaft 7 so that the adjustment of the movement of the various members described above is easy to operate; on the other hand, once this adjustment is complete, the movements must follow each other periodically and within a strictly uniform period of time.
