<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

ner un tour ou une fraction de tour de clef aux boulons, pour as- surer à la brouette toute la fermeté d'assemblage, qu'elle avait à l'état de neuf, Il en dérive aussi de grandes facilités non seu- lement pour le montage et le démontage.,:, mais également pour les réparations et, en outre, une diminution d'encombrement lorsqu'il s'agit d'expédier la brouette, Enfin, un avantage fort apprécia'* ble lui aussi, résulte de la fixation des armatures sur le coté des bras de brouette plutôt qu'en empiétant sur l'épaisseur de ces derniers;

The present invention relates to wheelbarrows, and it relates to a device serving to consolidate the weak point, that is to say the place where, ordinarily, holes are made in their arms. of steps; these holes were drilled in the thickness of these arms, that is to say to the detriment of the solidity of the assembly.
This invention is shown by way of exemplary embodiment in the accompanying drawings, of which fig. 1 shows, in front elevation, an assembly of the arms of the wheelbarrow united with the head thereof, by the intervention irons which will be discussed later, while fig. 2 shows in perspective a wheelbarrow structure where it can be seen that the receiving arm ends of the wheel are free of the latter, because it has nothing commum with the object of the invention.
In fact, by its wheel as by its stretchers, the wheelbarrow has a structure similar to the known model.
But, while, in the latter, the arms are hollowed out of

four holes which cross them from top to bottom (two of which cross the mortises), the present invention dispenses with practicing these holes; it leaves the material of the arms, its full thickness, and, consequently, does not weaken them in this place as is the case for the ordinary system.
By consulting fig. 1, you can see in A B the large cross bolt which is used to connect the left arm of the wheelbarrow with the right one; bolt passes through a groove in the hinge that connects the two arms; the latter receives at each of its ends the tata fixing bolts respectively designated by 1 and 2 and each used to fix the lower end of a flat steel frame a (right side) and to (left side) .
These reinforcements, which strictly speaking constitute the object of the invention, rise from these heads 1 and 2, up to the head crossbars tt of the wheelbarrow where they are then bent at a square to be fixed to this. crosses by means of bolts 2 then they are bent obliquely to descend to the arm @ 3 near the wheelbarrow wheel, and to be also fixed in these places by bolts directed inward; in short, the reinforcements form a bridge, which ensures the rigidity of the assembly.
The steel plates which constitute them have a width as well as a thickness proportional to the force which the wheelbarrow must have; thus, for example, in the event that this is intended for the work of the helper, these plates would advantageously have a width of 30 m / m by a thickness of 6 m / m.
In addition to the effect, @ already mentioned, of the reinforcement obtained by the elimination of the holes formerly made in the arms, the invention ensures the reinforcement of the bottom of the boards of the wheelbarrow by the bolt which connects the two frames by supporting them. .
It also follows that, in times of great drought and contraction of the woodland, it suffices to give

a turn or a fraction of a turn of the key to the bolts, to ensure the wheelbarrow all the firmness of assembly, which it had in new condition, It also derives great facilities not only for assembly and disassembly.,:, but also for repairs and, in addition, a reduction in space when it comes to shipping the wheelbarrow, Finally, a very appreciable advantage also results from fixing the frames on the side of the wheelbarrow arms rather than encroaching on the thickness of the latter;
we know that the ordinary rungs, in coming to the center of these arms, lost two thirds of their thickness; under current conditions, the trunk of the wheelbarrow widens on average by half a dozen centimeters near the wheel, hence the possibility of relieving the worker having to drive the wheelbarrow by transferring a greater part of it. of the load on the wheel of the latter.
